From 7.64 to 7.04 on a 0-60 is a HUGE difference, it is in terms FASTER with no cam no tuner, no headers, NO UPGRADES and making of the difference of .60 on a 0-60 is amazing
His stock run was 7.27, his 0-30s were all pretty much identical. Trust me I wish they decreased 0-60 tune because I bought one but I ended up returning it
Good job. This is what I have been waiting for!! You answered my question. I have the 9-Drive on my 2014 Ram (its not a Dodge) and I love the way it FEELS. Oh well I like it. Keep up the vids.
I have a similar device for my car, I have an 05 Subaru Legacy GT AWD turbocharged and it’s much quicker which is making me change how much I press on the gas pedal and how hard I push the gas pedal. Every car I get from now has to have a 9 Drive not a pedal commander or a pedal box but an electronic gas control device which is what the 9 Drive is.
I put one on my patrol vehicle, a 1500 Ram. It does help for pursuit driving, but allow me to explain exactly why. Does it give more overall power?… absolutely not. What it does seem to do is help diminish the throttle lag. Daily driving, it makes it more fun for sure, but probably not necessary. For pursuit driving it makes all the difference. When I want to accelerate through the apex of a turn, now I have the ability to do so. Before, I’d accelerate, let’s say 1/3 throttle through the apex, but the 1500 would be like “screw you, you only get 1/8th throttle”. Anything over 2.5 setting, you’re just goofing off, but for precision driving on certain vehicles, it absolutely does make a difference over stock.
I have a 2017 Ram with the 5.7 L and my only complaint with this truck is the throttle lag especially when you're on the highway going around 60 to 70 it seems like it always wants to stay on the Eco and you really have to push down on the gas to get it to downshift which is annoying I'm glad to find out that it's not just my truck that does that but my pedal box thing will be here today I got the same one as this one so hopefully I get similar results
Dosn't just putting you foot down all the way do the same without the controller?? Since either way you're using no more than 100% throttle. How would it make 0-60 faster?
Great review! I know this video is about 2 years old now but going from 7.64 to 7.04 on a standing start is a massive difference. I watch Formula One and every tenth of a second is a huge advantage for any team. In F1 2004, one second was about 100 meters difference. By F1 2004 standards, that would be 60 meters ahead of my adversary. I know, we're not in F1 but you get the jist of what I'm saying.
Hey my Man, if you install the throttle Controller do you removed the battery or no? Im planning to install on my Own, but im afraid because might be pop the check engine light
Hi, I like your videos a lot and I am a subscriber because it helps me and others, if you don't mind can you give feedback regarding safety issues, My question is what if the throttle controller's device suddenly fails? or the little wire cut? Do we still have the control of gas pedal? or it will be back to normal mode? Thank you for hoping you can enlighten us. thank you again!
Turn the belt chime off. With truck turned off, buckle seat belt, turn truck to run without starting, unbuckle and rebuckle three times quickly, turn the truck off and open door, start the truck again and the chime should not go off.
These aren't tuners, you wont see any kind of performance gains. They're specifically for throttle response and minimizing the lag from pressing the pedal to takeoff.. not overall acceleration or top speed. RAMS are notorious for the lag when pressing the pedal. not really sure how you would capture that in a video but I personally like mine.
Where you launching it like you where racing? I normally 2 ft my truck out of the hole with my rpms up a bit. Idk how or if any change that'll make but I'll try it I literally just ordered my 9 drive 5 minutes ago lol
@@420GrizzlyDipper Have you tried a stand still 0-60 with throttler controller on max vs no controller at all? You will get the same exact out come assuming you mash the pedal as both will give you no more than 100% thottle.
Throttle lag, not engine lag. If you put your foot down 100% of the way without the throttle control (even on max settings) the out come will be the same, because both will be no more than 100% throttle input assuming you smash the throttle down.
At the drag strip it could help with reaction times off the line. Otherwise, it is great for lazy people who want less pedal effort and worse gas mileage. Lol

They make one
This is what I needed to see. I have a 2013. Nice

2.9 tbh
I don't think you like seat belts much. This is your 2nd video of bing, bing, bing, other than that, very informative video.🙂👍
Thank you for the comparison

Cool video !!! Did the 9drive eliminate the annoying factory eco “economy” setting ?
It does not but I noticed it doesn't go into eco mode as much
