In this video I install a CTS Turbo Intake, ARM Motorsports downpipe and REV9 Catback exhaust on my 2011 Volkswagen MK6 GTI. Through out the video I install each part and give a sound sound comparison of what the new modification sounds like. I personally wanted a loud sounding exhaust, that is why I went with this setup. If you do not want a loud exhaust, I'd suggest not installing the REV9 catback exhaust and stick with the stock catback exhaust. OR at least get the REV9 catback with mufflers. My setup is WITHOUT mufflers. Also, the ARM motorsports downpipe that I installed is the CATLESS downpipe. Meaning it has no catalytic converter on it. That also adds to the louder noise. The CTS Turbo intake did give it a little more throaty sound, but it didn't sound too loud. You definitely notice it more when you add the ARM Motorsports downpipe. That whistle may actually be a bad diverter valve. I upgraded to a gfb dv+ and it fixed my issue. 15min install.

Really? I got this intake and got a Dv+ I still hear the whistle/ screech and it sounds bad it cost me like $120 I think

Nice set up working on the exhaust on my 2012 GLI I have an intake and ARM down pipe as well. Just trying to find right setup after the down pipe
Rev9 is nice, but pretty loud. Depends how obnoxious you wanna be haha

Yea gonna get a tune after I install charge pipes and front mount intercooler. Then I should have pretty much all bolt ons installed and won't have to pay for another tune. Love this set up!

I think that whistle comes from the dv, I had the same whistle when I upgraded my intake and did a unitronic dv relocation with a new dv and the whistle went away.
Yea thats what I've read. I have a new dv just haven't installed it yet. If it does fix my whistle I'll let everyone know in a video. Hope it does lol

I’m doing the exact same mods as you, (I have as of Rn) a catless downpipe and catback exhaust, my check engine light is on, as I’ve ran the catless downpipe for about 4 months now, but I was just wondering would it bad if I ran an intake on top of the setup I’ve got at the moment? It’s getting tuned around Christmas time.

Ok so i have had the rev9 exhaust and found this video and it made me bite the bullet on a arm downpipe just curious did you use o2 sensor spacers, and if so which sensor/sensors.
I didn't have to use a spacer for mine. Mine is tuned and had the check engine light disable for that o2 fault. Some people do end up having to use the space though. I'd install it and see what happens. Then install one if u need to.

Yes but only Cobb off the shelf tune at the time. Not a very good tune. I'm currently Stratisfied tuned now. Stage2 full bolt on

question on how the car ran till pro tuned? i have a unitronic intake with arm downpipe and rev9 catback . Cobb says it will need a pro tune because of intake! but will the car run with OTS map as i dont have any tuners near me
Car runs fine. The protune definitely opens it up night and day power. I ran the ots tune for a few months before I got tuned and it ran fine

Yea i ran mine without a tune for about a month. Ran perfectly fine

I wonder if the ECM is tuned for catless downpipe. IMO the Cobb tune is weak, you should try iE.
At the time it was Cobb stage 1. Currently Stage 2 full bolt on with Stratified tune. Love it and it's been great for the last year

Ya for sure. Especially after getting a tune. That tied everything together and woke the car up
Question on the install: how did the Downpipe mate up to the cat? Was there any custom modifications required? I really like the sound of this setup and I’m going to buy it!
Everything fit great. I didn't have to modify anything.

Yea turned out to be a bad diverter valve. Replaced it with a go fast bits dv+ and problem solved

It does. But u can run a spacer on the o2 censor to trick it. Or turn it off with a tune, like I did. My tuner turned off any lights I had.
And your tune is from stratified correct?
And if I did do a catted downpipe what do u think would be the result??

@@kiss718able Ya stratified tune. It might be best to go with a catted dp if you're worried about emissions. I think it would be the safe choice. Depending on your state it could make it difficult to pass emissions.

Awesome. I love the sound and how loud it can be. If u drive normal, it keeps fairly quiet. But if u wanna rip, it's loud af lol

What tune are you running with that downpipe??
At the time of this video I was running Cobb off the shelf tune. I'm now running stratified tune which is waaaaay better. Much more power and torque.
@@BriGuy503 thanks! And have you had any problem with the gasket that was supplied?? I know some people are having issues with it blowing out in the first week or two

@@BriGuy503 what cobb OTS? Seems like i saw somewhere that the access port for a stage 2 mk6 is discontinued?
I was running stage 1 91octane at the time. You're correct, they no longer support stage 2. But there are companies that do their own stage 2 tunes, which are tons better then any Cobb tune

@@kippkewish9626yeah the whistle stopped some time after it got really annoying and when I had a girl in the car I would get a little embarrassed when that sound went up cause it was loud the more I rev/ sped up

@miguelecheverry6700 I don't know the gains but it was night and day difference. Well worth it. Tune cost like $120. But u also have to have the Cobb access port to be tuned. That was like $550. I think you can get a combo deal from Stratified for both for like $600

The exhaust is louder then normal obviously. Just play your music louder lol
