@TheFarmyardGarden I am reading about straw bale gardening and using them to grow warm loving crops. Sweet potatoes & melons would be good options! It’s exciting to know it can be done here in New Hampshire.
Thank you so much Kathleen. It was such a surprise. I’ve loved every moment of 2024, getting acquainted with my growing space and enjoy life at a simpler pace. It truly is priceless, growing your own. Addicted! Happy New Year to you and your family. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good year for us all ❤️🎉
Congratulations Clare. As I said previously. you have done brilliantly for your first year and, in fact, brilliantly if it was yours 10th year. You have produced some amazing crops of fab quality. You truly are Mother Earth and a hard working one at that. I hope your cast wash bowl renovates well and you manage to return it to it's original glory. Such a beautiful piece. Happy growing 🙂
Wowsers! This comment has made me well up. Thank you for such wonderfully congratulatory words and praise. I’m blown away as much as I was the day I saw the email congratulating me on my third place in the competition! 😭❤️🤗 It’s been a wonderful first full season with such a lovely dedicated growing space. I am so lucky to have this vegetable garden and I am grateful for all the riches it’s provided our family. Here’s hoping for more of the same for 2025, with a warmer spring to get the garden going a bit earlier. I’m excited by our plans for this coming year. Thank you so much for your support throughout. Happy New Year to you and your family. Wishing you a blessed growing season in 2025 ❤️
What a wonderful year you've had Clare! Congrats on the channel and you learning so many new skills to take into 2025! Here's to an abundant year for us all. Happy New Year! Danny 🎄
Thanks Danny. I’m really looking forward to 2025. If it’s as good as 2024, it’s going to be amazing… but I’m quietly hoping for a warmer spring with a bit less rain and a lot less slugs. Thank you for the support this year. Happy New Year to you too. Hoping 2025 is your best season yet 🤗
Congratulations on your win Clare , nice prize too . Ask Duncan if he has any emery cloth lying about in his workshop. It's what professionals use for cleaning rusty steel as it much more durable than regular sandpaper. 40 grade is ideal for the heavy rust and finishing off with 100 or 120 for a shiny finish. Use a square of emery on an old flexible sanding block for an even curved finish.
Thanks George. There’s a few prizes, I feel very lucky. Totally blown away when I got the email. I think Duncan has quite a few ideas with brushes, cloths etc for the wash copper. Looking forward to giving it a go Happy New Year to you. Here’s hoping 2025 will be a good year for us all ☺️
Thank you so much Maiju. It was such a surprise when the email from KG Magazine came through. On reflection, I think my Oca was planted too close together, so I’ll give it more room next year and see how that goes. So many tubers though. They’re such lovely plants to grow Hope you had a lovely Christmas. Happy New Year to you all. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good season for us all. 🤩🤗
Thank you so much, Mark. It’s been a whirlwind. I am really excited to see how you, Josie and Kerry develop your new growing spaces for the forthcoming season. Happy New Year. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good year for us all. 🎉
Thank you so much Jane. It’s been a wonderful year. Looking forward to getting my teeth stuck in to 2025 now ❤️❤️ Happy New Year to you and Mike. Here’s hoping it’s a great season for us both 🎉🩷
A fab compilation Clare ❤, you have definitely done an astonishing job. Congratulations on your well, deserved award 🥉, here’s to 2025 and even better things to come, Ali 🥶☔️☔️🇨🇦
Thanks Ali. What a year it’s been. You would have been one of my first subscribers too, as I’ve learned along the way you are pretty much right there at the start for all of us. Thank you for your continued support. Here’s hoping we all have a wonderful 2025 season. Happy New Year to you and Gerald ❤️
Congrats on the Kitchen Garden award Clare! Hoping to sow some onion and chilli seeds next week. Hope you have a lovely NYE and week and here's hoping for a great 2025 season! Take care. x
Thanks so much. It was quite the surprise. I cannot believe it’s already chilli sowing season. It’s flown by! I keep saying I’m not going to sow quite so early but I’ll be getting itchy feet!
Congratulations on your award! I’m glad that copper is sound. I can see it being used to hold vegetables waiting to be washed in the lovely sink that is next to it.
There’s so many options for it isn’t there? From processing veggies to just storing (and heating to steralise) potting mix. I’d really like to get a grate made for it, as I have a hankering to give washing something in it a go, just to understand what it was really like for our grandmothers. 😳🙈
Hi Clare, if you are adamant on the wire brush method then use your drill and buy a wire brush attachment for the end, you can get them from any DIY shop plus it'll save on your aching arms. Congrats on your award. Have a happy New Year to you and Duncan, plus all your family as well TC. Barry (the Wirral)
I think we’ll try it on the drill to start with. I just wanted to have a guage of how deep the rust had penetrated it first. I suspect it’ll be worse in the bowl but I’m quietly confident it’ll come up relatively ok. Think I’ll considering painting on one of the felt rust removers too, if need be. Thanks so much for the support this year. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good year for us all. Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy and abundant year ahead xx
Congratulations on your prize Clare, very well deserved! Was interesting to see your Oca harvest. I dug up mine yesterday. From 6 plants I had 1 large tuber and about a dozen small ones 😮 the top growth was amazing so I had high hopes but I think I must have planted them too close. Oh well … I’ll try again next year!
