I did find fascinating what the first attractions were, until the lawyers. I think people would be upset if a bouncy house and a ball pit were attractions in a new land today. Although it was the target age range and I’m sure kids loved it. Thanks for another Great video.

I didn’t get to meet him then, but I did meet him years later about the age of 24 in a tent in Toon Town. By then, I was to shy to get a pic with him, because all the moms with babies etc. Now a days, don’t care anymore. I’ll wait for a pic. Jj I wish kids today had the privilege to at least walk into those homes of our favorite characters, but we’ll see if that’ll ever make it back. Thnk u Brickey
Loved this history of Toontown. I missed those early days - since we only went down to Escondido, I think I only visited once and rode Roger Rabbit. By the time my girls visited when they were little, the Jolly Trolly was gone. Would have loved to seen it. So great that the land is being revitalized. Great job- learned a lot.

I just can't help but go full out Roger Rabbit in my head when ur doing the intro. I just luv the way the 2 worlds collide in that movie, it will ALWAYS be one of my favs! Christopher Lloyd when he's getting closer and closer to the dip and he starts tooning out and his eyes pop out will always be a stand out memory oh and when Jessica is all "oh my God it's DIP"!! Is another gem that comes to mind. Oh oh oh and shave and a haircut, when Eddie is washing the dishes with Rog in the sink oh and Betty Boop! God, Betty Boop, u just don't get quality like that film anymore am I right Brick? Anyway, I've already spouted all this out and I'm only at minute like 7 of the video lol. I didnt realize Toon town was so new when I went in about 94 or 95, Sad I never made it back before the remodel. Chip n Dales treehouse was my favorite, the goons from Dick Tracy scared me.

Nice work on this one Brickey! So much stuff I didn’t know… Missed DL from about 76 to 2000, i.e., most of old Toontown. Remember my 6 yr old in 2000 was super excited to visit Goofy’ Bounce House, but it was closed since a child had thrown up in there. And ahh, the fabulous days of ball pits! We used to do them a lot, everywhere. Long gone now… Sad, but understandable.

I walked into Toontown for the first time in 2015, and had no idea what this land had been to what we experienced then. We are revisiting in May 2023 with a whole new view point. Once again, thank you for bringing this history to us in such a great video!

Very nice documentary about the land. My first Disneyland trip was is 1991 and I would have sworn room town was there, but those memories may have been universal studios. We were there the last week before Disneyland closed and it was pouring and most things weren’t operating. There was only a handful of people in the land but we had our best magical moment when Pluto showed up out of nowhere and started playing with my then 6 year old. Excited to go back and see how it’s all changed

I don’t know why but when you said “it was a place where there where no signs that say do not touch” got me emotional. I remember running around as a kid and feeling so free and mind blown by being in an actual cartoon world somthing I dreamed of as a kid. This place was magical and still my favorite spot in Disneyland

Do you know Mickey’s Toontown was the combine ideas 💡 of 2 Disneyland projects these include Mickeyland (or Mickey’s Starland which which was from Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom) a dedicated land to Mickey and his friends and which guests where able to meet Mickey and friends, it was also a meet and greet area and Hollywoodland which was gonna be build behind Main Street U.S.A. that includes Roger Rabbit’s Toontown, but then since much of the Disney Decade plans were canceled Mickeyland and Toontown from Hollywoodland were put together to become Mickey’s Toontown, that’s one ☝️ of the history facts to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland, right?

