This is how a man sounds when he is stripped from all his pride, his faith, his trust, his confidence and sees no light at the end of the tunnel. For me it's the most haunting song ever. And I love it!
I saw the White Stripes live in Detroit in 2003 and it's still the best live performance I've ever seen. It's still hard to fathom how 2 people can make such a ruckus 😄
I love your reaction!!! As someone who is of the age that grew up with The White Stripes, I appreciate your openness to newer music. I love the White Stripes. 2 people and that’s it. Just guitar and drums. You should check out more of them.
I’m a White Stripes fan, and I particularly appreciate what they did with this cover. When doing a cover, you need to add something, to make a different version, switch up the genre… and that is what the WS did.
Okay okay okay super excited you've done The White Stripes + Jack White, and you say you're not for country music (neither am I), so I thought it might be fun to challenge you with this song: Loretta Lynn feat. Jack White - Portland, Oregon I feel like it'll fall under the same category of songs that you're surprised you liked!
Whoa. I just recommended Me First and the Gimme Gimmies cover of Jolene. Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies cover of Dannys Song (official video) is good. If ya guys want.
Dolly said this is her favorite cover of the song, actually!
Wow. Love that info. Thanks

That really was cool, wasn't it?!
Now what the world needs, is for Dolly to do a cover of a White Stripes song!
LOL. Now that we would like to react to.

Jack White did a duet with Loretta Lynn Portland Oregon
Thanks for sharing this info
He produced her album
Dolly Parton loved it I believe
Not surprised. She is a sweetheart.
I’ve heard it said that with Dolly’s version she has hope she’ll keep her man, in Jack’s version there is no hope.
Oh, that is interesting. We may have to re-listen. Either way, loved this version.

Thanks for this new recommendation. Added to our list as well.
I think he really brings out the desperation in her (the woman in the story) voice
We agree!
She sang requesting Jolene to leave him but he sang accepting the fact that he is gone , that's why so much aggression.
Look at white stripes doorbell
