Preach, I like Ashley Park's voice fine enough, but they just use ANY excuse to make her sing, no matter how flimsy it is!
@@trinaq Yes I like Ashley Park's voice, I hope she starts in a musical again and or even a musical movie in the future.
Didnt know those Netflix fo ols closed the "1899" tv series.
I just skipped almost every song XD But Raycon is for sure worth it ;)
Oh my god, as if amanda can sing any better, Ashley Park's singing was excellent, I mean amanda just cannot admit any positive thing about this show to save her live. Once again, amanda's criticisms are absolutely stupid, wake up people...
Netflix just cancelled 1899, a story that has an actual plot they have laid out for 3 seasons, yet Emily in Paris, after the disaster of season one, is still standing… je ne comprends pas ton petit cerveau Netflix
Meanwhile, in le petit cerveau de Netflix : 0011100$$$$$$0001
What!? That's horrendous! Dark was so so successful and well written and I'm sure they would have gone down a similar route with 1899
What a shame
Wait you’re lying, please tell me you’re lying 😭
Wasn’t 1899 plagiarised from a different author tho?
@@noexonolife65 It actually wasn't although there was someone claiming that, however the similarities between the two are pretty superficial, like very common sci-fi fantasy tropes and relating to a popular plot structure. I actually read the graphic novel that was supposedly plagiarized and watched the show, personally I doubt the writers of 1899 plagiarized it
I can't believe Netflix cancels so many good shows left and right, but lets Emily in Paris get a 3rd season
They actually renew a few crap shows which makes their quick trigger finger when it comes to good ones maddening.
1899 got cancelled. 😮💨
@@katherinealvarez9216noooooooooo are you serious? I can’t
My guess is that it's cheap to make, and people tend to binge it right as it drops (which means they don't have to pay residuals, since those don't kick in for streaming media until 19 days afterwards, for arcane contractual reasons). Also, media execs tend to assume that viewers are functionally braindead and astoundingly bigoted, and therefore assume inoffensive cheesy drama will be popular
@@theresafisher8781 inoffensive cheesey dramas are popular, but when they are absolutely unentertaining, what's the point? And why is she dressing like a Power rangers villain and not be campy as heck?!
The most bizarre thing about this show is fact they made Alfie really charismatic and likable character just to go "nah he's not the endgame, the human embodiment of piece of wood is".
the bar is low but can you imagine how many people the show would win over if it actually decided "actually no, the endgame is the second love interest (Alfie) we introduced as a diversion because he's genuinely more interesting." the way it keeps trying to tell us emily/gabriel is some kind of passionate Can't-Be-Stopped, It's Meant To Be romance is SO laughable considering how little they care about other people's feelings in passive pursuit of their own.
@@Bluey306 it's honestly hilarious how this show tries to push Gabriel as this perfect partner for Emily and then makes all their scenes together painfully awkward because actors have absolutely no chemistry with each other and we're talking about Lily Collins who has chemistry with everyone in the show but her main love interest.
It's like even actors doesn't feel it themselves but writers doesn't want to let go making characters more and more unlikable in process, someone really should make them some hot chocolate, kiss forehead and say it's ok to make mistakes and rewrite the script if their main storyline didn't work out.
@@Bluey306 YES! I actually wanted that to happen and before the last episode I believed that I was like "OMG it's happening!!" but NO! They ruined it.. I'm okay with the "LOVE" aspect of it. I mean yeah ok, I accept they may be in love. But it doesn't have to mean they have to be together. On the contrary, they should be with the ones who make them happy. Partnership is about compatibility and effort while love is about caring for that person. Think about the possibility of them staying friends while Gabriel is married to Camille and having kids and Emily is with Alfie, living her own life. They are happy with their choices, they are happy for each other and once in a while when the other is in need they are there for each other. Like they did the whole season. I think it was the best direction but the writers chose to stick with something outdated.
Emily is the piece of wood right?
I feel sorry for Alfie, between him and Gabriel, he's clearly the better choice. However, maybe he deserves better than to be sucked into Emily's endless drama!
He seemed a little douchey at the beginning but turned out to be such a great guy
Alfie also had better chemistry with Emily compared to Gabriel!
@@radhiadeedou8286the creators were probably like ‘man we did alfie so bad let’s just give him a redemption arc and make everyone else miserable and hatable in order to keep him in the show’
It’s a damn show lol
@@damnmuggle everyone is aware of that dude. The point of creating characters in tv shows is for the viewers to relate and see them as people, empathise with them etc.