Oh wow Anita.. that doesn’t seem right at all! I think I planted mine too close together, so would definitely give some more room to them next year but I’ve left behind loads of tiny ones, will need to soil sieve some out I think They were pretty thirsty. Had to water them far more than other plants around them Here’s hoping next year gives better rewards. 😭🤗
Lovely tour Clare, and congratulations on your KG award! Harvesting my first apples was the biggest highlight for me, followed by one and only gooseberry, but it was a magnificent gooseberry nonetheless! Have a good week! 😀
Ooo that gooseberry sounds like my solitary cherry. I can totally relate to how immense that one little berry was to savour. I didn’t share, hope you didn’t either 😂🤩🤗 It’s been a fantastic year and I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for us all. Happy New Year to you 🥳
Ooo that gooseberry sounds like my solitary cherry. I can totally relate to how immense that one little berry was to savour. I didn’t share, hope you didn’t either 😂🤩🤗 It’s been a fantastic year and I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for us all. Happy New Year to you 🥳
Thank you so much. It’s been an amazing journey, getting to know and understand my new growing space. I’m over the moon with the 3rd place. Mind blowing news. Here’s to a wonderful 2025 for all of us, filled with an abundance of produce, colour and good health as well 🥳
You've had an amazing first year Clare 😁. We're due another storm on New Years day but then some real cold weather. I'm so looking forward to Spring and hopefully a proper summer for 2025. Happy New Year to you and the family x
I’ve just looked at our forecast and New Year’s Day isn’t looking great either. Quite a bit of rain New Year’s Eve too. 🙈 Lovely morning today, gone cloudy now though. Here’s hoping we enjoy a good season for 2025 and the sun makes more of an appearance for us, especially in spring. It’s been a wonderful year. I’m sad to see it go ❤️ Happy New Year to you and all of your family too 🥳🤗
Wow what a fantastic year Clare, congratulations on getting 3rd prize from Kitchen Garden 👍🏻 looking forward to see what the 2nd season holds 🪴🌶️ 🥔 🥬 🥕 🌻
Thanks Sue I’m looking forward to the season ahead too. Very shocked to have been placed third. Nearly floored me when I received the email. Such an unexpected honour. Wishing you a happy new year and a successful growing season for 2025.
Lovely to see most things coming along well in your garden. My highlights were my onions and squash. And of course, the Tomatopocalypse! Looks like you're having similar weather to us. I don't see any sun in the forecast, but plenty of wind! (way too much! - batten down the hatches). I've still got no doors on my polycarbonate tunnel. I don't think I will - no mould and letting the epic wind through seems better to me than worrying about them blowing about. Oooh , oca! I want to try them, but only if they can be eaten unpeeled!
That sounds a good idea to keep the doors off for now Kirsty. We could do with a bit of a breeze to blow through the tunnel again. It’s been so still and damp for days now. I do open them all day. Here’s hoping for no damage with the forecast winds. We’ve rain forecast over the next few days. So many highlights here. Looking back over a few episodes for some snippets, I’d forgotten how good those onions were and how lovely all the flowers looked over summer. Made me so excited for the season ahead. I’ve not tried the Oca yet. That’s on today’s menu. I’m hoping I don’t need to peel them too.. or there won’t be any left! 😂 Happy New Year to you. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us and the growing season plentiful 🙌🏼🥳
Congratulations on your award Clare. Very well deserved. Your plot has come on leaps and bounds in just one season. Great vlog as usual. Your enthusiasm and joy is lovely to watch. Can't wait to see what 2025 brings and looking forward to the progress on the wash house. Happy new year to you and your family 😊
Thank you so much Linda. It’s been such an amazing and rewarding year and I’ve loved sharing it with you. Feels like chatting with friends in the community section. It’s such a highlight of my week. I’m so excited for 2025. So many plans. Wishing a very Happy New Year to you and your family 🥳
I love the fact that you take the time to reply to your subscribers! Thank you for that and also the information you share with us. This novice grower appreciates that immensely. See you next year!
@@lindajones3015 it’s a bit tricky keeping up with comments sometimes (especially on the Victorian wash room video) but my channel growth is built on the foundation of our community and I will never take that for granted. You are very important to me. See you next Sunday.. not sure what’ll be getting up to! 😬😬
Just so wonderful to look back over this Clare! What a fantastic first full year you have had 🎉🪴I have learnt so much from watching you and your restoration of the wash house is something I can’t wait to see more of! 😍 Congratulations on getting 3rd prize from Kitchen Garden magazine! 🎉 I think I will be in the March 25 edition too as vlogger of the month! Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you at one of the garden shows in the new year! 🪴💚
Ooo twinning is winning Sarah! I’ll look forward to seeing you in there too. ❤️🥳 It’s been such a wild year.. so much learned, so much joy too. I’ve thoroughly loved every moment of it (ok..maybe not the rats in the compost bin ha!) Looking forward to developing the garden more in 2025, as there’s a few changes to make, and of course making the wash house a central hub for the growing space. Thanks so much for the support along the way. Here’s to a great year for all of us. Happy New Year ❤️🥳
Thanks so much Stella. I was blown away. It’s been such a journey this last twelve months. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead. Happy New Year to you 🥳
It’s been so dismal and gloomy this last week. But of sun today but there’s a lot of rain forecast this week. I’m completely overwhelmed by the placing. It’s been such a great end to the year. Wishing you, Al and all the family a happy and healthy 2025 and much success in your lovely garden ❤️🥳
Congratulations on a great year. I am at the age of finding the years go so quickly that I am usually hesitant to say Roll on 2025! But this year has been really tough having lost both parents in the last 2 months so I really am looking forward to a new year. On the plus side, I harvested my garlic yesterday and got 12 huge bulbs which I am really chuffed about. One bucket of oca got strimmed by accident the other day so not sure if it will regrow. Luckily I have more planted elsewhere.