Hey Brickey just to let you know I really do believe that the fight that occurred in the middle of Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland, was not the real issue and not the real final downfall For Mickey's Toontown. The fight happened unexpectedly, and rudely interrupted the guests. For something that they didn't wanted to see and that their children did not wanted to see either at a Disney theme park. Some people out there say and believe that the fight that occurred in the middle of Toontown what's the final straw for the area at Disneyland, and that the final straw was that Toontown would really go into downfall. And lose popularity. Well obviously I believe that's not true because there had been other violence that occurred at the Disneyland Resort, that I found and saw on UA-cam from before. However they didn't go viral and shared on social media, but the fight in Mickey's Toontown was like the first. However there was videos on UA-cam that I found that people nowadays forgot, that there had been other violence that occurred at the Disneyland Resort. And the videos were even shown on the news from before as well because the past violence that occurred at the Disneyland Resort, was first shown and post it on UA-cam. Then it would be picked up by the news broadcast, that they would show it to the public and media. I remembered that happened at first, when UA-cam and news broadcasts had shown some violence from the Disneyland Resort. But at first it wasn't shared by social media. So anyway the number-one violence that I remembered that was shown on UA-cam, and I still believe you can still find it and watch it on UA-cam. And that was also shown on every TV news broadcasts, was the fight that occurred which is now guardians of the Galaxy mission breakout. Formerly once known as The twilight zone tower of terror at Disney California Adventure, was that there was a fight that occurred at the main entrance of the attraction. It was an argument between a alcohol abused man and a Disneyland Resort security man, the security pepper sprayed the guy. Because some say he became to Violet, and some say he wanted to pick a fight on the security. So there was a big fight that happened when other Disneyland Resort security personnel came in, so that they can try to handcuff the guy. But he refused to be handcuffed. I believe that man faced charges when he was arrested, and a Disneyland Resort security cast member told me that the security that use the pepper spray was terminated and fired from his job. Because nowadays they don't want any Disney security personnel to use something as a weapon, so they don't allow pepper spray or mace whatever you wanna call it anymore. Luckily they do dispatch the Anaheim Police department, and they have radio equipment that they can use on standby. To alert the Anaheim Police department, just in case if very big violence occurs. Another thing that was shown on UA-cam first, and then the other TV news broadcasts. What's the video of Pluto chasing a little boy in Town square of Main Street USA in Disneyland. I think there might have been another videos catching other violence from other areas of the Disneyland Resort, that were first posted on UA-cam and then shown on every TV news broadcasts. But the ones that I've mentioned, with Pluto chasing the little boy and the tower of terror main entrance violence fight. Those were the number one violence and terrible incident that was mention from every TV news broadcasts and UA-cam. They may have not been shared by social media, but the big fight that occurred in Mickey's Toontown had broke the record of being shown again and again on social media. And I believe that wasn't the first. Pluto chasing the little boy and the tower of terror main entrance fight where the first ones to be mentioned and shown to the public and media, from both UA-cam and every TV news broadcasts. Even though they didn't cross into social media, because nobody used cell phones to show everybody. From one cell phone to another, including emails, I also do believe they were never shown on Facebook. And back then there was no Instagram and no tiktok yet, those two videos never broke records into social media. But they did became part of the media and public by UA-cam and TV news broadcasts. So that was all that happened that occurred at the Disneyland Resort from before, even before the big fight in Mickey's Toontown. And the big fight I really believe did not become the final downfall For Mickey's Toontown. I do believe the real downfall For Mickey's Toontown was the little boy that got killed by accident, from Rodger rabbit's Car toon spin. I also believe the other downfall For Mickey's Toontown was that they stopped the Jolly Trolley aka the to Toontown Trolley, because it was an iconic transportation attraction just like the Disneyland Railroad. And the Disneyland monorail system, because kids of all ages especially the adults. All of them really loved riding on that trolleytransported between two areas in Mickey's Toontown, for some of them it was the best because it stopped right on front of Mickey's House. Because from there they just got off the trolley and went straight into Mickey's House, just to go see Mickey Mouse. And I was one of them that loved riding on that trolley first, just to be transported in front of Mickey's House. So I can be able to see Mickey after that. And of course some of them loved riding on that trolley, to take a grand circle tour of Mickey's Toontown. And for a very long time myself and other Disney fans, and Mickey's Toontown fanswe desperately waiting for the trolley to come back in operation. But now since it's gone, and Mickey's Toontown has brand new things, including the new attraction Mickey and Minnie's runaway. Myself and I believe other Disney fans, and Mickey's Toontown fans are disappointed that the to Town Trolley is completely gone. We're also sad and heartbroken that it's completely gone at the same time. 💔😢 And myself, Disney fans, Mickey's Toontown fans and even railfans really want the to Toontown Trolley to come back. So I hope it's possible that somebody who wants to dream and work for Walt Disney imagineering, and maybe if someone who works at Walt Disney imagineering could have the idea to bring back the tune Toontown Trolley. Because if the red car trolley at Disney California Adventure is really popular, and one of the best transportation attractions at the Disneyland Resort. Maybe the same technology, trolley driver cast members, motor-generators and roadpath surrounding the Railroad tracks. Like they did for the red car trolley at Disney California Adventure, could be built and make their way for Mickey's Toontown someday. If somebody can dream that up and hopefully if that person makes their way into Walt Disney imagineering, or if somebody from Walt Disney imagineering that worked on the red car trolley. And inspired by that transportation attraction, could have the idea to reimagine the Toontown Trolley for Mickey's Toontown. So hopefully it will be built and a re-imagined dream come true. Because Mickey's Toontown can't be complete without a trolley car attraction, to also be used for transportation at the same time. So who knows maybe someday this might happen, and Mickey's Toontown will finally be complete. For myself and other fans that will be happy, to have a trolley ride in Mickey's Toontown. But of course Mickey's Toontown will never be completed, as long as they will be new ideas to be made for the area at Disneyland. Mickey's Toontown might grow with other new ideas, that will become a reality put the area itself. I also believe Mickey's Toontown can't be complete without Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and his girlfriend Ortensia the Cat, those two characters need to be the next idea and meet and greet Disney characters For Mickey's Toontown. Because I believe those two Disney characters definitely fit for Mickey's Toontown at the same time, and I believe they belong there as well. Because not only they are a perfect fit for Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure, but I feel that they belong in Mickey's Toontown at the same time. After all since the 1980s, they brought back Pete, who had been a long-forgotten Disney character since then. And his last appearance at Disneyland was from the 1980s. And of course Pete definitely belongs for Mickey's Toontown, now he's back. And is here to stay at Mickey's Toontown for years to come, and from generations to generations. Horace Horse, Clarabelle Cow and Clarice the Chipmunk. And hopefully with Scrooge McDuck and Donald's nephew's Huey, Dewey and Louie need to come back and stay forever at Mickey's Toontown as well. And to complete the entire pack and cast of classic Disney cartoon characters at Mickey's Toontown needs to be Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Ortensia the Cat. I also believe that Rodger Rabbit should return to Mickey's Toontown as well, and hopefully Jessica Rabbit Rogers cartoon human wife should be there at the same time. First Disney needs to buy the rights of the Rodger Rabbit characters from Steven Spielberg's company Amblen, and if successful and if they do that. Hopefully both Rodger and Jessica can finally make their permanent home and meet-and-greet appearances For Mickey's Toontown. Mickey's Toontown definitely needs all of those classic cartoon characters as a full cast for the area itself at Disneyland, to make their future meet-and-greet appearances. To be totally completed. But of course other ideas might come about for Mickey's Toontown in between all of that, because Mickey's Toontown will never be completed. As long as it will grow with more ideas