Team Alfie! He was such a good bf, communicative, with normal boundaries, and cared about her friends as well. The Mindy stuff was boring and as much as I love a pivot to bisexual chaos, but Cami's story made no sense and just felt like a way to ruin two couples.
AGREED
It seems like the made the other characters more awful so that Emily wouldn't be as bad comparitively. By doing this, they nuked the rubble of their own show. I still won't forget how they bribed Golden Globes judges and got away with it.
Basically this. They are trying to force us to like Emily so bad bc they didnt think so many people would hate her lol
Right but that made me dislike her even more cuz u can tell that the characters wouldn't and shouldn't be that stupid so Emily is STILL the problem and truly never learned anything
One thing I noticed about this season is that the French characters actually spoke French amongst themselves instead of just speaking English in a French. I liked that change
They're getting better, but for example Mindy still speaks English with her french love interests even though she's supposed to be fluent which doesn't really make sense 🙃
At this point, I am convinced that Emily in Paris is just a money laundering front. Like, the only people still watching it are just doing it so they can stop other people from needing to do the same. It's so outrageously bad, yet somehow, it's got 3 seasons and is chugging steadily toward a fourth? There is no way it's real, right?
Hate watching is still watching, right ?
What I'm worried about is the future career of people involved in this. Double-edged sword for all the French actors on this, for being capable of being cast in an American production, but one that makes France and the French relatively ridiculous. And everyone has little chance to demonstrate acting capabilities or good judgement in the choice of projects they work on.
My mom watches unironically because it's her stupid TV if dad can't convince her to watch Nacho Libre again
@Joëlle Weetjewel It's cheap. It does what it's supposed to do, allow audiences to turn their brains off. Meanwhile, there's no budget for things that are just a tad more challenging, that maybe a tad fewer of us would like to watch, but are cancelled after one very good season cause all the money must go to idiotic things that most people watch "ironically" (or not). No need to be caught up in the online discourse to deplore it.
@@ameliecarre4783 Agreed, but also, I could never turn my brain off with those outfits screaming into my eye sockets.
Get out of your echo chamber. You don’t have to like it to admit that it’s a very popular show.
Amazed that they did a season 3 after the season 1 disaster.
anything for money...
And cancelled a second season from Mike Flanagan?(!)
It’s probably cause so many people hate watch shows that get a lot of press. It’s the same reason Riverdale got so many seasons
It was hardly a disaster. It was flawed true but it still had some good bits and is slowly improving each season.
@@claudia_dragonprince1436
You... you don't know?
Emily in Paris bribes were the final nail in the coffin of the Golden Globes scandal.
It literally helped to ruin the reputation of one of the biggest award shows in the world.
Hate that they cancelled so many good shows (1899, Midnight Club, etc.) and keep making generic romcom stuff, but apparently mindless background noise is what the average person wants to watch 🙄
1899 is cancelled? WTF
@@radhiadeedou8286 Yes, was announced just a few days ago, even though it didn't perform bad at all viewers wise 😢
this is the problem.
it may be perfectly fine, but that's just it.
it's perfectly.. safe. it's just... it's safe.
keepin it right there, where it belongs.
in the land of safe storytelling.
It’s hilarious how Emily was legit about to break the pact in seasons 2. This after all the pain she already caused Camille, but I’m supposed to feel like she was betrayed ?! Bitch you were about to betray her again !!
Then Gabriel and Emily flirt the entire season and even go hang out at some balloon thing and post about it. Like, you all ever think that you two being alone together would ever hurt Camille after everything your already did to her ?
Then Sylvie betrays the only client she has to help her “friend” Pierre. The same “friend” who left her for another company without warning, in a humiliating way. In what way is this good business ? If I knew Sylvie betrayed her only Client, I’d never want to do business with her again.
And Alfie, got shit from Emily for not telling his family about her. Meanwhile she’s pissed that Gabriel is getting married and totally and obviously pines for him and gets so pouty whenever he shows Camille any love. But right, you also don’t get why Alfie doesn’t completely trust you lol
I totally agree! So, I have to feel bad for Gabriel and Emily and think that Camille is the villain because she's cheating now after being cheated on the first two seasons and being emotionally cheated on the whole third season. Also considering how this show makes all French people seems to care so little about cheating, is it even that serious?
