I have a 60D also. Sometimes I get caught up in wanting a newer camera but I try to think it threw & think about the key elements of film-making. Getting a new camera not go solve the problem.
I'm right there with you man. I get that gear bug sometimes, but I know working on fundamental filmmaking skills is gonna take me way farther than just getting more expensive stuff.
TNX! What about PAL or NTSC? I dont really need more than my 60D (EFS 17-85mm) and my Sony WX500 on all my trips. Slow-mo capabilties on the 60D are quite poor - but I havent done alotta movies yet. So today I tried some movies.. and the 60D heated up to 55°C (thanx to ML to show temp.). When is temperature to become critical?
You're welcome, glad it helped. Yeah with that setup you should totally be able to shoot that video for your friend, whether it's an interview or b-roll.
For that scene with the 60D, I would add a small led light or flashlight from a phone if you have one, specifically to light the actor a bit and separate them from the rest of the room. This will help the 60D get more light to expose the image better and help your actor not completely blend into the scene. Also, from my personal use shooting with the 60D at night, I wouldn't push it past ISO 1250/1600. It usually gets really grainy past that and at times doesn't seem super usable. I've found that shooting with a faster lens at f2/1.8 and around ISO 800 has worked pretty well for me. Hope this helps!!
Ever thought about collabin with other filmmakers or sharing ideas? Let me know... Check out our latest short film, Bad B*tch coming soon. ua-cam.com/video/1U1k95QjSps/v-deo.html