I still cringe to hear Chapek's name. He really did damage to the parks, physically, with his middle management way of thinking as well as to cast members' peace of mind when he refused to support cast members against Florida's idiotically bigoted laws.

Hey Brickey just to let you know I really do believe that the fight that occurred in the middle of Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland, was not the real issue and not the real final downfall For Mickey's Toontown.
The fight happened unexpectedly, and rudely interrupted the guests. For something that they didn't wanted to see and that their children did not wanted to see either at a Disney theme park.
Some people out there say and believe that the fight that occurred in the middle of Toontown what's the final straw for the area at Disneyland, and that the final straw was that Toontown would really go into downfall. And lose popularity.
Well obviously I believe that's not true because there had been other violence that occurred at the Disneyland Resort, that I found and saw on UA-cam from before. However they didn't go viral and shared on social media, but the fight in Mickey's Toontown was like the first. However there was videos on UA-cam that I found that people nowadays forgot, that there had been other violence that occurred at the Disneyland Resort. And the videos were even shown on the news from before as well because the past violence that occurred at the Disneyland Resort, was first shown and post it on UA-cam. Then it would be picked up by the news broadcast, that they would show it to the public and media. I remembered that happened at first, when UA-cam and news broadcasts had shown some violence from the Disneyland Resort. But at first it wasn't shared by social media.
So anyway the number-one violence that I remembered that was shown on UA-cam, and I still believe you can still find it and watch it on UA-cam. And that was also shown on every TV news broadcasts, was the fight that occurred which is now guardians of the Galaxy mission breakout. Formerly once known as The twilight zone tower of terror at Disney California Adventure, was that there was a fight that occurred at the main entrance of the attraction. It was an argument between a alcohol abused man and a Disneyland Resort security man, the security pepper sprayed the guy. Because some say he became to Violet, and some say he wanted to pick a fight on the security.
So there was a big fight that happened when other Disneyland Resort security personnel came in, so that they can try to handcuff the guy. But he refused to be handcuffed. I believe that man faced charges when he was arrested, and a Disneyland Resort security cast member told me that the security that use the pepper spray was terminated and fired from his job. Because nowadays they don't want any Disney security personnel to use something as a weapon, so they don't allow pepper spray or mace whatever you wanna call it anymore. Luckily they do dispatch the Anaheim Police department, and they have radio equipment that they can use on standby. To alert the Anaheim Police department, just in case if very big violence occurs.
Another thing that was shown on UA-cam first, and then the other TV news broadcasts. What's the video of Pluto chasing a little boy in Town square of Main Street USA in Disneyland.
I think there might have been another videos catching other violence from other areas of the Disneyland Resort, that were first posted on UA-cam and then shown on every TV news broadcasts. But the ones that I've mentioned, with Pluto chasing the little boy and the tower of terror main entrance violence fight. Those were the number one violence and terrible incident that was mention from every TV news broadcasts and UA-cam.
They may have not been shared by social media, but the big fight that occurred in Mickey's Toontown had broke the record of being shown again and again on social media. And I believe that wasn't the first.
Pluto chasing the little boy and the tower of terror main entrance fight where the first ones to be mentioned and shown to the public and media, from both UA-cam and every TV news broadcasts. Even though they didn't cross into social media, because nobody used cell phones to show everybody. From one cell phone to another, including emails, I also do believe they were never shown on Facebook. And back then there was no Instagram and no tiktok yet, those two videos never broke records into social media. But they did became part of the media and public by UA-cam and TV news broadcasts.
So that was all that happened that occurred at the Disneyland Resort from before, even before the big fight in Mickey's Toontown.
And the big fight I really believe did not become the final downfall For Mickey's Toontown.
I do believe the real downfall For Mickey's Toontown was the little boy that got killed by accident, from Rodger rabbit's Car toon spin.
