Moved to Brownsburg from California in 2018. Love it and we are still finding new reasons to appreciate living here.

I am too, it is really amazing. I also like seeing how the downtown is growing so quick and the rest of Brownsburg.

Looking to leave California and find a good place to raise my family. This place looks great! Would love information on biggest employers in the area!

You said you moved to Indianapolis in the 1990s?

I work for a national sporting goods store in a location in Colorado and sadly Californians have sank their teeth into the state and sadly I think it's time to leave my home state and looking to transfer to another location and Brownsburg popped up on my radar as it's about the size of my home town but far closer to the large city for entertainment value with out having to drive 4-5 hours. Starting to look at homes and may just find my new home in this gem of an area.

Yes... Brownsburg shares a border with Indy. Let me know if you'd like to chat about finding the new home

Brownsburg is almost a completely different place over the last ten years. Growth explosion.

Brownsburg is not as good as people say it is. Living there my entire life you lack basic amenities. You have a bad Walmart and an overcrowded Kroger. Yes Meijer is coming but the layout is poor for where everything is currently located. Traffic at Northfield Drive and Green Street can become unbareable at anytime of day because everything is located there. Brownsburg is also one of the highest tax rate in the metro due to the size of lots. Everything is in Avon. Plainfield and Lebanon are better options on the Westside. I will admit the parks are great but all the parks in Hendricks County are great.

What are tax rates like, property, sales, so on? Trying to compare to my current area

This is pretty accurate, but there are 3 current grocery stores. Walmart, Kroger, and Aldi. Meijer is coming soon and a Target is proposed. Also Brownsburg has almost everything you could need, and anything they don’t have you don’t have to travel far to get it. It also has a growing downtown.

@@CubeNotFunny you don’t have drive far lol. Brownsburg has no food. All the town cares about is warehousing and keeping it a small town feel.

@@borocamo 3.13% property tax 7% sales tax that goes up every 5 years for the new stadiums downtown Indy that only the surrounding counties pay for not Marion. Tax rate is only going to go up because of the tax deficit for infrastructure in town limits. Most of the neighborhood streets have been turned over to the town which has caused it. I personally would look in Speedway it’s a better location and you are closer to downtown and tax rates are lower.

@Zach3ry those taxes are less than what I'm paying for currently at least, but I get it for sure. Taxation is theft!

Nature looks nice, but zero culture, culinary options or diversity, I am assuming. ?

Current resident here. This is an incredible place. GREAT schools, and decent restaurants around town. Youth sports are incredible, high school is great, it's midwestern so culture is great
