Made ithis far with your lessons and having fun, Sigoni! Thank you! I’m 69 years old and never too old to learn new tricks! I really like this half double crochet but I think t he double crochet is my favorite so far.
Good morning. Wow! A challenge. I have to admit this stitch was really confusing for me. I kept forgetting to YO twice. I don’t care for it much, but I’m glad I learned it just to know all the basic stitches. Crocheting in the round has always been a challenge. I love doing it, but it goes wonky on me eventually, lol. Thank you! Love, from the Great State of Oklahoma, USA 🤍
Oh definitely it’s going to take some time to get the hang of this one and to remember all the steps. But you’re right it’s a great stitch to at least know exists whenever you do come across a pattern that uses it, but it’s not as common as the others. I’m glad you still enjoyed it! Tomorrow starts our lessons on crocheting in the round which I am really excited about!
Yes, frog! 🐸 It’s because you’re ripping back your stitches and it sounds like “rip it rip it” like ribbit ribbit 🐸 🤣 it’s one of my favorite crochet terms
Thanks for tutorial. ❤ But why should we start a new row with the second loop and not with the first one? We have already made four additional loops for the chain😢😢😢
What's the reason for skipping a stitch when we do a turning chain? I understand that the turning chain counts as a stitch here, but what's the point of skipping over one stitch to do the next treble crochet stitch after the turning chain? I didn't skip and i got a more even or straight swatch with 11 stitches (including the turning chain).
You can absolutely do that as long as you don’t count the turning chain as a stitch. The most important thing to remember is keeping track of your stitch count. This video will explain why some people prefer one way or another: ua-cam.com/video/0tBZjii7I1g/v-deo.html
I'm a bit confused myself because I just watched the Woobles treble crochet stitch and both Sigoni's and Woobles methods match. Yarn over twice, insert into stich, yarn over pull through stitch to create a loop, yarn over, through 2 loops, yarn over, through 2 loops, yarn over, through 2 loops. Have I missed something different between the two methods?
the half double is my favorite!
It's my favorite too!

What is the term you use when you ask us not to take apart our work? It sounds like you're saying 'frog', is that correct? Another awesome lesson!

I have tried to download your ebook and cannot. Can you send a link please
I like half double best
Me too!
What kind of yarn are you using for these pink swatches? It looks like anice size and stretch for learning.
It is a bulky weight 100% cotton yarn. I wish I could share it but unfortunately it was discontinued 😔

Thanks.
No music while you are talking.
This is different than the Woobles method for creating a treble crochet stitch, I’m feeling confused now.😢
