This video comes as a follow-up to a video I watched around a year ago by @Whitelight , Thank you for the video idea, I owe it to you. As much of a loving community Blur seemed to be, there was still a bit of left out details, and this is what this video is about.

The depth drifter added to the game contributed to its longevity. The only ones who stayed around on PC were the diehard drifters. The competitive races between drifters are some of the greatest battles I've had in any game, period. I still enjoyed the FR period too, and I still like FR races but drifting is what I find most enjoyable.
@@australiangamers the diehard fans of a game are always the last ones in a given game, and this game deserves more players but each time they show up, they get outran by the drifters, do you see my point?

The game died on PC due to no anticheat. The fact you cannot custom the button layout is an other issue. And the career mod being boring for many people don't help either.
ofc, drifter mod don't encourage new players to stay on blur multiplayer and they had to be the ones to target to keep Blur Multiplayer as alive as possible (the hardfans of game will stay a long time anyway)
Yes Thank you, that's a really good point. The fans that are left now would have been here if the game died on 2015 or 2022, The game deserves more players and the PC community provides that, What it doesnt provide is a reason for them to stay, learning how to drift isnt a good motive to stay and get out drifted by experienced players isnt gonna help either.

So from my understanding of this video, Drifter is the spiritual ancestor of Slide cancelling in CoD
@@smoki0_K not quite. If you can slide cancel in a lobby with people that dont, they can still kill you a few times with proper positioning and good aim, if youre a drifter in a lobby with no drifters, you'd win each time.

I don't agree with the fact that you need to learn how to drift to win, because the game wasn't meant to be played like this, when drift mod was added the devs probably didn't mess n experiment around with it too much, players didn't figure it out until bizzare creations was closed, after long training by the players it got abused for an unfair, and about the thing that if devs would be proud of the current state, That's not even a thing to explain, because it's not even being used the way it's meant to be used, leading to unfair racing. But it is what it is, and drift mod is one of the signs that a player is Great and experienced at the game.
You can win without Drifter but It's very hard against someone that's really good at that.