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of both of your parents, so close together too. This is understandably been a very difficult end to the year for you. My deepest condolences to you. 🤗 I think the gardens are a great leveller and comfort to us, as they show us the circle of life as well as a growth showing that life does go on, even when we feel at our lowest in a pit of grief.. your garlic harvest is a great reminder of both. I hope 2025 sees a happier year for you and time slows for both of us, so we get to enjoy more days in the garden. Sending you love, good health and peace for the new year.
Work ***shudder*** I’m so lucky that my work is at home. 2024 has been a whirlwind and such a joy. So many highlights, including meeting so many people, including you and Tricia. Let’s hope for more of the same, with more sun in spring/summer, for 2025. Happy new year to you all x
A Lovely look back on the year Clare ❤ Crops looking good in the polytunnel on the main. Shame about the violas but I'm sure you'll find a replacement in the spring for some colour. Congratulations on your Kitchen Garden success and prize.🥳 Looking forward to seeing you in the magazine in March 🥦🥕🥬 Brassica beds look fab and phasilia are going to look so pretty in flower. I didn't get around to sowing mine 🤭 Leeks doing great 👍😃 You always work so hard and your garden always looks amazing 👏 what a star you are 🤩 I need to harvest my occa too, can't wait! 😂 A harvest is a harvest Clare no matter how big or small 👍😃 I'm sure copper bowl will look great when all the rust is removed. Well done for doing it yourself 👍👏 Good luck with your onions, I'm sure they'll be fab. Happy New Year, enjoy the celebrations 🎉🥳❤ xx
Thanks Linda. What a surprise that email was! Nearly floored me. ❤️😘 It’s been a fantastic year hasn’t it? In spite of some dubious weather we have all enjoyed so many wonderful harvests and floral displays. I cannot wait for summer 2025 now. I bet you have loads of plans for your plots too, including the polytunnel build. Looking forward to seeing it all come together. Here’s to 2025, wishing you and a Doug a very Happy New Year and a successful one at that ❤️🥳
Massive congratulations, Clare, on your 3rd place win. 🎉 You've set the bar for yourself now. What a fantastic 2024 you've had. I wish you great success in the coming year. Can't wait to watch 😊😊 Happy New Year to you & Duncan x
Thanks Jacqui. I think the 2024 season is going to be a tough act to follow but I am excited to see where it takes us. ❤️❤️ Thanks so much for your support over this season. Looking forward to sharing all the new plans with you over the new growing season. Happy New Year (when it arrives) to you 🥳🥳
Many congratulations on your magazine placing and your lovely prize. May I suggest you call your washshed Copper House - just for ease. Happy New Year. See you in 2025. X
That’s a cute name for it. I was going to call it the Wash House, simply because the wash copper actually only being cast iron sparks a tad of confusion already. 😂 It has a lovely ring to it though Christina. Hmmm you’ve got me thinking now. Thank you for the congratulations and here’s to a wonderful 2025 for you. Let’s hope it’s a good one for all of us 🤗
Fantastic year Clare ,amazing job 🥇😍 I would remove the fleece protecting the lettuce in the polytunnel.Better for the salad to freeze and thaw and it should stop the mold 😊
It’s been such a whirlwind, Susie. Thank you so much for the support and advice this year. I haven’t been dropping the fleece over the lettuces and did leave it in position all last winter too, but maybe it would give a bit more flow behind them. I’ll roll it up behind, on top of the stakes, to see if that helps. Wishing you a happy new year and a wonderful growing season for 2025
@ I was very pleased with it. So many tiny ones, which worried me more for how impossible they’ll be to remove, to give more growing space next year. Might need to sieve the bed 😂🤯🤯 The room was designed to be used a glorified garden shed, and still will be. I just can’t remove something that feels historically important
What a year Claire!!! Wow you definitely deserve a massive pat on the back girl 🙌🏻 has Duncan got a small grinder, if he has you need a wire wheel on a the grinder to remove the rust, take you half the time, use a soft brass wheel to finish it to a fair polished. Good luck, will look great when you've finished. Can't wait for season 2 🥰
Thanks Jimmy. It’s been a whirlwind but so much fun. I’ve never felt so content as I do in this era of my life. Wish I’d started growing vegetables years ago now. Duncan’s got some brushes for the drill I think, not sure if he had for the angle grinder. We can get some. I just wanted to get an idea of where it was surface rust or if it’d penetrated deeper. The wash copper looks pretty strong and intact. I’m so excited to have that space to add as the hub of the garden. Thanks for your support. Wishing you a very happy new year. 🥳
@TheFarmyardGarden ah you're so welcome Claire. It's been a fantastic journey watching the garden come to life this year. I grew some bits and bobs this year for the first time in 20 years, and indoors in my flat lol. Don't think I'll be doing it again tho, as I was inundated with flies 🙈 Keep up the great content Claire, and wishing you and your family a very prosperous and happy new year 🎉
Wowsers Clare! It’s been a true pleasure watching your progress, your achievements have been a joy to see And a big fat super dooper well done on your Mahoosive sub count! Well done!! Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much Pammie. You’ve been here since pretty much the beginning too. It’s been a whirlwind hasn’t it? Thank you for sharing the journey with me (and the sub count refreshes!) Here’s hoping we both have a wonderful growing season for 2025. Looking back over this year, it’s made me quite excited to see all the colour and greenery back again in 2025. Bring it on! Happy New Year to you and Dave 🤗❤️🥳
@ indeed I have 🥰 late night refreshes have been great memories! 👏🏻 If I get my sweetcorn next year I’ll consider it to be a great year. I am very excited for it all to get going! Anything you’re most excited to grow? I’m off buying my seed potatoes today 😂 Daves itching to get back in his shorts, looking at next weeks cold front I think it’ll be a while yet lol
Lovely plot tour Clare, very exciting about extending your fruit cage, homegrown strawberries are so great. Well done on your award, you must have been pleased. Did you enter the competition or did they find you online?
