They went to Indian cinema is where they went. Everybody looks down on Bollywood for being "tonally jarring" or having too much melodrama/comedy/slapstick in what would otherwise be an action film or a character drama or a thriller, but the Indian film industry (not just Bollywood) has been doing this sort of thing for DECADES.
I honestly can't wait till I have another experience like the first time watching EEAAO.
