I just listened to this homily for the first time. A little over 3 years ago I started my reversion back to the church. In the beginning there were many things I didn't understand about how God was calling me back. To help me on my journey home my mom sent me Fr. Mike's homilies on trust that he did for lent that year. One was on asking "why?" and how sometimes that is contradictory to trust and holds us back from just saying "yes". This homily brings asking "why?" full circle. Over the years I've had to ask myself when is "why" for my own understanding and good, and when is it a display is not trusting God. Both homilies are beautiful and helpful. Thank you.
By the end I realized I’m crying, not exactly sad nor joyful, maybe a deep realization that Fr. Mike articulates what’s swirling in my mind. I’m so so grateful for holy priests and people like Fr. Mike. They help us grow in holiness and with our path to salvation. Thank you, Jesus, for Fr. Mike and all the holy smart people who share their holiness and wisdom so freely 🙏😇

Without a doubt one of your best Homilies Fr. Mike. I've never considered that my going or not going to Mass mattered to Jesus, that He wants me there. I've never thought of it this way before. 'The goal is Him, because the 'Why' is love and because we can grow in the motions when our 'Why' is a 'Who'. Amen. 💕🌹🌹🌹
Interesting that this should come up now. A few weeks ago the question came to my mind, "What would you say to someone who asked you why you go to daily mass?" I had to contemplate that over the course of the day. Hmmm...why do you go to daily mass. It started as an additional spiritual practice for Lent. Then once I started I couldn't stop. But all of the reasons that came to mind seemed self-centered until the thought came to me, "Because my presence gives joy to Jesus and He would miss me if I wasn't there." Thank you Father Mike for the confirmation!!!
Our Blessed Merciful Saviour in the Amen, I plead for mercy, deepness of compassion, gracious ness, loving kindness will you wash my heart, soul, mind, ears, and my lips, tongue, mouth circumcised to pull the forth sins, transgressions, iniquities so I can live and live again. Cast the devils out of my vessel please. I can't bear the devil's I carry it's vexing . I need you to prove for me again again again until all my enemies are destroyed. Please pray with me in agreement because I am in a nursing home that I should be moved by now. I would like to go to find me rest and peace. I am having problems with other religions that is damnable heretics occults cultism and absolutely, exactly hell on earth. I want to live a cathloic apartments for senior citizen housing. I be upset daily vex, to the core. So please remember me in your prayers with Holy Spirit.