Thanks Bethan. I am SO excited to get the new fruit cage extension built. I toyed with the idea of this size right from the off. Would have saved some work now, had I don’t that 😬😬 Soft fruit are so expensive to buy, so being able to grow more at home would be such a bonus. I’m looking forward to getting it all sorted. I entered the Top Plotter competition over late summer. Danny suggested it to me. I never expected to be placed. Could have knocked me down with a feather 😱😍🤩 You should enter it next year. Keep any eye out for them announcing it over summer. Happy New Year to you and your family. Here’s to an excellent 2025 growing season ❤️
@TheFarmyardGarden I can see you extending the whole veg patch soon 😂 Once you have the bug you can never grow enough!! Thanks for the info about the competition, maybe I will but congratulations again, you deserved to come first. Happy New Year to you and all your family as well. Take care 😍
What an amazing season you have had, through lots of your hard work! You are a joy to watch, and I love your tinker Bell giggle! Thankyou for all your advice, I take a lot of inspiration from you! I started my vlogging allotment journey this month, and I have so much more to learn from you all! Have a great New Year, and an amazing growing season x Tilly
It’s been such an amazing season Tilly. I’ve loved almost every second of it (maybe not the rats in the compost bin though 😂) I cannot stop the harvest giggle.. it just pops out. So much joy 😂☺️ I’ve just hopped over and seen you’ve got a new plot to expand in to. What a lot of work you’ve got to do. It’s going to be amazing. Thanks for your support. Wishing you a happy new year and an excellent 2025 growing season 🥳
@TheFarmyardGarden thankyou so much for checking my new channel out, that's so kind of you 😍 I'm currently checking out seed catalogues, I've already brought my "loofahs" 😘 I'll mention you in that video if I'm successful 😂 Have a great day Claire, much love, Tilly x
Thanks Jayne. It’s been such a whirlwind and a steep learning curve too. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. To have been placed third in the competition has truly surprised me. Wishing you a Happy New Year 🥳
Congratulations on your 3rd place. You had an amazing 1st year in your garden despite the horrendous weather we had this year. So, a big well done to you 👍👏❤ HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉❤
Thanks Siggi, it’s really been a wonderful first year in the garden. Here’s hoping 2025 sees us blessed with a warmer and drier spring/summer. We deserve it. I still remember lockdown spring of 2020 and how amazing the weather was. More of that weather please 🙏🏻 Happy New Year to you and yours. Hope 2025 is a kind and wonderful year for you both in and out of the garden ❤️
Hi Claire. The award was well deserved. Your plot and produce have been fantastic. How do you keep the veg in the polytunnel so blemish free? Mine is munched and marked 🥴. The red onions I sowed on Boxing Day are Mammoth too. I haven’t grown them before so I look forward to seeing how they go. Have a fab New Year. All the best. Mags
Hi Mags I did put down some oregano slug deterrent pellets when I first planted out but they seemed to attract rats to eat them. Every morning the pellets would be gone, so I stopped using them. 🙈😬 I’ve not grow the mammoth before either, so we’re in this together! Looking forward to seeing how they go too. Still in shock over the placing. It’s so unexpected. Wishing you a wonderful new year. Here’s to a great growing season ❤️🙌🏼
@ I do have a balcony, but my lease only allows for 2 plants in terra cotta pots. We tried sneaking a few more and were swiftly threatened with eviction.
@TheFarmyardGarden awesome! I can’t wait. It’s such a special little place, I hope it comes to great use for you. It’s nice to see history come back to life instead of being torn down.
Absolutely agree. I think it’s quite fortunate that my late father in law abandoned using it, as I suspect the wash copper would have been removed had he still been using the space in recent decades.
