I'm glad that I'm not the only one who likes the smell of books. As a librarian's son, it unlocks key memories of my childhood. :)
Currently on my first ever read of Wheel of Time and had begun to struggle through book 8. Pre ordered paper back Tress. Was a really enjoyable read. I then bought yumi and the sunlit man on kindle shortly thereafter and finished all three within 10 days. It's now catalysed my reading again and have jumped back into WoT with renewed vigour.

Neat thing is, I’m a semi truck driver for a book store chain and I get the pleasure of delivering books to our stores, I always check out the fantasy section at every store and saw the paperback tress
Many students want to read your year of Sanderson books, but none are on accelerated reader tests. Only some of Mistborn and Stormlight. Please get them to add the rest so thousands and thousands of students can access your books and test on them.
Do authors have influence on that? I’ve never learned how those things work.

I feel like it's related to Wheel of Time S3. During the last livestream, he mentioned he was under NDA for that. I'm just trying not to get too hopeful for any adaptation news.

That was before before Rings of Power, and Willow hit with a resounding thuds, and Last Airbender got a middling reception, and the Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek shows started getting diminishing returns in viewership. All the streaming networks realized there isn't actually money in streaming so they can't just keep throwing multi-million dollar budgets at random projects. Studios that were ready to make a jump two years ago are more hesitant now.
We're also getting successes like One Piece and Sandman and Good Omens, fantasy projects CAN succeed... and Brandon sells too well to not get some sort of adaptation eventually... but his optimism in 2022 was based on a very different market.
Rings of Power, and Wheel of Time not setting the world on fire are big oofs that hurt him.

I have to say the way the Tress Paperbacks were done in the UK was ridiculous, you already have the white and green version available as hardback and it matches the rest of the white backgrounded cosmere books, yet some peabrain decided to choose the green and yellow cover as the paperback UK cover so it doesn't match with the rest of the series! After this weekly update I want to say something, to Mr. Sanderson and his team.
Before you do Hollywood meeting, have you ever consider doing a backerkit./kickstarter campaign for a movie or TV series.
I think a lot of the people in your community will be exited about project like that, especially knowing that you want the same thing as all of us: quality.
If you have 100% control over a project like that, it will be easier to have a better quality.
This could be a monumental shift in this whole industry.(I am not sure is this something you want or not).
My explicit suggestion for the time being is: Do a poll here on the channel with the question "will you be interested of a campaign like this?" with several answers

And give this poll some time so that people can see it. Because(obviously) you don't only want the opinion of your most loyal fan boy/girls, you want the opinion of the mass.
The thing about crowdfunding a film is backers don't get anything tangible for a much longer time than their other campaigns, and it's much easier to fall through on. Their other campaigns have been successful because they're basically just preorders for a product. A film is much different from that. Also, just because they can find the creation of the film doesn't mean they can get good distribution. Working with an actual studio can guarantee them that. And that's what Sanderson wants, is for lots of people to be able to see adaptations so they can be introduced to his stories. If nobody sees it, that goal is lost.
@@danielbore2396 , I see your point however, I do not agree with you on half of the things. I agree with some of your points but not with your conclusions:
1) "Backers don't get anything tangible":
- They can give us digital copies of the movie, the same way we receive digital audio books and e-books (this is not tangible, I agree, but it is something).
- They can give us digital art (again not tangible).
- They can give mentions as patreons in the credits( a little bit tangible).
- They can give us tickets to the world/continent/country premiers ( this will be manageable) and ( a little bit tangible).
- They can give us deliver a great quality (very tangible).
2) "campaigns have been successful because they're basically just preorders for a product:
A agree that this wont be a pre-order of a product, however we have a base (his stories) and what we can expect if it is good quality. And this is the important thing quality, he will do this with the promise of a quality movie.
3) " A film is much different from that":
Honestly I don't see what do you mean with "much different": Do you mean that involves bigger budget and more people for creation?
4) "just because they can find( by the context I think this is a type and you mean fund) the creation of the film doesn't mean they can get good distribution:
This is again kind of true, it will be much easier a move to be distributed we big studio like Disney, however it is not impossible to be distributed by them and all of us,
it wont be easy but, it could be done.

Yes, it can guarantee them better distribution, but it comes with the cost of something. They will want to interfere with the end product and they can do a lot of HW things to the story, characters... But if you have a good movie as a base then people will talk about it and will recommend it, and this can be more powerful(It is rear but it could happen), but you need a good product to begin with.

To be honest we can only guess what he wants, but I think you are right about this one. But what do you think will happen if HW do a movie adaptation?
Do you think it will be good? And if it is bad and people don't see it the goal will be lost, again.
And honestly I do not believe that HW will do something good enough.
It will be risky, there are a lot of things that could go wrong, but this is the wrong mentality to start.
I personally believe that it could be done.
