- Breaking down why it's so important to rev up the bike and ride on the clutch as you ascend muddy hills with limited traction.
Highly highly recommend this excellent video on traction from the trials Training Center. • Finding Traction - Ron...
Rev, squat, go technique explained at the two & 1/2 min mark at the below link. long road to splats
• From a Wheelie to Spla...

Outline
Why this technique is important
Drills to work on - flat land
Throttle percents and consistenty
Body positioning
Knees dip forward
Toes down
Balls on tank
Timing of clutch release for traction
Smooth Clutch, not pop
Building higher RPM to accelerate faster, 1/3 then half, then 2/3
Practice in gears 1-4
Controlling wheel lift with feathering clutch
Taking it back to hills
Start smaller hill - less steep, good body position
Steeper hills and less run up
Start just getting up, long run up
Try from static, move closer to base of hill
Try with tight turn before
Try right after a rain in muddy conditions
Practice how to fall/lean bike to side

Thanks man 😁 I am very blessed
Really great video!
Thank you
I really like your work. Thanks for making these videos!
You are welcome. Thanks for commenting 😉
Again well done! You might consider teaching at TTC. That recommendation from a 40 year trials veteran. You have the knack.
Hey thanks so much for your kind words. Anything else to add for this technique?
@@TrialsProgression only that this is how the top riders get up the big stuff. Takes a bit to master the technique but once you own it a new class of riding becomes available to you. Doesn't matter what bike, 2 or 4 stroke, engine size, it's the clutch slip and modulation that makes it work. Ryan Young had our school ride in circles on the flat and rev the engine all while slipping the clutch and maintaining constant speed. That was a good way to develop the concept in a non threatening situation.
@@jodybliss5725 that's a great drill 😉 might have to borrow that one from his playbook. I learned a TON from his class. You are right, all the pros are revving that engine way up before hills and obstacles
Thanks. Would leaning over the handlebars work? Squatting is kind of limited. Leaning does not seem so.
Yikes, well leaning over bars is not recommended. Body position and traction are linked, but I understand health and physical limitations. Maybe just stay neutral on the bike and hopefully you don't have to go up anything too steep. If it's too steep, you could loop out if you can't dip down into the gas tank area.
Thanks - will practice on my small Dirtbike. Please let me know which App do you use for counting your Training Section (e.g. 10 x Wheelie, 20 x Front Hopps, etc.) - many thanks in advance❤
If you are referencing the time tracking app that I have screenshot in other videos it is called simple time tracker for Android.
@@TrialsProgression Thank you - will look it up!
Thanks for sharing. Think you could talk the voice overs slower and maybe some pauses between points? Kind of hard to keep up and no time to like internally process the info
Good point. Yes, I will work on this. 👊

Wow! 1st! 🙈 (SuperThanks button not (yet) available for this video)
Haha. I'm still learning how this works. 😂 I guess it has to be set to public rather than a private video. Good to know. 😉
@@TrialsProgression I used the $uperThanks button on the other video (I like it that the process is so simple and I don't need to setup other accounts, etc.).
@@sorin.n hey that's great to hear and I do appreciate it. 😀 It's something I'm dabbling in is trying to make this filming and editing a little more sustainable. I appreciate your comments and donation 😉