@@nettie5102 for real! And Emily is with Alfie and gives him shit for not telling his family about her, and even when he explains why (because he’s had his heart broken before and isn’t sure Emily is serious) she STILL blatantly gives goo goo eyes to Gabriel; all this despite assuring Alfie she isn’t going anywhere. She then has the nerve to get upset that Gabriel is getting married and makes it so obvious.
It’s hilarious bc Emily and Gabriel didn’t give a shit about Camille when they went out to have fun together….ALONE. I mean, personally, I wouldn’t particularly like my boyfriend hanging out with the woman he cheated on me with. Buuuuuuuut I’m weird like that.
@@nettie5102 Ikr! They portray the cheating on your partner part so casually!
I was seriously pissed. Like what the hell!
My honest opinion about this show is this: It says something about the show that they have to make all the other characters nearly unbearable to make Emily somewhat palpable.
Maybe this isn't supposed to be a show with a story and character development. It's just a contest of who can write the most bad and self entitled characters.
I think you mean palatable
I feel like Emily has an upbeat Slumdog Millionaire complex where every solution to every problem is based on something she saw right before the problem presents itself.
Crazy how every work problem can be solved by something or someone in her personal life and vice versa
Slumdog was least we'll written I edit read the book and the screenplay and the movie
Emily being the cover of Le Monde magazine (Le Monde being the most well known and reliable newspaper in France) is the most mind boggling thing this show has ever done to boost Emily's character, and that's said a lot since this show rely mostly on inaccurate and clichés tropes about french culture.
@@xoxovintagegirl Such a ridiculous comparison.
Lena Situations is for a starter French, very known, relatable and brought something different to the influenceurs scenes.
Not to mention she has one of the greatest engagement rates on social media.
And I know that much without even following her which goes to show her reach.
What really pissed me off was Emily on her high horse talking to Camille about the kiss. Like shut up and sit tf down. It's not like you didn't do a ton of morally questionable things Emily. Even Mindy tells her to mind her business and still she chooses not to.
Yeah but Mindy also said to say something once they got engaged. And Emily and Gabriel did do something kind a messed up. But Camille is being way worse. Technically they were broken up when he had sex with Emily. Camille has had a whole ass affair while dating this dude. 😂 Which is even more jacked up since she knows that she probably would have gotten with Emily has she not made up that stupid pact. 🤷🏾♀️ It’s like you forced yourself back in that relationship I need to go cheat on him.
I am convinced that Emily in Paris is just Thomas the tank engine for adults
Nah. Thomas the Tank Engine at least had a successful book series and some effort put behind it. Stop motion animation for the original series took actual work and creativity. Emily in Paris, on the other hand, may have had a somewhat better season 3 compared to season 1 in terms of Emily actually getting consequences or people not liking her actions, but there's still problems and plotholes everywhere.
@@thejasminedragonmerchant6843 tbh I meant more the HIT entertainment era of Thomas, specifically Thomas and friends where every episode was Thomas/Emily does a thing, they come across an issue (and cause confusion and delay or loose a client), they work with their friends to come up with a solution and everything is fine.
The best part of this season was Emily having the 'genius' idea to sell the ruined batch of perfume as a limited edition range and Antoine going off at her for explaining supply and demand to an established businessman. But then it was immediately undermined by him listening to her and celebrating her great idea.
Actually it was not to sell the bad batch, but the good one they had very limited quantity of! Not that it changes anything about the rest of your observation though!
Well I really think that that scene was just showing that Antoine has a temper and sometimes doesn’t like to listen to reason more than Emily having a bad idea.
But it is sometimes annoying that she is the only person coming through with ideas. Although sometimes it does feel like she’s so quick to come out with something that it doesn’t give her coworkers time to share their thoughts and opinions and shine. Although really that’s her coworker and bosses fault for not telling her that she’s a ball hog. You can’t expect somebody to make changes in themselves if you don’t tell them that they are frustrating you. 🤷🏾♀️ But then I guess they wouldn’t have any drama. 😅
Love a good barely an inconvenience reference. I am so sorry you had to watch this show. We appreciate the sacrifices you make for us.
