Outstanding. Charlie could walk in the honky tonk world, the rockabilly world, and the deep blues world and kill in all of them. Check him out with Jr. Kimbrough. Doug Sahm would be a similar type although different genres.
He was one of the greats and always will be. "Tongue Tied Jill" and "Bottle to the Baby" are 2 of the greatest Rockabilly ongs ever recorded! Wish I got to see him live.
@WFeathers I wish is the kind of music comin' out of the radio today there would be alot less problems today. Long live Charlie Feathers and rockabilly!
Charlie truly is an unsung rockabilly hero...well, he should be there with Elvis, Carl, Jerry and the like! I really love this version of Good Rockin' Tonight and I bet Charlie is up in Rockabilly Heaven jammin' with Elvis and the other "Millionaires" of Sun Records.
Met Bubba at the Hideaway in Memphis a couple of years ago, his band played a few of CF's songs and he said sorry for not having 'a big ole bass' great stuff, great memories.
Thanks so much, Wanda for posting this great video of your dad. The music sounds just like Elvis' version. I showed my mom. She enjoyed it too. Funny to see Bubba looking like he does in it, but he looks good. Your dad was an original hepcat. Good looking and talented, should have been a superstar. Will always miss him.
Delbert "Dell Mack" McKinnon, Rockabilly Hall of Fame, No. 421 talks of Charlie Feathers all the time! Nice to see a video of him. I help Dell with publicity at no cost.
wow! Thanks wanda for posting these gems from your dad, a legend. think i'm gonna go and get my guitar out- its got me in the mood for a bit of rockabilly!!!
Great video! I went to high school with Bubba and live around the corner from Charlie. I cherish my memory's of talking to Charlie out in the front yard under the shade tree.
Wanda, you're so lucky to grow up with this. Your dad is one of my favourite artists ever. Always cool! Thanks so much for posting. Calamity Jane ;o) xx
Wanda, I had the privilege of meeting you at the 50th Rock 'n' Roll anniversary at Sun. You were there during my interview with Sonny Burgess. Thanks for the video, your Dad was the king of Rockabilly in my opinion!
True king of memphis Rockabilly Listen to the Song; certain female 1973 and - one Hand Loose from king records 1956. Other great recording by feathers ist from sun 45rpm and meteor 45rpm IN THE EARLY FIFTHIS. Elvis is the king of Country Rhythm and blues ( all the SUN 45rpm recording)

I'm from Brazil but I do enjoy Charlie's voice and guitar. It's timeless and wonderful! Your dad was such a great man! Congrats!
He surely was a mighty mighty man
If you only heard the music..you could almost believe it was actually recorded in the 50's...so grate dome to 80's !
His hair alone has more rockability than 99% of the thrash that they produce these days.
glvfan ain’t that the damn truth! CF had perfect hair. I mean not one hair out of place! To me he’s more rockabilly than anybody that was ever at 706😎
@@dennisdaley6358 I don't think that's a jumpsuit, It looks to be a 2 piece denim ensemble with wide collar black shirt.
He was one of the greats and always will be. "Tongue Tied Jill" and "Bottle to the Baby" are 2 of the greatest Rockabilly ongs ever recorded! Wish I got to see him live.

His son, Bubba Feathers.
Lead guitarist is Charlies son Bubba Feathers...
Does anyone have a video recording from the show Charlie was on in 1978; the audio recordings featured on "Uh Huh Honey"?
one of the greats. but the guitar player looks like my uncle in nebraska circa 1974.
Charlie Feathers was a gift to this dark world.
Just 1 year after his death we had one of the worst tragedies of 1999. Columbine. And later 911.
boy could he rock . just love his folsom prison
haha, my thoughts exactly!!
maybe he didn't have all the sex appeal of elvis, but i think charlie's even better musically. hope you've got more to post.
