So, there are several ways to win this mission - using a Nuclear Missile Silo, Kirov rush or a quite long ground assault with your best troops. Kremlin needs two precise Nuclear Missile strikes against it, but be warned because placing a nuke triggers a Yuri's Kirov Armada arrival. You can however even win the mission with starting Kirov's sneaking them through the Yuri's air defences and attacking Kremlin from a backdoor.

The Soviets had the best missions. The maps are just incredible, I don't think there are many RTS games I enjoyed playing their campaigns as much as Red Alert 2 (Vanilla, Yuri's Revenge was great but I liked RA2 more). This is definitely my favourite level in the game.
When I was 9, I played this mission and my dad forget to tell me that the enemy will sent kirov when nuclear launcher was settled up so I had to restart this game XD

The fun way to do this mission is to actually try and clear the whole map of enemies, rather than nuke/kirov cheesing the Kremlin. (Later is at least a bit of a challenge with the Flak Cannons).
I know this comment is a year old but it's to do with the Superweapon button in skirmish mode, if it's off you cannot build Superweapons in the campaign mode, which is weird.
I may be a year late, but, you don't need nukes in this mission. I won it without ever bothering to build one. Like the top comment said, you can just turtle up for an hour or two and build a force of Apocalypse Tanks with which to steamroll your way right to the Kremlin. The trick to turtle effectively is to charge up the hill just in front of your base and capture the two Tesla Reactors, using their build radius to place base defenses at the top of the cliff. Use the starting Conscripts to occupy civilian structures as well, and go Engineer first to capture both the Oil Derrick north of your base, and the Tech Service Depot to the east. Build base defenses off of both tech structures and you should be set.Make sure to build plenty of miners to keep your economy rolling while you turtle up and pump out Tesla Coils and Sentry Guns like it's going out of style. Flak Cannons too, to be used against the Kirov Airships and enemy V3 missiles.Edit: Nevermind that's pretty much what he did in the video.
I used the same tactic as a kid :D my dad always went on full defense and spoted the pathways of the enemy units but I just build the minimal amount of defense forces nescessary and then waited for my two nukes which was and still is oddly satisfying :3
You should have put at least 4 Kirovs attack the ground where the enemies go so you wont have any problem. Even they send you millions of enemy ground units they wont still survive from Kirov bombs.
I usually 'force fire' the kirovs on that part by the ridge where the two orange tesla reactors were. That usually deals with most of the forces coming at you. Then with a large host of tanks and conscripts and flak tracks just turtle and nuke the kremlin. Just my strategy lol. Assault would be bloody hard lol
One of the best missions if not the best in RA2. The waves of attacks are annoying to the max but they could be defeated with multiple tesla coils planted at the middle near the 2 enemy power stations.
You used the same tactic I do. Attack the front hill with kirovs then capture the two tesla reactors and built tesla coils next to them. I charge them with 1 tesla trooper each. So they can get range bonus. Also build lots of flaks to counter kirovs once you build the nuke silo.
A good strategy for this mission would be sacrificing your tanks to clear the Flak cannons on the way, and attack the enemy bases with your Kirovs to take out nuclear reactors and Apocalypses. Once the enemy air defense had eliminated, you can clear all map. Only Yuri's purple base will remain, which would not be a problem because he only sends clones, could easily taken down by guard dogs or Terror drones. Rest is up to you, you can either attack directly to Yuri, or train Flak units and send Nukes
accidently watching this old great video... actually i get used to finish this hacked easy mission with the two kirov i have in the beginning.. it will be so quick by heading up in left side and took the nuclear generators down then finish the mission... all you need is two kirov nothing else
You can tell the difficulty of the mission by how many kirovs Yuri sends when you build the nuke silo. One kirov on each side = easy. 2 kirovs/side = normal. 3 kirovs/side = hard. This is normal difficulty.
send kirovs on the left edge of the map and just move them north and then just to the building you need to destroy. There isn't enough enemy AA to stop them before they bomb it.
LoL…. lost my entire base and all units at the start of the game, leaving me with only the 2 Kirov's and still managed to win the battle within par time ;-) Epic game wich i still play on my old laptop frequently.

This mission is freaking hard, the only way to win this is to use either Nuke or rush Kirov, because the last base they'll defense with tons of f*king Yuri so using Appoc to attack is useless!!! Not to mention the swamps of enemies, and ore fields are in the open... DAMM
thats how I did it 15+ years ago, got enough cash, build as many as kirovs as I can before my base was overrun. my last kirov died and dropped on Kremlin and destroyed it. I think I had a conscript or dog left alive somewhere on the map because I couldnt understand how I could win that.
Kirovs placed where the stupid mind control freaks come through and auto drop. Get 20-30 kirovs fully promoted and bomb away. Yuri won't know what to do.
if you go with the 2 initial kirovs around towards the right side until the edge of the map you can creep up to yuri's nuclear plant and if you destroy it his whole base becomes powerless and with 2 rank 3 kirovs you can cause some real havok if you keep the power down. He never was able to activate the iron curtain this way.
It's quite easy when you are already familiar with the map. If you take out nuclear plants with enough kirovs it is quite easy. If you just want to destroy Yuri then nuke and enough flak tracks is a way to go. In that scenario most annoying thing is iron curtain (and yuri clones hijacking tesla troopers powering tesla coil on high ground - stupid game mechanics and AI advantage, same can be said about RA2:YR last mission allied side - if you have some submerged typhoons Yuri can dominate them anyway so AI knows exactly where your otherwise invisible units are)
OR OM the easiest way is to attack tesla/flak fortification on the hill nearby and establish your extreme fortification (include v rocket , tesla, and generous amount of flak), build a nuke silo then build auxiliares like dogs, drones, and flak tracks.shoot two nukes at kremlin and its a wrap.

Yeah,sometimes i just make a large army consisting of Conscripts,Tesla troopers,rhinos and a few apocalypse tanks.

Besides it repairs your vehicles for free, it can also give you additional building space outside your home base.
The fact is, you can finish it within 6-10 minutes using only 2 Kirov Airship 😁😉

I beat this mission with just 5 kirovs. You just need to spread them out so they don't take the flak's aoe damage

I built around 8 kiroves and sent them from the edge of the map till the yuri base hugging the border of the map, Yuri never knew what hit him.
Tried doing as you did but it didn't work on normal difficulty.

You may train as many as Kirov. Abondon your basement and bomb the target buiding!

Battal Gazi pretty easy if you can manage your cash correctly

for some reason i recall this mission being much harder in version 1.000 than 1.006