Pitch meeting vibes lol
I was looking for this! Left a similar comment lol
I’m still shook that Emily in Paris is on its 3rd season and 1899 got canceled! 😭
It's all about the numbers babe Emily had better viewership n more controversy means more money
i was slow at watching 1899 still on episode 1 is it still worth watching since it got cancelled?
This season was simultaneously better and worse. I got particularly especially annoyed at everyone looking to Emily as the sole conflict-solver this time, maybe because her overshadowing other ideas was emphasized. At least the first 2-3 episodes were "good" chaotic and I was expecting Mindy to end their friendship, but heaven forbid someone not be a friend or lover to Emily. Any realistic legalities were thrown out I guess for the sake of Sylvie and Madeline needing Emily as the world's singular expert on everything. I'm glad Alfie decided better for himself. Oh, and between this show and Paris fashion shows, they could learn from you how to tone things down while keeping it cool.
And thank you for the belated birthday present!
Happy belated birthday!
13:48 "Someone's cousin had a great time with these lyric pop-ups." had me literally guffaw.
God, how the hell did they make 3 seasons of this?!
Probably because they know that people merely hate watch it, and it will bring in the viewership.
Pretty sure EIP is owned by CBS/Paramount and they’re paying Netflix to run their show.
@@Shelbzz that wouldn't surprise me to be honest
@@Shelbzz other way around. Netflix is paying them for the show. The show got 3 seasons because it preformed very well
Weirdly enough, lots of people watch it.
I've never watched Emily in Paris and I fully don't plan to, but Amanda's recaps make me want to watch more of her recaps for this show. 🤣
The fact you say 'i don't plan to watch it' based on amanda's absolutely terrible recaps is so stupid. Really, I used to like amanda, but now she just whines and complains nonstop, it really started to turn me against her, she just gives absolutely stupid criticims in a sped up voice for ratings, that's it, there is zero actual reflection in her videos now. Emily in Paris is actually a good and entertaining show.
I feel like they actually tried to take some of the criticism, like having the French people talk to each other in French lol
Hah i noticed that too
Meanwhile, at a meeting at Netflix:
"Ok, next item. We responded to the feedback and started having the French characters speaking to each other in French. How did that go over?"
"Good news. The overall audience response to that part was positive."
"Are you serious? I was sure we'd lose them there."
"I know, it surprised me too. But is seems that the American public is actually able to handle subtitles."
"Uh-huh....Who'd have guessed? You think we've been underestimating their intelligence all this time?"
"Nah."
I would like large quantities of people to stop hate watching things all the way through. If you hate watch something then find you un-ironically like it, go ahead. But if you hate something please don’t finish it so they know to stop making bad content and put more effort and funding towards good content. I’m so tired of getting invested in a good show only to see it get cancelled while bad shows get an excessive amount of seasons. If you want to know what happens, google is free and UA-cam is (mostly) free too. It is a crime that Riverdale has at least 7 seasons but I Am Not Okay With This was cancelled on a cliff hanger after 1 season.
Or just 🏴☠️it somewhere
I will never understand why "I am not okay with this" and 1899 got canceled but this gets seasons forever.
THIS
As a Fan of The OA, I feel your pain.
Not enough people watched them?
Your sacrifice will never be forgotten!!!
Thanks for taking this blow for us!!!
Watch it it’s good
I don't watch this show, but I watch your recaps of every season. So thank you.
I'm so bummed 1899 got cancelled. 💔
Did we ever mentioned we like it when FriendlySpaceNinja and you do the same show? In case we didn't... I love it! Thank you guys! 😊
I remember that Emily gave Julien and Luc permission to use her pet filter pitch. They even talk about in one of the episodes.
That pet filter thing has been bothering me a lot, though. Who exactly made that? Emily is certainly not a web developer and they have no one else working at Savoir.
There is no way you can marry in France just like that with a priest. Gabriel and Camille are both French so I don't understand why they exchange (very American) vows in English. And of course they now that the ceremony will never be officially recognized by the authorities 😅
Netflix should make a canon/non-canon anthology crossover show with all of their shows that they make. It doesn't have to be live action, animation works too. Kind of like the Scooby & supernatural episode. It does not have to be super serious. Each episode could tackle different genre of story. I would watch that.
Hearing you pronounce "Luc" made my ENTIRE day, so thanks for that :)
It’s so funny, I don’t watch any of these shows or movies you review, yet I’m so captivated by your amazing storytelling that I’ll watch a full season review of a show I care nothing about. Keep up the great content 👏 👏
the first thing i thought when i saw the thumbnail was “they did NOT make another one”
that's what I thought when I saw another idiotic amanda video when she whines about a movie in a high pitched voice and has no concept of fun or entertainment...wait that's every amanda video!
