Another neat thing about Bakken is that it's situated inside a large, beautiful royal forest - and so if you feel you need a break from the amusement park, you can just go on a nice forest stroll. And as mentioned, since there is no entrance fee you can just come and go as you like. Also, you can go by horse and carriage to the park directly from the train station if you don't feel like walking. On the whole, it's a very romantic place.
Very rare to find a "tour/review" video from Bakken. I applaud you for that. I live in USA now, but grew up in Copenhagen in the 60's and 70's, and Bakken holds some of my fondest memories..
What a lovely tour - and we are so glad you liked it here! It's always interesting to for us to get a new perspective on Bakken. Hope to see you again some other time :)
The theme parks in Denmark look so clean, classy, and well-themed. I would love to visit some of these. That's such a dream job. Travel the world and explore all of the different parks.
Yeah, the place where I grew up.(In the 60's) Been on that roller coaster too many times to count. Thanks for taking me back in time. Hello from Australia.
"If F-Zero took place on Hoth" painted a great image. I'm also many beers deep watching this video which I know you folks at In the Loop will appreciate.
I've loved Bakken my whole life. 'Spøgelsslottet' means 'the ghost castle', my dad tried to get me to try it on my own every time we were there when I as a child.
been there so many times and just by watching this gives me butterflies, I can't wait to drive over there and try them out again....after a year, I miss them all.
I love Bakken. As for Flitzers, Reithoffer Shows still has a portable one back in the US and I think Jolly Roger in Maryland got the old one from Jenkinson's.
Trivia: the wooden roller coaster of Bakken called Rutschebanen is the older sister ride of Vuoristorata from Linnanmäki of Helsinki, Finland; with minor diffrerences (Linnanmäki's tunnel is shorter, and the station is located nearer to the end of tunnel).
And Linnamäki's version also has the brake man which immediately is a huge win! But yeah the stuff with the Station used to be that way as well with Bakken's version before the new trains and brakes were installed
It's a gathering point for members of the Danish Santa Claus Guild. It's also a place with many activities during the annual World Santa Claus Congress in july, where Santas from all over the world meet up here at Bakken :)
Did you just call rutschebanen at Bakken smooth?! It’s one of if not the roughest coaster I’ve ever done and I’ve been riding this every year since 2014. Only reason I still ride it is because that you just can’t visit Bakken without a ride on the, ehm.. “good” old coaster ;) No but seriously if you think this is smooth then try out the one in Tivoli Gardens. It will be like floating on a sky. And btw rutschebanen at Bakken is from 1932 :)

The Castle Secret poster has a Mack Rides logo on the bottom left, so they almost certainly are the Europa Park mascots.
That beer tour looks awesome. Now I really want to go there.

Btw since nobody told you - frikadeller is usually pork and beef mixed

That Simulator ride is called the Doron SRV made by Doron Precision Systems for those who don't know.
Oh we adore this park
Now I’m impressed that this amusement park has been running for centuries

Very interesting Park...What was that Santa statue all about? Was there a Santa House or something?
I didn’t see anything while actually in the park Santa related, I’m guessing maybe that is open for a Christmas event
It's a gathering point for members of the Danish Santa Claus Guild. It's also a place with many activities during the annual World Santa Claus Congress in july, where Santas from all over the world meet up here at Bakken :)
Oldest theme park in the world and opened over 400 years ago?! Jesus Christ!
Oldest by a very large margin. The second oldest is Tivoli, which opened in 1843.
Some do argue that places like Wiener Prater is older but yeah, Bakken is old as heck!
