I was staggered that the story wasn’t, “Man City didn’t have to travel to Italy for their Champions League match like Arsenal did, had an extra day of rest, played the game at home, did so 11v10 for half of the match, and still couldn’t win.”
All City did was give Arteta lots of great whiteboard material. Especially Haaland with his “Stay Humble”. I would post that on the entrance to the training center.
When 'the hest team in the world' forces a 2-2 draw against a 1o-msn opponent, and celebrate as if they've won a trophy and the pundits don't question their celebration, ut says a lot about the punditry.
Pundits of late have been obtuse and banal of the highest. So let's back to Arsenal. Again we have such a schedule like Liverpool 27th Oct at home then tough (again away) to Preston, Newcastle, Inter Milan, and Chelsea!! So Charles how do you & everyone think of these hurdles? I know we have to play them at some stage but what has happened to home then away fixtures? Liamondo
All of them want to be Pep's best friends now cos they've thrown everything they could at him in the past but have no choice but to acknowledge that he's the best Coach ever in English football. All they could now is say good things about his team even if his team does any wrong.
It's not just that it's 3 games in a week, it's an away NLD, away game in Italy, and an away game against one of the best teams in England. The fact that we're still undefeated is a testament to Arteta's leadership and how far he's brought the team. That we can have those 3 games and Man City are celebrating a draw like Reiss Nelson just scored a last minute winner at Bournemouth is incredible.
I would strongly suggest that ALL ARSENAL FANS stop watching both Sky Sports and TalkSports. Their pundits have been consistently baiting Arsenal fans and Arsenal fans bite. Stop watching them!!!
I refuse to listen to Talksport. I can't stand any of them, especially Cundy. But I have to be honest, even our own Ray Parlour has some bad takes on there.
We know the truth. It's Arsenal against the world. That was almost certainly one of the best defensive performances I've ever seen and if we don't get a man sent off I'm confident we'd have taken 3 points at City. Screw the media, they are fools.
That where will the goals come from, we need a 25 goal striker is laziness. We had same GD with City... with a striker learning on the job and Jesus injured. Bukayo Leo Kai Martin Declan Gabriel Gabi Merino Jesus Raheem White.. all these will score lots.
I say start Nwaneri. He didn't just look good against Bolton, he looked great. I know Bolton aren't exactly PL opposition, but Nwaneri looked like he fit in with the rest of the team so well. I think he's earned his chance.
Ethan should start. He just looks so ready. We need him now, start him now. I think it would help not only Ethan, but all of the youth players at the club for Ethan to start.
Hi Charles. Pep’s comments that emerged last night/this morning when he was asked about Arteta commenting on City’s ‘dark arts’ were very telltale. He immediately twisted the question into what Arteta might have to say on City’s 130 rule breaking allegations by the PL. Really starting to get a sense that the charges, Arsenal and Rodri’s injury have led to a very palpable sense of worry from Pep. Personally, I love being able to smell the fear from him. Cormac, Dublin.
Tomiyasu time is running out love his quality but one more injury this season and he have to go,on the other injuries I feel city can cope without rodri they will concede but will out score opponent, seriously I rather we not be favorites what exactly that does? On odegaard its unbelievable without him you say we would be fighting for top 4 better do something cause he can be out again
Media did not fall into trap, Media IS setting the trap, clearly there are people who want to spread this through many channels. Guardian podcast used to be fun but lately its just Arsenal hate and weird comments 😂 amount of garbage being said just shows we are on top
I think we will see merino and hopefully tomiyasu as well post the international break. Hoping Odegaard isn't too far off as well 🙏. Things are looking good.
I really don't think Trossard should ever start for Arsenal. He lacks the impact off the ball as every other player in our squad. He is a great finisher and can pick the final pass, beyond that he does very little. I think he's been exceptionally good as a sub and exceptionally poor as a starter.
No way Mikel is starting Ethan ahead of Trossard in this game when he has PSG coming in mid week. Trossard still needs to get used to his mates playing in that Odegaard role. So the more he plays, the better for the team. Ethan can come on at the 65th minute.
