Just popping here to let you know I’m feeling much better now so it’s kind of hard to watch this back now seeing how lost and down I was last week. But, I wouldn’t be authentic to myself if I didn’t share my struggles and my thoughts and feelings along the way.

Honestly same. Life feels so normal here though it literally feels like we’re home and just doing normal life stuff here. I honestly struggle to feel like anything I film is interesting but then I realize not everyone feels like they live here!! 😂

It sounds like you're a perfectionist like me, but you need to cut yourself some slack while you're feeling unwell. It may be the reason it's taking so long for you to get back to 100% Josie. And stop this not eating much. You need substance to heal. Even if it small meals x
100% I'm a perfectionist!! You got me in one!! haha. I definitely think working while being sick stopped me getting better but I also couldn't do nothing and rest for the whole time - travel isn't like that and neither is making content. It's such a hard balance beam to juggle. If that makes sense haha. Feeling better now though luckily. Thank you so much!

I have a small business too, as well as working at a permanent job 3.5 days a week. It took a few years for my business to feel like it was getting somewhere but then it just grew with time, effort and attention. Even now it does have its ups and downs. Don’t get disheartened, as Michael said it’s the nature of all businesses. I’ve had to change how I run it over many years-it’s always growing and evolving. Keep at it. We’ll support you whatever you choose to do with your video and channels ❤❤

Glad to see your comment that you're feeling better. Asia can be a tough place in the hotter months. Visa issues aside have a think about cooler places for a solid break. Lake Toba is my get away spot.
Good luck finding an editor. I suspect there's a reason why in mainstream entertainment directors do the bulk of the editing. Finding the essence of your story can be tough.
Enjoy China. Hope you find time to get out of cities. Rural China could get a decent viewing

I think people with much higher budgets can afford "better" editors and can afford to take a risk and pay for trial edits but I do not have the money to risk paying an editor for a trial video and it doesn't work out, etc, there's a lot that goes into it haha.

I know exactly what you mean with the editor. None of the ones I've worked with are as careful as I am, making careless mistakes or they just choose different clips than I would choose for the video. My main UA-cam channel up until this point is 100% me, and it wouldn't be the same if someone else did it. So right now I'm working with a new editor who's helping me put together the tiktoks and facebook videos while I do the main channel myself still. So I do the initial edit first for the long-form UA-cam video, so it's all the clips I want, then she helps add text or chop it up further for the other platforms. So basically all of the content she gets from me is already pre-edited by me. Overall it saves me a lot of time, but that might not be what you're looking to do with your editor
Yeah, 100000%. Careless mistakes and not putting in things I said to from the beginning have given me PTSD 😂😂
Can I ask how you transfer the rough cut timeline? I’ve also had this idea but failed when I couldn’t transfer the rough cut.
At this point, a rough cut still won’t really take the time I need taken off my hands - but at this point I don’t think I have much of a choice 🙃🙃🙃
Hi Josie, have been following both your channels for many months now. Went to Sri Lanka last year because of your videos and met the nicest person in the world. So thank you! It’s sad to see you being sad with the editing dilemma. Not in the business, but do you think it could be a temporary, compromised solution for you & your editor to share the editing work at the beginning? E.g., you only give the time consuming, but less important tasks to the editor, while you control the important stuff, like the footages that go into the video that makes it “yours”? I don’t know whether it makes any sense, anyways, hope you find the solution very soon!

It's definitely a good idea but transferring timelines comes with a lot of technical difficulties unfortunately. It makes sense and it's an avenue we're thinking of, while trying to think of the best way forward :)

Hey there!! Thank you so much for watching! I actually made and run my own group for travel creators, there’s around 100 in there - however no one in there hire yet in their journey. Larger UA-camrs either don’t reply or you can’t get a hold of them. ☺️

Only my humble opinion based on my current state of life! I am a small business owner (small real estate porfolio), and we are very busy with regular jobs (9 to 5) and with a very healthy busy family. I want to growth so badly , I will want 3 or 4 more real estate properties and even to invest in a building complex, but I am not willing to sacrifice my family time and my quality time with my 3 boys. Quantity will increase your creative skills and gain experiences in life but quality will increase your loyal audience. Be blessed, Yana.

For scooters with an engine size of 50cc or less, no license is required.
For scooters with an engine size between 51cc and 125cc, you'll need a Thai driving license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued in Australia.

Hey Josie, stop being so hard on yourself lovely. Maybe just slow down with the two channels or instead of weekly videos upload say every 10 days. I feel like you are putting so much of a burden on yourself. We will al be here no matter what, you do an awesome job on editing but I understand first hand the time it takes every single day to try and put out your best (we are just a small speck in the huge pool of creators so maybe I shouldnt be commenting lol). Its great that you feel you can be raw with us all and we are happy your feeling better this week, but truly what you do IS enough. Of course this is your income and you wan to push that business further but look after yourself first.
