    Looks great! I appreciate the video,I ordered and received for my Ridgeline yesterday. I have to install my Bedrug then I’ll do the Diamond back. Thanks again!

    Never realized the drop between cab and bed. I’m looking to do this on a 22 Frontier. Nice that DB provided the metal shim kit 👍😎 Renegades are definitely over priced for my taste. DB seems to have cornered this market very well in functionality, styling, accessories, and quality at a better price.

    No one ever talks about the Renegade tonneau cover. I'm trying to decide between diamondback hd or renegade, but there are literally no video on Renegae other than the company videos. All complaints I've seen about the diamondback are about the top not being flush, and the Renegade solves that issue. Just not quite certain on pulling the trigger on an expensive cover that doesn't have any videos lol

      Thanks for the comment. Honestly I never looked into the Renegade. I saw enough positive reviews on the DiamondBack and went that direction.
      As far as being flush I think that comes down to people not tightening their bolts down evenly. You can adjust how tight you have the doors clamped down and that is all done with tightening the bolts. So far I don’t have any complaints.

      Dang I just looked up the Renegade cover. Looks fantastic and has an even higher payload than the DB SE or HD covers. But that price though. I think a DB cover is about as much as I’m willing to spend, but if I win the lottery I may have to change my mind.

      I think DB did a perfect job on the price point. Super great quality, warranty, customer service. They provide it all and I love how it is American Made

      Check out this video on the Renegade truck cover. It was done by someone who purchased one and gave his review on it.

    This is amazing. Does it block the view at all from the rear mirror?

    So awesome! This cover looks great! What made you choose the smooth finish over the diamond plate?

    • @tacomafishing1770
      @tacomafishing1770  3 роки тому +3

      It was just a personal preference to go with the smooth finish. I think the smooth finish looks better on a midsize truck, if I had a Tundra I probably would go with the diamond plate

    Thanks for this video. How hot does it get in summer time under the cover ?

    Do you recommend sealing the cab side with silicone. How is that holding up?

    • @tacomafishing1770
      @tacomafishing1770  4 роки тому +4

      I used silicone and it did not hold up well. I would recommend using Flex Paste Black, it is from the Flex Seal products. It is great in all environments/temperatures.

    How much does the cover itself weigh?

    • @tacomafishing1770
      @tacomafishing1770  3 роки тому +4

      I don't know the exact weight total for the cover. But each panel only weighs 35 pounds. I would say in total the whole cover weighs less then 100 pounds

    NICE WORK! I just got mine for the Tacoma but my instructions say I have to remove the bed rail, shim it and reinstall. Did you do that? Do you recommend? It seems unnecessary.

      Tacoma Fishing Does the bed have any leaks or is it completely weather proof?

    • @tacomafishing1770
      @tacomafishing1770  4 роки тому +1

      @@zanebonar123, actually I found a couple this past weekend. We had some heavy storms. Going to go back and see if I can reinforce the caulking job I did.

    loovin the setup -u change the tires or anything? and what running boards are you running?

    • @tacomafishing1770
      @tacomafishing1770  3 роки тому +1

      When I picked up the truck I had the dealership swap my tires out. I put on BFG K02 265/70/16. The running boards are, APS Truck Armor Side Steps.

    Awesome cover, I'm patiently waiting for the same. How's the weatherproofing? Did you seal the bed (side caps, cubbies and tailgate)? Any issues with water or dust intrusion? Did you weigh down each end while installing so the cover would lock flat with the seal compressed?

    • @tacomafishing1770
      @tacomafishing1770  4 роки тому +1

      The weatherproofing has been awesome, minus a couple of flaws from Toyota and not Diamondback. I sealed the bed by the cab as I showed in the video and that was the only placed that I sealed. I would recommend Flex Seal caulking in black, that seems to be the best quality on the market and it matches the bed well.
      I am going to have to go back and seal a couple of spots on the Toyota Bed Cap around the lip of the bed. I have noticed that water is getting under the plastic cap in 2-3 spots when I go through a car wash.
      As far as weighing down the cover. I did not do that but I did have another person assisting me when I installed the cover. He was able to put pressure where I needed it. It took me a couple of times to get the cover properly set, and you will experience this when you go to lock the cover down. It might be tight on one side but lose on the other. You can adjust this with the bolts and nuts.
      Once you get it set perfectly you will LOVE the cover. This cover will last the life of my truck and I am excited about that. If you run into any problems don't hesitate to reach out and I will help out where I can. Good Luck and Enjoy.

      Great video. I just got mine this weekend. Used this video for reference. Really helpful. After sealing i noticed additional spacing that needed more sealant aside from the spot shown in the video. It’s in the same area but underneath the shown spot you video’d. Did you have to as well? Also noticed a few drops of water on the side coming in so still learning. Let me know if you also experienced that and what else you did. TIA.

      @@tacomafishing1770 I installed mine a few months back. I have a new TRD Off Road 4X4 and got the HD cover. I have Yakama racks on top of the cover and have a rooftop tent I install on them. I’m just now setting up a UA-cam channel for my travels in the Tacoma. We shall see how it goes. Your video was well done.

      @@stevemac1956 thank you! There was not much to the install (as you know) so I didn’t want to bore people with me talking too much. I plan on getting a rack system (probably front runner) and a RTT one day.

    Why does everyone have to put crappy music on their videos? Just say what you're doing lol. Wtf.
