- When temperatures plunge and the ice forms in Wisconsin in from Lake Michigan migrate some of the largest brown trout in the world. In also comes guide Kyle Deavers of Big Boy Fishing, who armed with BorX O Fire cured eggs and live Fire Dye minnows chases these monsters while ice fishing Milwaukee's harbors with rod and reel. Beneath the ice in Southeast Wisconsin's rivers and harbors lurk huge brown trout and fresh, chrome-bright steelhead. We joined Deavers to chase them in this episode of Pautzke Outdoors!

Biggest brown I ever caught was a 7.6 lb at dowdy lake in red feathers colorado. Caught a 20 inch rainbow at the poudre river on a panther Martin lure I found just minutes before I caught it!!!

How thick is the ice? How many browns can you keep?
It ranged depending on what area we fished. We catch and release all the browns so they grow even larger for future anglers!

whats that orange ball between the guides?
I use it for at times when the fish are bring picky I will pull the float down so the fish can take some line out before it fires off.

Thanks for your feedback. However, Milwaukee is one of the most heavily publicized fishing meccas in North America. It's not a secret.
Not to mention the money fisherman bring to your area while traveling and fishing helps your community in ways you don’t understand.
