Was my first trip to San Siro also and I also thought it looked like a space ship :) Our away support was so loud 🔥 and Inter fans also have great songs. A night to remember despite the result ❤️🤍
Thanks Charles and James. Nice video as always. Knowing Arteta's stubborn nature, I'm not expecting any real change any time soon. Nwaneri will not start, Arteta'll stick to his principle of "senior/experience players" over younger unproven players and systems. All you have to do is cast your mind back, he has done it many times. The most recent example is playing Havertz as a striker, that came about after Jesus got injured not because Arteta wanted to "shake" things up. Ask yourself this, when was the last Arteta shocked you (positively) with his starting 11 in the premier league? Regardless of form, he'll always stick to familiar experienced players, patterns and systems and will die on that hill. I've seen this many times. All one can hope for is for Odegaard to either get back fast or an injury/suspension to force his match selection. If not, we're in for one hell of a ride. Anyone remember his persistence with Willian? 😒
His Stubbornness and Arrogance has costed Arsenal the league two years in a row, now we are on the verge of fighting for 3-4 spot. To top it all off, another trophy less season. Arteta needs to move on.
Hey Charles & James…..any chance y’all can convince Arsenal to sign Gyokeres in January & not wait until the summer so we can save our season and get him before more competition in the summer
Why Odegard coming in will solve everything 1. He's a leader. He can command a team. 2.When he's on the pitch everyone is on toes. He can give the ball to anyone and if they are not ready they look incompetent. 3. His pressing and ball carry is what drove Arsenal into deep areas of opponents territory. 4. A major player returning boosts the morale of the players. Thus leading to higher performance. 5. Faith.
“Arsenal bubble” is spot on. Edu has voiced his ambition to progress in the ranks and with Garlick becoming CEO and someone from the back room being appointed Football Operations Manager, the writing was on the wall. Edu didn’t just want to be idle, so he took the only choice available to him.
Coaches should have 1 challenge per game that forces the referee to go to the monitor. The coach can give the section within the Law Book and ask the ref to review.
Have a Question for you and James : What point should we think its enough for Arteta at Arsenal? I have been a big fan of Arteta and the incredible change he has brought to Arsenal over the past 5 years. I truly believe no other manager in the past 2 decades had to go through this kind of journey and has come out of it so well. Clubs like United (although they won't admit) are dreaming for such a turnaround so they can get to where they were. The more I get to the results side of the things and see what has happened over the last 2.5 years it seems that this year we definitely need a trophy and only that warrants Arteta's future. I must say this was not my stance at the start of the season when I was thinking even if we do not get a trophy but we get to the last day of the Premier league season and loose to city I am fine with it. But now that I know we have dropped points in the first half of the season similar to last year especially when City have been dropping points as well brings me to this point. May it be City's brilliance or our injury issues or Liverpool's unexpected form, we just don't seem to get into a state where we can say we will get over the line once the season gets going. I am sure Arteta will be a really top successful manager across Europe and he will win major trophies some day. As for Arsenal, I think we are in a state that any top manager (like Guardiola, Ancellotti, etc) would atleast be interested if the time is right for them to move from their respective clubs. We won't want Arteta to move out of Arsenal at a time when a rebuild is required again. Still hope Arteta can turn things around and get us the PL trophy that we have been eagerly waiting for. What are your thoughts on it? Thanks Piyush
Succinctly- i think a trophy would be good for the players, but not the be all and end all unless its the PL or CL- we won 4 FA Cups from 2014 to 2020, but we were not good. Mikel is likely the 2nd best manager in the PL, and he is still learning so will only get better. It's always difficult when we have a bad patch like this, will have to see at the end of the season. BTW we'd have 2 more PL titles if City weren't such a cheating club 😊
A bit confused about Edu being on 6 month notice period but not actually working. Like, why won't he still be working for Arsenal for 6 more months? Isn't that the whole point, to make sure the club can have a smooth transition, find replacement etc? Or does that notice period mean something else?
He is put on leave during his notice period because he is going to a competitor organisation, so they have to remove him from up to date commercial and football related knowledge about the club
I'm baffled as to why Mikel never plays Jorginho. He's actually a more creative player than he gets credit for. If you had Partey dropping deep to cover for Jorgi's lack of pace, I think it was one of the better options whilst Martin was injured. Jorginho also offers the kind of defence splitting through-balls which we've lacked in the majority of our recent games.