I also believe the other downfall For Mickey's Toontown was that they stopped the Jolly Trolley aka the to Toontown Trolley, because it was an iconic transportation attraction just like the Disneyland Railroad. And the Disneyland monorail system, because kids of all ages especially the adults. All of them really loved riding on that trolleytransported between two areas in Mickey's Toontown, for some of them it was the best because it stopped right on front of Mickey's House. Because from there they just got off the trolley and went straight into Mickey's House, just to go see Mickey Mouse. And I was one of them that loved riding on that trolley first, just to be transported in front of Mickey's House. So I can be able to see Mickey after that.
And of course some of them loved riding on that trolley, to take a grand circle tour of Mickey's Toontown.
And for a very long time myself and other Disney fans, and Mickey's Toontown fanswe desperately waiting for the trolley to come back in operation. But now since it's gone, and Mickey's Toontown has brand new things, including the new attraction Mickey and Minnie's runaway. Myself and I believe other Disney fans, and Mickey's Toontown fans are disappointed that the to Town Trolley is completely gone. We're also sad and heartbroken that it's completely gone at the same time. 💔😢
And myself, Disney fans, Mickey's Toontown fans and even railfans really want the to Toontown Trolley to come back.
So I hope it's possible that somebody who wants to dream and work for Walt Disney imagineering, and maybe if someone who works at Walt Disney imagineering could have the idea to bring back the tune Toontown Trolley.
Because if the red car trolley at Disney California Adventure is really popular, and one of the best transportation attractions at the Disneyland Resort. Maybe the same technology, trolley driver cast members, motor-generators and roadpath surrounding the Railroad tracks. Like they did for the red car trolley at Disney California Adventure, could be built and make their way for Mickey's Toontown someday.
If somebody can dream that up and hopefully if that person makes their way into Walt Disney imagineering, or if somebody from Walt Disney imagineering that worked on the red car trolley. And inspired by that transportation attraction, could have the idea to reimagine the Toontown Trolley for Mickey's Toontown. So hopefully it will be built and a re-imagined dream come true.
Because Mickey's Toontown can't be complete without a trolley car attraction, to also be used for transportation at the same time.
So who knows maybe someday this might happen, and Mickey's Toontown will finally be complete. For myself and other fans that will be happy, to have a trolley ride in Mickey's Toontown.
But of course Mickey's Toontown will never be completed, as long as they will be new ideas to be made for the area at Disneyland. Mickey's Toontown might grow with other new ideas, that will become a reality put the area itself.
I also believe Mickey's Toontown can't be complete without Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and his girlfriend Ortensia the Cat, those two characters need to be the next idea and meet and greet Disney characters For Mickey's Toontown. Because I believe those two Disney characters definitely fit for Mickey's Toontown at the same time, and I believe they belong there as well.
Because not only they are a perfect fit for Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure, but I feel that they belong in Mickey's Toontown at the same time. After all since the 1980s, they brought back Pete, who had been a long-forgotten Disney character since then. And his last appearance at Disneyland was from the 1980s.
And of course Pete definitely belongs for Mickey's Toontown, now he's back. And is here to stay at Mickey's Toontown for years to come, and from generations to generations.
Horace Horse, Clarabelle Cow and Clarice the Chipmunk. And hopefully with Scrooge McDuck and Donald's nephew's Huey, Dewey and Louie need to come back and stay forever at Mickey's Toontown as well.
And to complete the entire pack and cast of classic Disney cartoon characters at Mickey's Toontown needs to be Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Ortensia the Cat.
I also believe that Rodger Rabbit should return to Mickey's Toontown as well, and hopefully Jessica Rabbit Rogers cartoon human wife should be there at the same time. First Disney needs to buy the rights of the Rodger Rabbit characters from Steven Spielberg's company Amblen, and if successful and if they do that. Hopefully both Rodger and Jessica can finally make their permanent home and meet-and-greet appearances For Mickey's Toontown.
Mickey's Toontown definitely needs all of those classic cartoon characters as a full cast for the area itself at Disneyland, to make their future meet-and-greet appearances. To be totally completed.
But of course other ideas might come about for Mickey's Toontown in between all of that, because Mickey's Toontown will never be completed. As long as it will grow with more ideas