@@draum8103 baby, what the fuck does that have to do with me🥺
Don’t like dont watch sweetie, it’s simple 😁
The whole cat filter app btw was something that was ripped of from real life. There was an online court meeting, I cant remember where exactly, and one of the participants had a cat filter on which he did not realise. Once the other participants made him aware of it, he just kept repeating 'I'm not a cat, I'm not a cat!'. It was a news story some months ago. Xp
It worked by they way, I haven’t watched a single episode. These recaps satiate my curiosity lol
Classic Netflix, cancelling the good shows to keep stuff like Emely in Paris, I call that the "Riverdale phenomenon" :D
As an expat living across Europe for the last 20yrs and whose experiences have been a lot darker though less melodramatic, this show is my guilty pleasure....aaaahhh, what could have been, if i had a team of writers directing my story
If you can handle 365 days, you can handle pretty much anything
365 Days feels like it's that much of a mess, like, on purpose.
I love how Amanda reminds me how to use my RayCons every once in a while cuz I only glanced at the little booklet. 😂🤣
I think this season was by far the worst. The biphobic subplot, the utter character assassination of Camille to make Emily look better by comparison, Emily’s utter lack of chemistry with either of her love interests, the continued Antoine erasure (RIP to the “Antoine’s mistress” storyline that never was), the fact I had to suffer through THREE MADELINE EPISODES just for them to ultimately end up in the exact SAME OFFICE with the SAME PEOPLE almost exactly as they were before in Season 1…Emily in Paris used to be fun to hate watch but this season was an absolute chore. Darren Star is extremely talented at introducing plot points and then completely throwing them away. EIP is the most “AND THEN this happened” show I have ever watched and it’s so frustrating.
How is it biphobic?
@@radhiadeedou8286 The Cheating Bisexual Trope is a harmful and way-too-common depiction of bisexual people in media, perpetuating negative stereotypes that bisexuals can’t be monogamous or faithful. Vox also did a really interesting article (“TV Shows Keep Making the Loser in a Love Triangle Bi”), about how tv shows often try to neutralise love rivals as a romantic threat by making them bisexual, even though that’s not how it works. It’s a shame because I wanted Camille to be bi based on the hints we got in S1, but not like this.
There were three things I really enjoyed this season: it's visually appealing, we got more french language and the rare treat of a woman over 40 being a desirable being with a love plot. The rest was quality escapism and brain relaxation which is why I watched in the first place 😂
Maybe next season they will actually show the real Paris not this white washed, fake clean Paris bs
@@michealrosen the question is - through what lense? a genuine look at Paris or a "well, there's a Paris outside of tourism, but who wants that?" Hollywood perspective. Like how they always put that orange dust filter over south America and the grey one over eastern Europe. Not sure I'd trust the team with actual depth
the new season came out when both my mom and I had covid and were quarantining together on the living room, I had to listen to most of the first episode before I finally asked my sister to hand me my earphones bc I couldn't take it anymore (my mom says she likes to watch it bc of the clothes but not even that is salvageble)
Sylvie, Luc and Julien are more interesting than any of Emily's drama, and I'd rather watch a spin off about any of them instead!
I LOVE Luc he’s so precious
Emily still can't speak French after 3 seasons in Paris, entitled Chicago girl who doesn't seem to learn from her previous bloopers. As long as this show attracts tourists in my hometown, it's fine
@@francoiseklein9621 Right? She's been in Paris at least a year now and they are impressed when she manages to string two, very basic sentences together to greet Gabriel's grandma.
@@rkah6187 actually considering that Madeline was pregnant when Emily left for Paris and she gave birth in the 3rd season, that would mean Emily would have at best been there for 8 months. It’s exhausting for us because we spent 3 years watching her struggle but realistically she’s only been in that French class for a couple months. Her French progression is the only realistic aspect of the show lol
@@mermaidcatching You are correct on the timeline, thank you for pointing that out. I still think her language skills are very poor for the amount of time she has spent there. It is one-thing to go to a class once a week when you are learning at home, but when you are immersed in the language on a daily basis, you should be picking it up *much* faster. (That's also my personal experience; I was sent abroad for schooling with very little English and picked it up very fast, as did all my classmates.) That she hasn't just means she doesn't actually care about assimilating at all.
