Best VJ live mixer in history on layout .... if they could only make these at 4k and 8k we would all be happy ... its layout was second to none i could use this mixer blindfolded back in the day ....
I have a secondhand one of these that I have used in a children's holiday club to select different cameras, and via an external scaler, VGA from a PC as well. Used one of the wipes to have a PC generated game clock in the corner of the screen combined with live camera signal. Was thinking of doing live chroma key with it as well. Plus the Demo Mode makes it useful to sit on a set emulating a spaceship control panel! Came to me with two massive VCRs (one JVC) and a video editing controller, but I no longer have those.
NAM was short for "Non-additive Mix" and it performed a wipe I seldom used. It was as if a luma key was applied to one channel and then the luma level went from 0 to 100% revealing the other channel as it went. So rather than a fade, you got a wipe based on the luminance values of one of the sources.
Thank you for explaining everything so well. Those boards are amazing machines. Could you explain about running different types of cameras on the board and gen lock?
Hi, thanks for the video. I have one of these mixers but I am not sure what cable I need to connect the mixer to an older zenith TV. I’d think a coaxial but the “comp out” doesn’t fit a normal coaxial. I was needing some help! I really appreciate it. Thanks again!
Thanks for the vid man! Total newbie here.. how do you go about connecting the TV to the mixer? It looks you’ve got some sort of composite converter or something? Also is there a way of converting both the input and output to hdmi in order to use some more recent tech?
Just picked one up myself and was wondering what you were using to plug the conventional RCA composite video into the weird ports that are otherwise seen. Any help would be much appreciated
I'm curious, does the downstream keyer have it's own dedicated input (from say a character generator) or does it need to come through one of the 4 video source inputs?

This looks like the mixing board used in my news broadcast class about a year ago.
I have one of these but it only shows white when I try to plug a camera in