What a year! And that's a good oca harvest!! In my experience the big tubers are few and far between - but like you I think I'm prob planting too close together. Plot looks neat and tidy even at the end of Dec too! Hope the fog lifts soon tho. Happy new year to you and Duncan ❤🎉
I’m definitely going to try to plant some elsewhere (ooo plot extension anyone) and give them more space. That can be our little challenge to ourselves… who can grow the biggest/heaviest oca in 2025. 😬😬 It’s been such a great year. So many plans for 2025. Cannot wait to see you develop your new plot. Exiting!!!! Sunnier this morning but rain forecast all next week. 😭😭 Happy New Year to you, Liam, the plot squad and Dorie. Special mention to Aunty Barb.. May she remain ever savage for the year ahead 😂❤️❤️
Congrats on your 3rd place.🥉🎉 You have been one of the most successful veg gardeners I've watched this year. And you still are, look at that polytunnel! And for a first time growing ocas, that's a great harvest. We've had that foggy, soggy weather too all Christmas, it's lifted today and I hope it lifts for you too. I believe your success comes from good soil. Hope to hear some more wows from your harvest in 2025. Also looking forward to the restoration of the wash house, that's a fun project. And you know I love the animals, so I'd love to see more clips of them, and I hope they have a safe New Years eve. 😘
Wow, Trude, what a lovely comment to read. Made me all emotional! It’s certainly been an amazing year. If 2025 is more of the same, I’ll be a happy lady (although a bit less rain would make me happy!) The damp fog has lifted today. It’s a lovely bright day. Sadly we have a lot of rain forecast from Tuesday onwards. 😬 I do think the soil below my raised beds is pretty good, clean soil. It used to be a vegetable garden in some of this area about 40 years ago, so previously cultivated before becoming pasture. I have so many plans for the next growing season and this channel. Hoping to include a bit more farm life, testing the water bit by bit there with the regulars. Lots of wows and childish giggles to come top, I hope. Are you growing anything new for 2025? Happy New Year to you and yours. May it be a successful, happy and healthy year for you 🥳❤️
@TheFarmyardGarden Anything new? Yes, so many seeds, and so little space. 😂I want to grow several brassicas and root vegetables plus lots of beans which I just barely tried at the end of last season. New varieties of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers too. And I've collected tons of flower seeds. The plan is to find a garden in the spring, so I will just start sowing and take it as it comes. Better to end up with too many seedlings instead of too few. I've gotten better at killing seedlings now, that was very hard the first year. Also, they can be sold or given away. Happy new year!🤩
I don’t like having to choose which seedlings get to stay and which to give up on. So many decisions. I cannot imagine how people who breed dogs/cats choose which one to keep out of a litter. I’d never be able to decide. 😂 There’s a plot extension coming! That lovely new fence is being moved 🙈😂 Good luck in your search for a garden. I’m excited to see it and heart about it over on insta. Happy New Year ❤️
Thanks Chrissie. It’s been such an amazing year. It’s not sunk in yet, to have been placed third, so it was almost just a mention in passing 😬😬😂 Here’s to a wonderful growing season for us all. Happy New Year 🥳
Thanks Ady. I cannot tell you how shocked I was to be placed third. You should enter next year.. your garden is so beautiful. 🤩 It’s been a fantastic year for me. Looking back and seeing the vegetable garden so full of colour and structure, it’s making me long for those days again. Cannot wait! Looking forward to all 2025 has to offer, whilst hoping the weather is kind and the season is plentiful for us all. Happy New Year to you. 🥳
Thank you Karen, it really has been a great year. I have been so lucky and completely blown away over the 3rd placing. Happy New Year to you. Here’s to a wonderful 2025 growing season for all of us ❤️🎉
I think that could be something to try, although there’s some gels out there you can paint on, which could be less troublesome than many litres of cola. I agree though, it does work well!
Lordy.. surely not? I’ll basically just be a Victorian Wash house channel soon 😂😂 It’s been an amazing year hasn’t it? So many highs. Was lovely to look back on a few highlights. I’d forgotten just how lovely the flowers looked in their prime. Here’s to seeing where 2025 takes us. Happy New Year to you all. 🥳
Unreal isn’t it? I mean it’s epic and I’m blown away but it’s also incredibly shocking Happy New Year indeed! Hope it’s a good one for you and yours ❤️🎉
Now, let’s see if you can hit 100k views on the video before 2025…🤞 Yes, I believe we are all going to experience storms. Snow forecast for the weekend. It’s going to be a rough few days in 2025. 😂❤️🥂
What a year it’s been!
What have been your highlights from the 2024 growing season?
Roll on 2025... 😂
Sweet potatoes & cantaloupes in zone 6a!! Planning for 2025!🎉
❤️
I’d like to try sweet potatoes next year too. I also found the cantaloupes to be one of the highlights for this year.
Happy New Year to you
@TheFarmyardGarden I am reading about straw bale gardening and using them to grow warm loving crops. Sweet potatoes & melons would be good options! It’s exciting to know it can be done here in New Hampshire.
What an amazing year! Congratulations on your award. It is well deserved! Your hard work has paid off by the joy on your face with each video.
Thank you so much Kathleen. It was such a surprise.
I’ve loved every moment of 2024, getting acquainted with my growing space and enjoy life at a simpler pace.
It truly is priceless, growing your own. Addicted! Happy New Year to you and your family. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good year for us all ❤️🎉
@TheFarmyardGardenWishing you a Happy New Year as well! May the new year bring joy and wonderment🎉
💕💕
It’s been a wonderful first full season with such a lovely dedicated growing space.
Wishing you a blessed growing season in 2025 ❤️
@TheFarmyardGarden Aww, bless you 🙂
🤗
Looking forward to giving it a go
Happy New Year to you. Here’s hoping 2025 will be a good year for us all ☺️
Beautiful Oca harvest, Clare, and huge congratulations 🎊 on the KG mag win 🏆 👏 😊
Thank you so much Maiju. It was such a surprise when the email from KG Magazine came through.
On reflection, I think my Oca was planted too close together, so I’ll give it more room next year and see how that goes. So many tubers though. They’re such lovely plants to grow
Hope you had a lovely Christmas. Happy New Year to you all. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good season for us all. 🤩🤗
What a great reflection on your first year! Congratulations.
Thank you so much, Mark. It’s been a whirlwind. I am really excited to see how you, Josie and Kerry develop your new growing spaces for the forthcoming season.
Happy New Year. Here’s hoping 2025 is a good year for us all. 🎉
An absolutely brilliant way to end the year - well done!
Thank you so much Jane. It’s been a wonderful year. Looking forward to getting my teeth stuck in to 2025 now ❤️❤️
Happy New Year to you and Mike.