jorginho was massively under rated last season imo. It was when he stepped into the 6 after their trip to saudi that we went on a run and started scoring
Ode is THE player that makes this team tick. Funny to watch the coments expressing that hey doesnt look like he is that missed somehow, though the concequences just kept om accumalating, like every players else on the team just play and perform increangsly sub-par.In addition all sofacouch experts are blind to that fact, and blame red cards are the reason for loosing besides the speculative conspiracy theories regarding refs and whatnot. Also currently taking into the account the sudden downturn in form for Man City, also they facing the real concequences of injuries and more injuries "explaining" real reasons for their side as well. Rodri warned the real issue at hand with his comments sometimes before his Ballon'dor price. No matter what a player is paid and earn on behalf of great personal contracts, it is really a physical challenge for most of the top tier players. Slowly but surely how matter what you earn it does not contribute to the quality of play, it really comes down to the amount of games of play, and the trend itself that the amount of games played is about unsustainable to keep the level of play not suffering because of that. There are limits to the human body and as follows the impact on it. At some point the concequences are injuries, no room to really heal inside the season. And it is kind of obvious when you see those players which normally don't easily get injuries and who also neither have been much injuried at all, or if, have rebounded soon. And as mentioned in the start of this comment, ODE is surely one of these. Final observation, taking a player like ODE, the fans seems to been lulled into that he that he is always there and playing and performing. And imho being taking mostly for granted. And suddenly when he has some rare injurie, the team of Arsenal is realistically suddenly just a team without creativity, stability and lack of strategies of coping. And to be honest, realistically more of a mid-table candicate. Rest of the players are just not able by them selves filling that void. He have been the player since he came serving 100% opporutinities and chances on a silver plater for receiveing forwards getting the best chances scoring on all those seemingly , but barely having the competence or skill to do so, except Havertz or maybe Trossard on occasion. And when the provider is out they at least are performing just not a little worse, but spectucular worse. You don't know what you have until it is gone, and in this situation so so obvious. Anyone might try to challenge this, though the facts and stats is as it is. Ode creates MOST chances for any forwards in fotball as of today, had they just scored accordingly Arsenal should be well ahead of any competitors in PL. Unfortunatley somewhat being taken for granted ARSENAL currently are facing the concequences of that. Not to say the skewed and selected view on english players alone is not helping. Say Rice, for example, when he has 2 games in a row playing great he is automatically placed on the usual english pedestal as some obvious WORLCLASS PLAYER (and he is not of course alone in that from the media and sofacouch analyst side of view). Hey, and I like RICE (its just and example) I get that, fotball is emotions and a subjective experience of hoorays). And to wrap it all together receiving comments like HE/ODE is responsible more that others to adding silverware and real results to the legacy of this club is more that a paradox by itself. Unless this sink in and the club's fans can provide a better perspective in how we all can contribute to the continuing growth and success for the club we love so much, nothing will change. Compared to our greatest opponents we currently have the best of chances for a decade as a high performing and winning club as any What about focusing on a quality rotation partner for ODE, and get forwards that have the ability to score on more that just 1 out of 5 100% percents chance the sky is the limit imho. So much great focused work have put us on a path for being a top top club in the years ahead. Lets jus not wreck this due to impatience, negativty but instead continue to envision the real potential there really is today. One thing that might seems certain, take ODE for granted, stop supporting his hard work and contribution towards what he truly is, a leader by example (not by words, anyone can do that, that is easy). We have a captain that runs his socks of for the team even if we are 5-1 up and there is 5 minutes going until the whistle blows, that is rare and a blessing for any team. The day he stops giving his all, he has decided other options, options that truly wants to provide this fantastic player with some real opportunities for legacy and support on doing just that. And where to you think the short-term future of Arsenal will be then, realistically speaking....
Reactive window in January? Let’s hope we are not reacting to being out of the top four and being barely able to score a goal still .. it smacks of complacency to me and the club needs to be careful around giving Arteta too much power, we don’t know how this season is going to play out yet
Trossard is a bench player and this has been clear since he joined! I will say I was there when he scored vs Porto but he was still rubbish that game still and same as Chelsea at home last season. Nwaneri needs to start because every time he plays he’s like a spark for us. Vs Newcastle you could see he needs to learn a few runs and patterns of play but still think he can do something special.
I've always been curious - How do news like Edu's resignation Leak out to the press? Is it a normal /expected/welcomed thing that happens or is it because there's a snitch somewhere in the club that leaks such news (perhaps for money)? I've never been able to understand it. Perhaps someone can shed a light on it?
I’ve always assumed it’s someone who is close to edu or marinakis (spelling) not necessarily affiliated with the club at all. And I’d guess it’s probably unwelcome, they’d probably want it announced on their time, from both arsenal and edu’s perspective
On Nwaneri it’s simply a manager that is not brave. As you said he left us with no choice with no cover for Odegaard and yet Nwaneri still can’t start a single league game. So he will keep plodding along with this utterly useless formation of 442 with no actual out and out strikers. My worry when it comes to Arteta and youth players was PSV away last season. When quizzed on why no young players came on he said it was because it wasn’t the right environment. That game was literally a friendly, yet he would rather put Rice at CB just like he did with Merino playing as a 10 at Bournemouth than do the most obvious thing. Give Nwaneri a chance.
Hi 👋 guys 👋, I hope all is good 👋 👦 ☺️ 👍 😊 🙏. I agree with your starting 11 Charles. COYG to thrash Chelsea God willing 🙏. Have a great day guys 😂. Arsenal rocks 🏆 🙏 🤲 🪨 🎸 😎.
Hi Charles, why not Marina Vladimirovna Granovskai? She did a fantastic job at Chelsea. We need a killer in that job. Edu couldn’t sell water in a desert. Gave away Auba for free and Barca sold him for 12 million just 6 months later
The Marina who “reportedly” used Chelsea funds to buy a house ? Those offshore funds might end up in Chelsea fighting charges. Please end this nonsense suggestions
Really at my breaking point with arteta, uninventive football and forcing Kai into midfield where it has never worked, crossing into an empty box. Love the team and our fans but I don’t know he’s looking more like Spanish Brendan Rodgers everyday.
Charles, make this a 1 hour long show, add some chat about blur vs oasis etc, these are great episodes. 2 ppl always wins over 1 guys talking to himself. Not meaning this in a bad way obviously, asking for more :)
And the summer wind I just looks worse every week. Arteta has to go if things don’t improve before Christmas no more excuse be active owners and start driving this club forward!!! Or sell up!!!!
Arteta's treatment of Nwaneri is why I don't rate him as a manager! You don't have such a player and keep him on the bench when he is your most creative player besides odegaard!

Great show as always. I look forward to these episodes every week, keep it up!
Benge brought out the sweater again - this really must be an emergency situation. 🚨
Great show as always, thank you both. Our path of victory starts tomorrow. Come on you Gunners! Cheers from Florida!
