thank you so much for these videos i have been doing ballet for 8 years and i am in grade 5 and these videos really help me to work on my technique. however i would probably say they would be a bit too advanced for beginners. xx
Dear sweet Kathryn, I am a 56 year old beginner! I love these video's. I have been searching so long to find. Do you have any where you teach showing with your back to us? I am having a very difficult time following you. You are simply amazing and what an inspiration to us all!
Hi Kathryn! I watch your videos from New Caledonia (French Island in the south Pacific) and I would really like to thank you for your precious tips!!! I've been practising ballet dancing since I'm 4, and I still LOVE it today (I'm 32), but here in my tiny island, there is not many professionnal dancers and teachers who can help me improving. That's why your videos help me very very much!!! (And at the same time, I can practise also my English!) Please keep on posting your videos :)
You have no idea how happy I am to find your channel ! I've been away from ballet for a decade because of adulting and have been craving coming back to it for so long. This is absolutely perfect, thank you!
HELLO KATHRYN MORGAN.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOU'RE BALLET CLASSES.I AM USING YOU'RE PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEGDE IN MY BALLET CLASSES.I FEEL SO GOOD AND I AM SO PROUD OF HAVING YOU AS MY BALLET TEACHER,GETTING PRIVED CLASSES FROM ABROAD.FROM FAR BUT CLOSE IN MY HEART.LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
Kathryn, your ballet instructional brings back so much of what I learned back in the day and just simply forgot haha. I'm older and am teaching worship dance to young girls and church ladies now. I use the ballet to help "condition" them, if you will. Thank you SO much for giving of yourself and taking the time to teach us. And, to add, I simply enjoy watching you! You're beautiful through and through!
Hi Kathryn! I love this workout, I´ve done it three times so far and will repeat it! From 4 to 13 years I danced ballett and then quit, so I´m a bit rusty now. Could you please add a further centre workout for beginners, please? That would be much appreciated.
Hey, thanks so much for doing this video! I already know many of the basic steps, but never really danced them in combinations to a song, I have really been looking for something like this for a long time. I really enjoy this format, and would be happy if you would do other videos in this format as well.
I love your centre work for beginners, which often can be repetitive in open classes.Amazing work, your way of explaining is very clear! Please keep creating lovely simple but beautiful routines for beginners/improvers. Thank you.
I hope I'm not being disrespectful by asking this, but can you maybe do an intro level tutorial video that breaks down combinations and steps for some of us who have not have formal ballet classes in a very long time and find ourselves sort of jumping around looking silly with our feet almost going in knots? Or something to practice the technique of toot work patterns? I know I'm probably way way beginner compared to most of your viewers but this video was a lot of fun and I'd like to practice the footwork to make me better at even some of the easier steps.
@@ingridlduarte I'm going to check her out too thanks. I think that as a professional ballet dancer she doesn't know what beginner is, lol. Cause this isn't beginner.
@@chevon1920 this is beginner. Beginner doesn’t mean easy, it just means going through the steps slowly and using proper technique. It’s the best way to improve and get stronger and it teaches beginners to use the right muscles in their body.
I love using these videos for when I am not at the studio! I use this one all of the time and I have shared it with a few of my friends and teachers! We love your videos! xoxo
Perfect for students who have some grounding in basics. Just what I'm looking for after watching my daughter for years and having started lessons. I can see why someone who's not had the basics will be confused. So many terms for the positions and steps that would definitely need explaining and demonstrating. I'd not recommend this for beginners.
I just skipped to various poinst in the video and then I found you dancing to LES MISERABLES!!! How amazing is that, I will defitively do this workout tomorrow!
I love your center workouts! They really help we to see what I need to work on and allow me a great opportunity to practice outside of the studio! Will you be putting more center videos up soon?
I loved this video! I was checking out ballet lesson videos and wanted one that was beginner level but more than just stretches, yet was still a good workout and challenging. And this video had everything and more. Hope you do lots more ballet videos.👍👍👍
I love all your videos and I have been practiced for a while! Thank you so much for uploading these for adults who want to learn ballet at home! Could you also update this video without introduction? I know you have done for your previous videos. It would be much convenient if you could upload the one without intro! Thank you!
I love your videos they help me so much but this is much harder than the ballet barre so could you make the same video but as easy as that? It still helps though xx
Hello this workouts are amazing I download in my phone like music, so I can practice before class like a warm up an improve my technique so when I don't have internet I can practice. Love your videos.