Claire, your garden is gorgeous I’m not surprised you placed in the top 3 congratulations!🫛🥦🥬🥒🌶️🤗
Thank you so much. I was over the moon when I received the email notifying me. Such an overwhelming honour. ❤️🤩
Wishing you a Happy New Year. 🥳
@ A very Happy New Year to you and your family 🥂🤗
Thank you ☺️
Congrats on the Kitchen Garden award Clare!
@TheFarmyardGarden Wasn't going to either but sowing onions so may as well!
@ exactly.. that’s the mindset that gets us motivated. Bring on the 2025 growing season ❤️
Happy new year Clare, I've loved watching you make and grow the garden in 2024, can't wait to see what's in store for 2025. Xx
Thanks Jenny. It’s been an amazing year. I’m so lucky. I’m looking forward to seeing what we all get up to in 2025 ❤️
Congratulations on your prize Clare, very well deserved!
I think I planted mine too close together, so would definitely give some more room to them next year but I’ve left behind loads of tiny ones, will need to soil sieve some out I think
They were pretty thirsty. Had to water them far more than other plants around them
Here’s hoping next year gives better rewards. 😭🤗
@ hmmmmm I probably failed on the watering front too!! 🤣 thanks for that info Clare. Hopefully 2025 will be my year of the Oca 😆
I hope so Anita! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I didn’t share, hope you didn’t either 😂🤩🤗
It’s been a fantastic year and I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for us all.
Happy New Year to you 🥳
Ooo that gooseberry sounds like my solitary cherry. I can totally relate to how immense that one little berry was to savour. I didn’t share, hope you didn’t either 😂🤩🤗
It’s been a fantastic year and I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for us all.
Happy New Year to you 🥳
An amazing 1st year, congratulations on your 3rd place win, have a fantastic 2025
Thank you so much. It’s been an amazing journey, getting to know and understand my new growing space. I’m over the moon with the 3rd place. Mind blowing news.
Here’s to a wonderful 2025 for all of us, filled with an abundance of produce, colour and good health as well 🥳
All the very best for 2025 😊
Thanks Christine. If 2025 could just be a bit less wet, we’d all be thrilled wouldn’t we?
Happy New Year to you 🥳
You've had an amazing first year Clare 😁.
Lovely morning today, gone cloudy now though.
Here’s hoping we enjoy a good season for 2025 and the sun makes more of an appearance for us, especially in spring. It’s been a wonderful year. I’m sad to see it go ❤️
Happy New Year to you and all of your family too 🥳🤗
Wow what a fantastic year Clare, congratulations on getting 3rd prize from Kitchen Garden 👍🏻 looking forward to see what the 2nd season holds 🪴🌶️ 🥔 🥬 🥕 🌻
Thanks Sue
I’m looking forward to the season ahead too. Very shocked to have been placed third. Nearly floored me when I received the email. Such an unexpected honour.
Wishing you a happy new year and a successful growing season for 2025.
@ and to you and your family
Thank you 🤗
Lovely to see most things coming along well in your garden.
Happy New Year to you.
❤
Just so wonderful to look back over this Clare! What a fantastic first full year you have had 🎉🪴I have learnt so much from watching you and your restoration of the wash house is something I can’t wait to see more of! 😍
Congratulations on getting 3rd prize from Kitchen Garden magazine! 🎉 I think I will be in the March 25 edition too as vlogger of the month!
Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you at one of the garden shows in the new year! 🪴💚
Ooo twinning is winning Sarah! I’ll look forward to seeing you in there too. ❤️🥳
It’s been such a wild year.. so much learned, so much joy too. I’ve thoroughly loved every moment of it (ok..maybe not the rats in the compost bin ha!)
Looking forward to developing the garden more in 2025, as there’s a few changes to make, and of course making the wash house a central hub for the growing space.
Thanks so much for the support along the way. Here’s to a great year for all of us. Happy New Year ❤️🥳
congratulations on coming third 🎉
Thanks so much Stella. I was blown away. It’s been such a journey this last twelve months. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead.
Happy New Year to you 🥳
@ hopefully we will have better weather next year ☺️
CONGRATS on placing 3rd in the "Plotter of the Year".
WOW you are soggy at the moment.
Happy New Year
🎆🥂🎉
It’s been so dismal and gloomy this last week. But of sun today but there’s a lot of rain forecast this week.
I’m completely overwhelmed by the placing. It’s been such a great end to the year.
Wishing you, Al and all the family a happy and healthy 2025 and much success in your lovely garden ❤️🥳
😊 dear Clare dear Duncan 🏡 Happy New Year 2025 🎄 best wishes ☺️🌸☘️
Thank you. Happy New Year to you too 💕🎉
A lovely tour Clare🌱
Thanks Lisa. Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy 2025… and a very successful growing season for all of us
Congratulations Clare ... have really enjoyed watching your vlogs this year , you are a great inspiration
Thank you so much Joanne. Happy New Year to you 🤗
Congratulations on a great year.
I think the gardens are a great leveller and comfort to us, as they show us the circle of life as well as a growth showing that life does go on, even when we feel at our lowest in a pit of grief.. your garlic harvest is a great reminder of both.
I hope 2025 sees a happier year for you and time slows for both of us, so we get to enjoy more days in the garden.
Sending you love, good health and peace for the new year.
Lovely prize 👍 happy new growing year clare 😊
There were some truly amazing prizes. I feel very lucky.
Happy New Year, Elizabeth. Hope 2025 is a good one for you 🥳
I did start to watch this morning then had to go to work meh 😂
Fantastic achievements gained in the whole of 2024!!! ❤
Work ***shudder***
I’m so lucky that my work is at home. 2024 has been a whirlwind and such a joy. So many highlights, including meeting so many people, including you and Tricia.
