@@electric_dream_machine it was when it involved gaining life constantly while barely interacting, which is a bo1 issue but that's the mode that sees play so
I built a variation of this deck a few days ago with the only real change being that I have 2 Bill's in it. Makes for beneficial trading when you're trying to get your combo going. Went from Diamond to Mythic in a day and a half with it. Only thing I would say is that it can be incredibly susceptible to discard and rabbits. Rabbits especially, because they go wide before you can really combo off and you end up forced to make trades, hence the bill's. Outside of that, if you play patiently you can sometimes eek out a win even in those circumstances.
Sometimes a cool way to finish the game would be to keep Access Tunnel instead as one of your 2 only lands left to make Lumra unblockable while it's a 2/2 before letting all the lands come back from the graveyard to make it giant again.
4 Scavenger's Talent 4 Vinelasher 4 Lumra 2 Pitiless Carnage 3? Mudflat Village The new core to Golgari Landfall. They made ST to change 10 minute Nissa turns into mill. There is a crazy amount of synergy between these cards, and it sustains itself. Very fun filled with many decisions. I think I'm supposed to use Greedy Freebooter, Vinereap Mentor, Goldvein Hydra, and get more copies of Season of Loss? It's hard to build.
Do you think Malicious Eclipse would be better than Choking Miasma for the 3-drop board wipe slot? Doesn't seem like the kicker is super impactful, and getting to exile seems relevant (e.g. crawling chorus)
Certainly a valid alternative! Occasionally having your Vinelasher survive or growing Nissa out of 3 damage range can matter, so both have their advantages.
This deck is also allowed to bring in answers like Tear Asunder, Assassin's Trophy or Frillback. With Pillage the Bog being a way to find those answers when needed.
With all the extra mana you have at 21:09, my instincts were to play second Nissa to get another creature (this time hopefully not nissa #4). What are your thoughts on that play?
But LVD, when i told you about this combo you just responded "Sounds like it's already been built then." 😉 Anyway, glad to see YOUR take on this combo deck, and thanks for the video.
Just yesterday I got a comment falsely accusing me of stealing a deck idea. This is why whenever someone brings up a different creator’s deck idea I don’t even want to look at the decklist. I prefer doing my own thing since I actually enjoy deck building.
@@LegenVD those claims are from people who sadly dont understand how deck building works in a competitive trading card game, so i think such comments could easily be ignored without doing any harm. But on the other hand its totally understandable that you wish to avoid any sort of drama, as little as it may be, and keep a good atmosphere around
20:50 i do wonder if the highest WR play isn't to sacrifice all of the lands to maximize your odds of hitting a vinelasher.. Also, at 37:00, you should be saccing all of your lands AND the Lumra for +2 card draw. "I need to keep a land for the Lumra to survive", sure, but you will draw a land from the carnage, so +2 cards is way more important there.
It’s the same deck from last Standard with a few small changes. I’m sure others have come to a similar build. There’s just a few flex slots to figure out.
You'll need answers for potential graveyard hate (Tear Asunder / Frillback / Trophy) and some discard spells (Duress) to replace removal against combo and control decks. You can also round out some of the playsets of cards we have in the main. This is not a deck that want to sideboard too much, but with Pillage the Bog we can find sideboard cards more easily.
Pls no. Not this again. 10 minute turns with Nissa + Analyst are excruciatingly boring to play against. The deck is neat, but I dread facing it. I've already played against it once since rotation and I literally had time to make myself a sandwich during one of their turns.
It's a fun deck, but sadly the meta is RDW and Discard. this deck loses to both of them so hard. Lumra also gets countered by any variant of blue control deck which runs counterspell.
A fun dexk that sadly doesnt work very well in standard because of how fast the decks are. By the time this things gets rolling, your health is in the minuses 😢
another one of these decks where you have to sit and wait for your opponent to finish clicking trough their "combo" ... the game should just calculate ahead and offer the "i win" button when they have the needed cards.

THE LAND GODDESS

How convenient that Nissa can find both Lumra and Aftermath Analyst
Indeed a sneeking suspicion the opponent won't survive that :)
Found a similar deck of this very difficult to survive in standard. It’s so fun to play, and I really appreciate your boardwipe selections

Great content. Always fun, informative, and entertaining. Top quality. Thanks.
Bivouac is in the Mice deck a lot now, because it targets, and thus can trigger Valiant.
Best magic player and content creator 🎉
Facts bro he covers the details so good I can work and still know the layout 😅
You know a fun combo? Awaken the woods and Iridescent Vinelasher. Mixed with Analyst and Lumra its so satisfying.
Wow..... Now, THAT'S how you play Magic.... GD!
If i see another BG combo deck in standard I’m gonna scream.
Tbf Golgari has always been prime-time combo. I'll grant you that it's especially heavy this rotation though.

Good interaction to keep in mind!
If you use escape tunnel on a creature with 2 power, and then increase its power, is it still unblockable?
Yes!