I love your videos! Thank you for sharing your talents. I'm a musical theatre lady and dance is my weakest skill. After one week I already feel so much more confident. I feel like I will be able to at least hold my own in a dance audition without looking like a total goof : ) lol.
The first 7 minutes are easy, then it got a little tricky but maybe one day I will be able to do that combination, just wish you had gone a little slower or explained more thanks for these videos I danced growing up but miss it and need to get back in shape :)
This has helped me so much!!!! Thanks so much! Your so open and honest about everything and I just love you and your videos so so much! Could you please do a video about your best and most helpful dance tips? xxx
I love your workouts, if you can do more of this it will be awsome! I have danced ballet for three years and i watch advanced classes in youtube, and when the teacher says the combination just one time, all dancers know what it is and for me its diffucult to remember the combination that i watch. In class my teacher says the combination two times and if somebody haven't catch it all the combination she repeated. Is normal in my case to do not remeber all the combination?
Dear Katie, Do you have a video on how to do port de bras correctly? I'm having trouble understanding how to use your back muscles to move your arms... thank you! xx
hey Kathryn, do you have this class uploaded without intros? Loving your classes as they help me recover from injury and get back to auditioning. Sending love from London
thank you beautiful dancing. the only way i can manage my legs fairly successfully, is in water. unfortunately it is freezing, so you need to remember and quickly with the movements. it is usually twenty minutes for a workout.
I love this video im beginner at pointe can you do a video with a pointe dance choreography there isnt any video in this kind at youtube i would be so happy greetings from Germany
Loving this centre practise. Which method did you learn? The arabesques in the adagio confused me. I learnt RAD and opposite arm to back leg was 2nd arabesque. Just curious. Thank you from the UK. You’ve revived my love of ballet and can’t wait to get back to classes when lockdown relaxes (it’s been years).
Hi Kathryn! I was wondering if u could do a class on how 2 build up the muscles u need 4 pointe b/c I’m trying 2 get there but I need a twinge of guidance and who better 2 ask than u?!?! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was curious about your channel, so I decided to do this centre ballet sequence instead of something from Lazy Dancer Tips, like I traditionally do. I can tell that you are a professional, experienced ballerina! Perhaps I should continue practicing ballet barre with Lazy Dancer Tips rather than immediately performing something more formal. Lol.
I can't help but think of Kathryn from Cruel Intentions every time I see your name lol! Especially since Sarah had dark hair in the movie as well :). But thank you so much for uploading this. I love ballet style workouts, as I kind of wish that my parents had enrolled me into those when I was younger since it's harder to learn as you grow older. But nevertheless it's an excellent workout anyways to achieve a more svelte figure xx
Kathryn - I teach ballet in Nicaragua and have used your videos in class. But, we do not always have electricity and hoped you had DVDs I could use for instruction. Are they available?
Hey Katie! You're amazing and you are my idol, but I do have a question. I'm not sure if they are the same thing, but the meanings of some of the ballet vocab are different to what I was taught. You stated that Efface meant erased, but I was told it meant Shaded, and the position in the first tondus (En Face) I was told that it was a la quatrieme devant, meaning fourth position to the front. Are these just variations of meanings or are they different? I do Cecchetti Method and I know that some of our names are strange e.g Chaines (turns) = petit tours, and battement en cloche = Battement balance, is it something similar?
Can you do a no-intro or short-intro version of this? I love the "without intro" classes once I've got the basics down as it makes it short enough to do nearly every day. Since this is more complicated but still for beginners, perhaps you could keep just the first explanation of the coming section? Enough to jog our memories but short enough to keep us moving through the whole class. Trying to get the little bar over to the right time stamp on UA-cam is annoying at best and nearly impossible on a small phone screen. Thank you for all your hard work.
can you please repost this without the intros? i love these videos. i am working my way back up to taking classes after a long break and these are perfect.
Thanks for this! At 60, I am still doing little center workouts on my own.
Anne McCrady I know this is an old comment and you probably won’t get my reply but you’ve inspired me (a disabled teen) to keep trying!

Really good video, though I'd say it would fit better for intermediate students or advanced beginners about to move onto intermediate

+Ingrid Duarte Thank you very much! I will search for her.

Xxxxx. Love how you use the space. Regardless it being small you really jump and extend. Brilliant.
Your channel is lifechanging seriously. Now I can do all the excercises outside my ballet class as well and I'm very happy about that! Thank you :)
this is perfect! please do more of these, it would be so helpful!

Your videos are great! They help me a lot with coming back to dancing after over 10 years break! Thank a lot for your effort!!! :)
Well done. Easy enough to follow with built in ways to step it up. thank you for this.
