Wow, this channel is growing on me🌱 You have figured out how to do this very efficiently. Bravo! Having moved to a home with a conservatory and space for only two raised beds, I find your approach very helpful indeed. Thank you from southern Sweden, zone 7.
Happy new year Steve and everyone else watching! I have big plans for my garden this year but so much work that needs to be done😊 cant wait to get seeds started 😊
Can u do peas without lights? Great video very interesting, love how U have it all planned out and ready to go. I've brought all my seeds ready for the season, can't wait to get started
Always love seeing what you’re up to Steve! I’m pretty much starting fresh as I’ve just about got my new ground ready to start planting (planted ten fruit trees just before Christmas) so have nothing growing yet and have just started seeding - started some lettuce and salad onions today, as well as the last of my autumn onions, shallots and garlic (sets). Blasted mice have been nibbling at my seed potatoes so I’ve had to protect them better, and will have to look at traps!
You can find them on Amazon, they are in my Amazon shop too, they don’t have holes, I drill them myself although at this time of year they don’t need watering that much so the holes aren’t really used amzn.to/40gj6qW
Happy New Year Steve. Fingers crossed we get a good 2025 for growing fruit & veg! Do you get a problem with pollination when you start plants early (eg strawbs & peppers) as they would be indoors most of the time with access for bees?
Hi Mick, peppers are self fertile, so that’s not an issue, they don’t need bees. Strawberries are usually wind pollinated outside, so with the doors open they do a reasonable job on their own. However I do use a soft brush on fruits in March and April, when it’s often too cold to open the doors wide.
Hi Steve, your growing guide for the February link keeps taking me to January instead; not sure if it is me doing something wrong or if the link is faulty. Happy New Year to you and your family.
hi steve, I want to ask why only pablo and boltardy? I would like to start beetroot with the seeds I have but maybe not worth it if not the varieties you recommend? I also want to ask you if I need to harden off seedlings growing indoors under grow lights right now that I am planning to plant out in low tunnels in jan/feb? how should I harden them off?
Pablo and boltardy don’t go to seed from an early sowing, white and golden varieties need it warmer. So if you have other red varieties you can try them but I’ve not had much luck until mid-Feb except with Pablo and Boltardy. Hardening off depends on what you are planting, lettuce, spinach and Asian greens and brassicas are all fine under a low tunnel provided you pick a week of reasonable weather, ie no hard frost and protected from the wind.
So would I be excited ...if I had a chunking great piece of land with a gigantic greenhouse...! But I don't..! why not make a video for us poor people with small space gardening? Happy new year..🎉 good for you goodbye
I only make videos on what I do, I don’t have any real experience to help beyond the chapter in my ebook on the topic. There’s plenty of small space growers out there. Looking good, Steve. Can I ask about your grey trays with spinach etc. Where do you source them and do they have drainage holes ?
You can find them on Amazon, they are in my Amazon shop too, they don’t have holes, I drill them myself although at this time of year they don’t need watering that much so the holes aren’t really used amzn.to/40gj6qW
