This is the best video I've seen on Comma3X with an experimental --fork?--like frogpilot. You're clear, because you've got the points you want to make in mind. Not verbose. Pleasant voice! I'm watching a lot of videos getting ready to buy a new used car with the key features. I can chime in that many videos complain about Comma 3X lagging on the speed limit, so it may not be a setting issue. I'm wondering why you don't just contact Open Pilot and ask, and wondering if maybe it's that very little the techies say makes not only the least bit of sense to me and but perhaps also to you, which would surprise and reassure me. I'm investigating Open Pilot because I'm 80 and preparing to be 90 and mobile. Thanks for this video. I hope your job isn't abusing you.
Thank you for this demo! This video finally convinced my to buy comma 3x. I have an Ioniq 5 with HDA2, with the latest frogpilot loaded. I have mapbox set up and showing directions on my comma 3x, experimental mode on, and all the same toggles on your video, but it's not stopping/going at lights or doing any self navigation. How can I get that to work? Thanks.
Yes I was using Sunnypilot on the highway, speed limit was 110, cruise set to 120 and the car kept decellerating to 100 which makes it unusable. Had to pull over and turn off experimental mode. Not sure how to fix this either but clearly a major flaw
Hi sir. Thank you for this video. Really enjoyed your reviews. One of the best Comma 3X videos out there. Having said that, may I ask, after a few months of using the comma 3X, are you still on frog pilot? Or have your switched back to SP?
Not sure if you have your answer yet - but I believe the current OpenPilot and most of it's forks tweaks the driving behavior you speak bout (it feeling slow to respond from stops etc) under a setting call Chill Mode. In this mode it is less aggressive and there should be a setting allowing you to tweak it, to a standard mode or more aggressive driving mode.
Is the current wifi in my car (a T Mobile hot spot I carry with me, I don't have a cell phone, I use Google Voice, all wifi) going to be enough to run Comma 3X? Please bear in mind I know nothing whatsoever about wifi.
@@prevailz1 I think I like frogpilot better right now , but it’s really a toss up. There are more options on frogpilot, but they are both good in their own way. I watch for the updates on both.
@@EVERYTHINGcpo yeah i'm just waiting on another part because I have a few things plugged up there, fitcamx and hivemapper, so I'm getting another 12v dc out put up there and need to figure out my layout before installing everything. Plus need to figure out if DIMO autopi and comma x3 can both run at the same time without issue using a odb2 splitter.
@@OpenpilotIndonesia I went super simple on this actually. It’s just my iPhone attached to a selfie stick and stuck to the sunroof with a suction cup. That’s why it’s a little shakey.
@@EVERYTHINGcpo I just watched it again, three times. I can't tell if there is a line marker, but the front of the car is well 'past' the stop sign before the car stops. I think my perception is reinforced by the fact that driver making a right is hesitant to proceed because your car didn't stop where a human would have stopped. Not looking to argue, but ask someone nearby to watch that five seconds and see what they think.

The more annoying thing in these factory systems is that it tells me to keep my hands on the wheel even when my hands are on the wheel.

Are you using the wide angle camera for FP or the standard camera? I think the wide angle camera tends to perform better.

Sweet!
When you are controlling accelerator and brake, what do you do to change it to have OP take over with that.
Cruise set speed does as cruise on and off controls steering on and off with MADS usually. Some setups do the steering wheel lka button instead.

Is there any risk to openpilot since it’s open source?
why is open source risky?
It's less risky since the code has a chance to be analyzed and contributed to by more people.
how do you setup the camera to recording this video?