"Arsenal sometimes do this, they make the rod for their own back" James basically blames Arsenal that they don't come out to speak more so that they get ahead of the narrative. This Charles is the reason why journalists are looked at with a bombastic side eye,, he basically described lazy journalism and framed it as if Arsenal ought to be using it.
Speaking of Jack and per, do you think having ex players at the core of football operations at Arsenal has helped shaped us to be where we are now?? And do you think this is something Man Utd is starting to emulate? (Nistelrooy) I know we've moved on from this, but do you think pundits giving wrong opinions like the one Roy made about Arsenal somehow get translated on the pitch?? Like referees suddenly start booking Raya for time wasting (something that's actually normal in football) and does that also lead to clubs accusing us of cheating?? I do think pundits say a load of rubbish sometimes, but how much power do you think they really have. Apologise for the long read. I love the show!
The negative reaction is the uncomfortable realization by everyone else that Arsenal can and will win the PL. Arsenal have everything needed and will be difficult to stop short a red card every match. Now we’ll see it all play it out.
For me Nwaneri has to start. If we want a chance of winning this league and doing well in cup comps we will have to utilise the whole squad, coming off the back of a brace in his starting debut, playing against one of the PLs weakest opposition teams who haven't won a single game yet, if you can't trust him in this game, then you can't really trust him at all
Morning Charles I absolutely love the show. Can you do a pole to see how many people would rather Jesus scoring 25 goals in a season and arsenal don’t win the league or him playing well getting 15-20 assists and arsenal winning the league, because as fan we complain so much about something that the players himself clearly stated is not his strong point but clearly contributes in other areas
As much as I hate to agree with City and Spurs players, fixture congestion is becoming the biggest problem in football. I propose that no team in European competition should play in a league cup. I would also completely scrap Nations League and reduce the European competitions back to fewer matches. I want to beat City with Rodri and Martin both on the pitch.
We are in exiting times, it is great to be an Arsenal supporter, what we did to Man City have no words, they know we are in a position to finish the season ahead of them, that is why they found it so joyful to have scored against 10 man Arsenal lol...... Just imagine what could have happened with 11 man Arsenal, hey that is yet to come at the Emirates.....
Arsenal have the best defence in the league, we all know that. So I looked to see the odds on going unbeaten for the season, City are 33-1, Arsenal are not far behind at 40-1. I think out of the two, after seeing the match between them, Arsenal should be favourites not City.
I don't think it's about is Nwaneri good enough to start. More about if he has a bad game, bc everyone can, can he handle all the super dramatic the negative media that will get heaped on him "he's not ready! He's not ready!"
Hi Charles and James! Here's to a swift recovery, James. You're not alone at all. Here in the States we have so many cases that the government has made at-home test requests free again (they're usually about $20). Unfortunately it's become endemic and we'll be dealing with it forever like the flu. In terms of Arsenal, I would love to know if you both buy into the Wirtz rumors flying around. I think he would be a great fit at left 8, but that also now leaves Trossard in a weird space where he's potentially third choice for everything. Do you think (assuming he does well this season) we try to get Sterling from Chelsea on a permanent?
All I can remember is Roderye sliding on his knees at Highbury, giving it the biggen after City employed the dark arts following getting Gabbi sent off and diving for a penalty. K A R M A 🔴⚪️
The question becomes which Defense Against the Dark Professor does our professor most resemble? I would say Remus Lupin and not just because he brought our beloved "Win" to the club. We have the Basque Werewolf.
@@kunimitsune177 I stand corrected indeed. Defence Against the Dark Arts-teta. He's definitely not Severus Snape though I do think Snape was largely misunderstood.
Here is a likely scenario and narrative after this weekend: Arsenal win Leicester by a big margin - Free hit! They only attack bottom table teams🙄 Man City loses to Newcastle - This is how big teams play, Newcastle aren’t cowards like Arsenal, they took it to City 🤗
