    The reason your FDM printer underestimates its print time is that the board doesn't calculate all the individual movements and how long they will take in relation to your acceleration and jerk settings, and instead goes only on the selected print speed.
    Analogy: Your map software tells you it takes 6 hours to go from A to B, but doesn't take into account having to slow down and speed up due to traffic, sharp turns and signals.

    Just a few points 1) Why are you using abs resin? 2) No mention of a curing station? 3) If this is ment to be aimed at people new to resin printing why no mention of water wash resin, its a hell of a lot safer and less likley to cause any reactions.

      @@TheSticknstone2 No. I've been printing with resin for years and don't use a mask. Nobody I know uses a mask. If you have even mediocre air circulation in your print room, you won't notice the printer much. As long as you don't try to huff the resin, you should be fine.

    • @jfaristide
      @jfaristide 2 роки тому

      iVideoGameBoss: the only thing you really need are gloves. You won't be working with the raw resin for long enough periods of time to get nauseated by the smell and unless you're literally throwing your resin bottle with the cap lightly screwed on around...well, resin doesn't explode. I know hundreds of people who resin print - from complete newbies to people who operate $100,000 print farms, and none of them use goggles or ventilation when working with resin printers.
      In fact, in my years working with them, I've only seen 2 occasions where someone got a resin burn and on both, it was due to negligence (one guy left spilled resin on his leg then went outside in the sunlight in shorts and the other was making a video to debunk how dangerous resin is (spoiler alert: in the vast majority of situations, it isnt)).
      The thing your wife won't like about this printer is it stinks - bad. All resin printers do. If you can't actively cycle the air in the room your resin printer is in, consider a HEPA (or heavily condensed charcoal) filter system for it.