Let’s hope for more of the same, with more sun in spring/summer, for 2025.
Happy new year to you all x
@ thank you, yeah into 25 with fire 🔥 in my belly !!! Glad to have our paths meet 🥰 somethings are just meant to be x
Home and chilling now 😘
@Mamma Bear is 🔥
Definitely meant to be x
Excellent 😃🎉
I subscribed to your channel 🙏
Thanks for watching and subscribing 😊
A Lovely look back on the year Clare ❤
Crops looking good in the polytunnel on the main. Shame about the violas but I'm sure you'll find a replacement in the spring for some colour.
Congratulations on your Kitchen Garden success and prize.🥳 Looking forward to seeing you in the magazine in March 🥦🥕🥬
Brassica beds look fab and phasilia are going to look so pretty in flower. I didn't get around to sowing mine 🤭
Leeks doing great 👍😃
You always work so hard and your garden always looks amazing 👏 what a star you are 🤩
I need to harvest my occa too, can't wait! 😂 A harvest is a harvest Clare no matter how big or small 👍😃
I'm sure copper bowl will look great when all the rust is removed. Well done for doing it yourself 👍👏
Good luck with your onions, I'm sure they'll be fab.
Happy New Year, enjoy the celebrations 🎉🥳❤ xx
Thanks Linda. What a surprise that email was! Nearly floored me. ❤️😘
It’s been a fantastic year hasn’t it? In spite of some dubious weather we have all enjoyed so many wonderful harvests and floral displays. I cannot wait for summer 2025 now.
I bet you have loads of plans for your plots too, including the polytunnel build. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.
Here’s to 2025, wishing you and a Doug a very Happy New Year and a successful one at that ❤️🥳
@TheFarmyardGarden Thank you Clare 😘 ❤️ xxx
Massive congratulations, Clare, on your 3rd place win. 🎉
You've set the bar for yourself now.
What a fantastic 2024 you've had.
I wish you great success in the coming year. Can't wait to watch 😊😊
Happy New Year to you & Duncan x
Thanks Jacqui. I think the 2024 season is going to be a tough act to follow but I am excited to see where it takes us. ❤️❤️
Thanks so much for your support over this season. Looking forward to sharing all the new plans with you over the new growing season.
Happy New Year (when it arrives) to you 🥳🥳
@TheFarmyardGarden hopefully 2025 will be even better 🥕😋😊
Many congratulations on your magazine placing and your lovely prize.
May I suggest you call your washshed Copper House - just for ease.
Happy New Year. See you in 2025. X
That’s a cute name for it. I was going to call it the Wash House, simply because the wash copper actually only being cast iron sparks a tad of confusion already. 😂
It has a lovely ring to it though Christina.
Wishing you a happy new year and a wonderful growing season for 2025
Great gardening year for you 🌝👍 Let the next year be as successful as this year 🎊🎆🎉🎇
Thank you so much. I’ll be a very lucky lady if 2025 is as good as 2024. Here’s hoping it’s a successful year for all of us.
Happy New Year 🥳
I know not gardening related, but I'd love to see how the wash copper comes along
Me too, Natalie, me too. The room is destined to become a usual space for my garden prep, so it’ll feature heavily on the channel ☺️
Great to hear, its a beautiful space. Love your content and enthusiasm, I was delighted to see you got a decent oca harvest! Happy New year!
@ I was very pleased with it. So many tiny ones, which worried me more for how impossible they’ll be to remove, to give more growing space next year. Might need to sieve the bed 😂🤯🤯
The room was designed to be used a glorified garden shed, and still will be.
Don't think I'll be doing it again tho, as I was inundated with flies 🙈
Keep up the great content Claire, and wishing you and your family a very prosperous and happy new year 🎉
Wowsers Clare! It’s been a true pleasure watching your progress, your achievements have been a joy to see
And a big fat super dooper well done on your Mahoosive sub count! Well done!!
Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much Pammie. You’ve been here since pretty much the beginning too. It’s been a whirlwind hasn’t it? Thank you for sharing the journey with me (and the sub count refreshes!)
Here’s hoping we both have a wonderful growing season for 2025. Looking back over this year, it’s made me quite excited to see all the colour and greenery back again in 2025.
Bring it on! Happy New Year to you and Dave 🤗❤️🥳
@ indeed I have 🥰 late night refreshes have been great memories! 👏🏻
If I get my sweetcorn next year I’ll consider it to be a great year. I am very excited for it all to get going! Anything you’re most excited to grow? I’m off buying my seed potatoes today 😂
Daves itching to get back in his shorts, looking at next weeks cold front I think it’ll be a while yet lol
Would have saved some work now, had I don’t that 😬😬
Soft fruit are so expensive to buy, so being able to grow more at home would be such a bonus. I’m looking forward to getting it all sorted.
I entered the Top Plotter competition over late summer. Danny suggested it to me. I never expected to be placed. Could have knocked me down with a feather 😱😍🤩
You should enter it next year.
Take care 😍
Funny you should say that… watch this space! 😂
What an amazing season you have had, through lots of your hard work!
You are a joy to watch, and I love your tinker Bell giggle!
Thankyou for all your advice, I take a lot of inspiration from you!
I started my vlogging allotment journey this month, and I have so much more to learn from you all!
Have a great New Year, and an amazing growing season x
Tilly
It’s been such an amazing season Tilly. I’ve loved almost every second of it (maybe not the rats in the compost bin though 😂)
I cannot stop the harvest giggle.. it just pops out. So much joy 😂☺️
I’ve just hopped over and seen you’ve got a new plot to expand in to. What a lot of work you’ve got to do. It’s going to be amazing.
