As much as I'd like a Netflix backed show of Kevin James' skits, I personally really enjoyed King of Queens and I was in college so I couldn't really relate. Cars and pit crews are slightly more relatable to me so I am actually okay with this.

seriously. just day to day on set during some of the most icons scenes in movies. just keep it coming

Sound guy is perfect for little shorts on UA-cam. Not to be a dumpy downer.
It could be like the UK comedy Extras, each episode could follow him behind the set of various movies, then weave him into scenes from that movie a few times for the classic 'sound guy' joke.
They don't all need to be good movies either, it could be just as funny if they were bad, like his early days on the job he dropped the boom-mic but nobody cared, or he witnesses some really bad acting, behind the set with actors like Christian Bale, etc.
Netflix is actually garbage when it comes down to managing their series, they'd probably cancel Sound Guy mid season at its peak in view with no reason. That being said, something like Patreon would be far better overall

But I agree the UA-cam channel is better than most things he’s done. Then again, it’s context - that’s something he has complete control over.

@@KarminUwU He's a working actor, this is work. Very few actors get the privilege of always getting paid well for what they want to do. Some actors get the privilege of "do one for them, do one for me" rotation of work, and most actors just get whatever they can.

@@kellybills2987 No, not really. Just an outdated tradition. Not necessary. The best recent sitcoms don’t have them. Some good ones do, but they are few and far between. And they would be better without them.

After a season of fake stadium cheers and boos... laugh tracks are so antiquated.
I can’t help but get the sense that this is a joke. It’s actually pretty funny at times but it’s also really campy. Laugh tracks were always cringe af. I recognized how insulting the whole concept of them was when I was about 20 and ever since then, they are symbols of desperation and/or control.
When I first realized I could watch M.A.S.H. DVD's without the laugh track, it changed my life forever.
Now I am unable to watch ANY show that has a laugh track.
@@maggieellis2303 They're from an era when sitcoms were shot in front of a live studio audience, like Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I think genuine laughter can sometime help, it's "infectious". But fake one is always oversaturated...

A netflix series about a Nascar crew where the twist is that they're being led by a young woman... and it even has a laugh track. I can't handle this, netflix dropped the ball

That's the only thing I liked about this trailer, that it's completely out of time. But I also hate it, would have wanted a sketch show, like Chappelle's or Tosh's, this I won't watch.

This is honestly just filler content for a demographic completely separate from Kevin's youtube audience. The decision makers for this threw every bland, vanilla, sitcom, lazy idea they could against a wall and then picked a large enough name to carry the show (Kevin James). Honestly the show is probably fairly cheap to make and will add something to netflix's library. But definitely not something anyone is excited for or wanted.
And who watches NASCAR anymore? If this was made back in the 90s or early 2000's when NASCAR was huge, yeah - but NASCAR viewership has fallen off drastically over the years.
Honestly thought this was a video game adaption of The Crew at first.

Netflix sitcoms are garbage, streaming is mostly garbage, this is what streaming brings. You get what you pay for, it's the fast food of AAA budget entertainment.

He's pulling us in guys. This is Sound guys first acting gig. Half way through the first episode we pan back past the cameras and someone yells cut. There is a subtle look of sadness in Kevin's face then we follow Sound guys actual more grounded life for the rest of the show.
I would be thrilled if that were the case.

They don’t serve the same purpose any more, and it’s small demographic that enjoys them. I mean how many good sitcoms still use them? Can I assume you’re a big fan of The Ranch? Or Fuller House?

It’s always amazing to see mister James on television! I literally watch king of queens EVERY SINGLE day for the past 13 years? I grow up with that sitcom and now I am 32 and still watching it on loop on Amazon prime for at least 3 hours a day. My mom used to watch with me after school. And today I watch with my own child. The show is legendary. Thank you for all the laughs you gave me in my life! Sound guy is extremely funny as well! Hope this show become successful. Best wishes from Germany.

builds a channel with original videos that everyone loved and comes out with a sitcom including a laugh track that looks no different than any other you will see, this is just disappointing.
It's not like he's in full creative control on a show like this, this is his job... geez you guys need to give him a break

Laugh track sitcoms seem mostly dead, happy to give it a watch, but audiences have fallen out of favor with this style of sitcom

Wow. I've developed the same hairstyle as Kevin James. Years ago, I was working security at a resort in Boca and James came up to me and asked where the restaurant was. He and Adam Sandler were throwing a party for Sandler's mom.

Huge fan here. I am happy for you, and doing another show and series is awesome and I will check it out. It would be nice if you continued doing shorts on here. You could also consider not making it a huge production so it is more manageable while you do the other things, but your UA-cam content is extremely original and it is art. Most comments aren’t saying very positive things but I wish you the best with the new show.