I literally watch these so I DON’T feel tempted to watch the actual show out of sheer curiosity 😂
See, she has BANGS!
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!
So I’ve actually had the UA-cam editer out of sync problem once as well! I fixed mine by making a tiny 1 second cut at the beginning or end of the video and reprocessed it and it fixed it! Just so you know for the future! 🤗

I am so over shows where the “meant to be” characters are always in relationships with other people.
Honestly. It’s overdone and just not real life.
They canceled Midnight Club but this got 3 seasons ☹️
They also cancelled 1899
I swear Netflix (mostly) hates good content
And "I am not ok with this" and Archive 81.
At this point someone should cut people at Netflix who have deciding vote on what shows to cut..
And let's not forget Warrior Nun!!!
And The Society ):
Honestly, I'm just waiting for them to drop the pretense and run nothing but reality TV and the cheapest, shallowest dramas possible.
Okk I know it's storyline is not that great but the show is soo aesthetically pleasing
Finally, a new video about my favourite trashfire of 2020s
I'm still watching, and still very much at the beginning, but I just want to ad that I love your style, Amanda.
For some reason, the moment that made me suspend my belief was when Emily started playing Mindy's song by the pool, and everyone around immediately started dancing. A couple of people I would understand, but EVERYONE? At the same time? 🙄 we get it - Emily's a marketing genius
An Emily in Paris and You cross over actually sounds entertaining
The whole show is bizarre. I watched the first season as a mindless distraction during the last presidential election, but I’ve somehow been sucked into watching the other seasons. Morbid curiosity? Idk. My major gripes with the show are that Emily has no chemistry with her love interests, a lot of the dialogue is too sex and the cityish, and Emily’s friends/coworkers were more interesting to me
Oh thanks for fixing the avatar video. I usually only listen and not watch the videos and was not sure if this was just in my head or if something was wrong with the video
i'm kinda starting to hate this trend we're seeing more and more of queer relationships only happening when a character is cheating or looking for a "new experience". I feel like it's not actually about us and i'm tired of always seeing queer characters as walking stereotypes/quotas or as just a tool for the main characters' development. I want genuine representation in mainstream media, and really it's not that hard to properly write a queer character, especially when you see the diversity of people in the community.
To anyone who's reading this, please feel free to let me know what you think about this and representation in general, i'd be glad to hear others' opinion on this topic!
I hated how the characters easily moved on n jumped from a partner to a new one 😭 i also hated Camille in this season but we all gotta admit that the show is a guilty pleasure no matter how we hate it's still entertaining can't wait for season 4
I was waiting for this, thank you thank you! I am soooo not watching the 3rd season (I care for my mental health) but was still curious about the storyline.
I mean I haven’t or plan to watch this show thx to u and FriendlySpaceNinja. So u know, keep spitting these vids out lol
The Alfie moment where our boy told Mindy about his BS is so good. The like one amazing moment in all three seasons
Thanks for the info on the avatar video. Gonna put it in my watch later list right away!
I have to confirm thanks to you & Friendly sapace ninja's videos I haven't watched a single episode of this show so your videos do help save people lol
I only recently started watching your content, and I don't even really watch TV anymore, but when I saw Emily in Paris being talked about, jfc I had to watch this.

Just came home thank you so much!!! ❤
About the Pierre Cadault thing, maybe it's because he dropped Savoir before Sylvie and her staff announced they were quitting 🤷
Okay I'm like 5 seconds in but I NEED to know where your shirt is from! Very much obsessed.
to be fair, eurovision music tends to be a bit shit, like the winner country has to organize the next one and it costs a shit ton of money soooo, the goal is to lose but not be tooo ridiculous ;)
I hate how idiotic they made Luc. Sure he's a bit socially awkward but this season, they made it so he's downright idiotic. No adult in their right mind would give away any of the secrets he did, they would never last in any job especially one that handles confidential information like fashion. He's just the writer's (and character's) punching bag
Indeed, Amanda, I have not watched one episode of Emily in Paris, but I have watched everything you and friendly space ninja have put out about it. Thank you for your service, my curiosity is satisfied!