Thanks for your support. Wishing you a happy new year and an excellent 2025 growing season 🥳
@TheFarmyardGarden thankyou so much for checking my new channel out, that's so kind of you 😍
I'm currently checking out seed catalogues, I've already brought my "loofahs" 😘 I'll mention you in that video if I'm successful 😂
Have a great day Claire, much love, Tilly x
@ ooo good luck growing your own sponges. Such a joy ❤️
Congratulations Clare!
Thanks Jayne. It’s been such a whirlwind and a steep learning curve too. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it.
To have been placed third in the competition has truly surprised me.
Wishing you a Happy New Year 🥳
@ well deserved!
Thank you. So kind of you to say ❤️
Congratulations on your 3rd place. You had an amazing 1st year in your garden despite the horrendous weather we had this year. So, a big well done to you 👍👏❤
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉❤
Thanks Siggi, it’s really been a wonderful first year in the garden. Here’s hoping 2025 sees us blessed with a warmer and drier spring/summer. We deserve it.
I still remember lockdown spring of 2020 and how amazing the weather was. More of that weather please 🙏🏻
Happy New Year to you and yours.
Mags
Hi Mags
I did put down some oregano slug deterrent pellets when I first planted out but they seemed to attract rats to eat them. Every morning the pellets would be gone, so I stopped using them. 🙈😬
I’ve not grow the mammoth before either, so we’re in this together! Looking forward to seeing how they go too.
Still in shock over the placing. It’s so unexpected. Wishing you a wonderful new year. Here’s to a great growing season ❤️🙌🏼
I wish I could grow some of my own vegetables. I live in a tiny apartment with no outside green space, and we don’t have allotments in Los Angeles.
Oh wow, that’s such a shame. The allotment scheme in some countries is lovely for people such as yourselves. Do you have a balcony?
@ I do have a balcony, but my lease only allows for 2 plants in terra cotta pots. We tried sneaking a few more and were swiftly threatened with eviction.
How is the restoration of the little building going? I can’t wait to see more about the process.
We haven’t done anything yet. There will be a video in a couple of weeks dedicated to the building and what we do next with it ☺️
@TheFarmyardGarden awesome!
It’s been such a great year. So many plans for 2025. Cannot wait to see you develop your new plot. Exiting!!!!
Sunnier this morning but rain forecast all next week. 😭😭
Happy New Year to you, Liam, the plot squad and Dorie. Special mention to Aunty Barb.. May she remain ever savage for the year ahead 😂❤️❤️
@TheFarmyardGarden 🤣🤣🤣
If 2025 is more of the same, I’ll be a happy lady (although a bit less rain would make me happy!)
The damp fog has lifted today. It’s a lovely bright day. Sadly we have a lot of rain forecast from Tuesday onwards. 😬
I do think the soil below my raised beds is pretty good, clean soil.
There’s a plot extension coming! That lovely new fence is being moved 🙈😂
Good luck in your search for a garden. I’m excited to see it and heart about it over on insta. Happy New Year ❤️
That's amazing Claire congratulations! Happy New Year x
Thanks Chrissie. It’s been such an amazing year. It’s not sunk in yet, to have been placed third, so it was almost just a mention in passing 😬😬😂
Here’s to a wonderful growing season for us all. Happy New Year 🥳
Happy New year Clare, congrats on the kitchen garden award. Well done on what has been a very successful year growing and harvesting.
Thanks Ady. I cannot tell you how shocked I was to be placed third. You should enter next year.. your garden is so beautiful. 🤩
It’s been a fantastic year for me. Looking back and seeing the vegetable garden so full of colour and structure, it’s making me long for those days again. Cannot wait!
Looking forward to all 2025 has to offer, whilst hoping the weather is kind and the season is plentiful for us all.
Happy New Year to you. 🥳
100,000 views on New Year’s Day 😉👍❤️🥂
It’s a pretty good start to the year isn’t it? Never to be repeated.. peaked too soon on day one of year 😂😂🥳
Wow you have had a fantastic year and congratulations on coming 3rd in The Kitchen Garden 🎉
Wishing you a wonderful 2025 🌻🥰
Thank you Karen, it really has been a great year. I have been so lucky and completely blown away over the 3rd placing.
Happy New Year to you. Here’s to a wonderful 2025 growing season for all of us ❤️🎉
❤
What about trying some Coca-Cola ..Mum used to have a copper in her house for washing .❤
I think that could be something to try, although there’s some gels out there you can paint on, which could be less troublesome than many litres of cola. I agree though, it does work well!
Well, what a year it has been. Could it finish with an 8? 😉🤞❤️xxx
Lordy.. surely not? I’ll basically just be a Victorian Wash house channel soon 😂😂
It’s been an amazing year hasn’t it? So many highs. Was lovely to look back on a few highlights. I’d forgotten just how lovely the flowers looked in their prime.
Here’s to seeing where 2025 takes us. Happy New Year to you all. 🥳
Well, 8.060+ 😉😂👍
Happy new year to you! Well done. ❤️👍xxx
Unreal isn’t it? I mean it’s epic and I’m blown away but it’s also incredibly shocking
Happy New Year indeed! Hope it’s a good one for you and yours ❤️🎉
Now, let’s see if you can hit 100k views on the video before 2025…🤞
Yes, I believe we are all going to experience storms. Snow forecast for the weekend. It’s going to be a rough few days in 2025. 😂❤️🥂