It is super annoying to me that so many truly good shows (or even ones that are a little rough but that still have a TON of cultural value...*cough* First Kill XD) get cancelled, and this monstrosity gets a *third* season - . - Thank you for takin' one for the team!
Apparently Netflix has confirmed a 4th season. Because why make sense now?
And even some very, very popular and well received shows have to literally wait for months to get a possible update on further seasons (like The Sandman)
It’s barely a ‘monstrosity’ sure it’s not the best but it’s just some fun, relaxing escapism. Riverdale, now that is what you would call a monstrosity
@@wandaavision9978 no this show is offensive
@@psychochris you are very easily offended then
Anyone getting into Eurovision with any kind of song is more realistic than a successful bottled kir royal pitch, or people getting married on a whim like they're in Vegas. Is this France or what ?
I thought series 3 was worse than series 2, which is fine as I'm a hate watcher. As a French person, statements like "French people consider McDonald's a small luxury" is mindnumbingly stupid, and the commitment to plotlessness is breathtaking. When the trailer was all about her struggling to keep two full time jobs secret I thought that, while very tropey, this had way too many dramatic and comedic possibilities for Emily In Paris and they would get rid of this premise by the end of episode 1 and then spend about half a series undoing the climax of series 2. And, of course, that is exactly what happened.
And why bring up non-competion clauses without looking up what they are? Because the primary clause is usually that you can't work for any company in the same field for 3-12 months, not that you can't steal from your old job. I've had minimum wage customer service jobs with that 3-12 month ban, so I really doubt this luxury marketing firm just had a "thou shalt not steal" clause no one knew about or inforced. Another plot with many possibilities, but why do story when you can just bring it up a couple of times without doing anything with it or knowing what you're talking about?
i actually think the overall quality of emily in paris gets better every season. this season is certainly better than the first
When the bar is undeground, you can be in the hole and still be higher up and not high enough to not suck.
@@Author.Noelle.Alexandria the show isnt that terrible. its not great, but to think the bar is underground just shows you have a brain worm
And still, there are shows and ideas that already have a very high quality and are on a high level, yet they get denied so that Netflix can finance a show that apparently only got marginally better over three (!) seasons.
It's business, but it's hella unfair
@@Author.Noelle.Alexandria the bar is hardly underground, it has its flaws but I think the criticism for this show is so over the top and exaggerated. It’s rlly not that bad.
@@ughasif7908 Maybe you're right, never thought of it like that. I hated this show for how stupid the characters are, it seemed like they were over the top immature. But then I watched the Mindy Project recently and felt the same way. But I think that at least was trying to be a comedic show. Both these shows keep running around in circles...
Netflix canceled Inside Job and this got three seasons?!
Not me patiently waiting for the next ACOTR review 😭🖤
The fact that this show is still going is definitely part of why I'll never forgive Netflix for canceling The OA.
Also that clip from Glee made me laugh so hard.
You're one of my favorite creators. Truly, I watch your videos about shows and movies that are trainwrecks so that I don't have to. Thank you for your service
"It's truly barely an inconvenience" gave me Pitch Meeting flashbacks
The baby reveal such a Soap Opera trope
They did Camille so dirty this season. Last season, too. Like, they had to make her the villain just to make Emily more likeable. Also, poor Alfie. He was great and deserves much better than Emily, but between him and Gabriel, I'd rather Emily ended up with him -- if only because I've grown to really really dislike Gabriel.
While I was on Netflix finishing the last season of Breaking Bad, I saw at the continue watching section Emily in Paris. My sister has gone down a dark path and I am eventually going to confront her about this, after I finish Better Call Saul.
Emily is the worst, pining over Gabriel but pissed that Alfie puts healthy boundaries because he doesn't want to be hurt. Guess what he was hurt! playing the 2 companies and tossing her ideas above her coworkers was so disrespectful
I worry that this show being a hate watch is why it's lasting as long as it has. It blew up in a bad way because of the awards controversy and all that Netflix cares about is viewership. I don't think *anyone* is keeping their Netflix subscription in order to watch this show but because it does numbers thanks to all the hate watching, they're gonna keep making seasons. Dumping money on a garbage fire and then raising the subscription price in order to make us all pay for it - even bringing in ads to try and pay off the massive debt they've put themselves in making terrible shows that either get canceled after one season or, like this piece of crap, stick around far too long, sucking up millions of dollars that could be going towards second seasons for much better shows. I fucking hate Netflix.
