The 'whole of the topic in … minutes' videos DO NOT comprehensively cover everything you need to know for your exams. It would be impossible to include 2 years of teaching in 1 hour. These should NOT be your only source of revision • Do the 'whole topic in... My exam predictions are just GUESSES!! I don't have any insider knowledge just years of looking at exam papers.

Why does the government think constantly changing the way were tested is gonna give them higher results. How bout change the way things are taught first.
I think they're just trying to keep up with the education system in China. For what reason, i know not.
Because China's education is superior.
My english teacher asked AQA, what does a top band answer look like? (This is for english lit). And AQA said, a top band answer is the kind of answer that makes you go "wow". god, cheers guys.
*Wow* lmao so much depth 😑😑
Zoe XoXo I think it's like you have drop 4 or 6 marks, something like that, to get a 9.
Kat in a Hat I heard that only 2400 of the 700000 people doing the exam will get a 9! My teacher calls it the "sprinkling of fairy dust" 😂
Charlotte My teachers are literally telling everyone *yeah go get 9's* but they said only the top 3% will get them...idk how that's gonna work😂😂
Zoe XoXo I know! It's ridiculous. We will all have to do our best and see what comes of it x
I think that if they really wanted to make gcses harder, they should have slowly increased the difficulty over the years and not just all of a sudden
I really want to do well, that I don't mind spending hours and hours and hours of work however the time i spend revising, I don't feel like I'm using the time effectively it really un--motivates me making me feel as if I'm wasting my time. I feel hopeless sometimes.
Same
I used to enjoy learning, now i nearly fall asleep every lesson because i don't have time to rest, can't wait to leave!
This year 11 had to be the guinea pigs, bug we are capable to get those A*'s and grades that you can get😀😀!
Torchic Mic Amen! 😂
On an English language mock test I achieved a 9 but my teachers brought it down to an 8 because they weren't sure.
2000Tubetastic Thanks but my grades are weird. In lit I'm getting 6's then in Lang I'm getting 8's lol. Also maths I'm shocking
2000Tubetastic wow I wish I was as good at maths as you are. I'm only getting 5's in math... Trying to get a 6 tho and maybe a 7
2000Tubetastic Thanks I hope I get a 7. I'll be happy with just a 6 though I think. Anyway I hope you get the grades you want!
2000Tubetastic well ain't that reassuring
Imagine doing grade 9 math questions... omfg 😂
did that the other day lol
yep grade 9 questions are like 30minutes each
UltimateChallengerGamer no lol
They aren’t that hard in maths
Mr Potato some are so easy not that hard. Only problem solving are mostly
Your videos are sooo lovely. I'm experiencing a lot of distress and anxiety due to my GCSE's and you help me a lot.
+Bushra Triebener 💕
I'm in year 13 and I'm still subscribed to you 😂 you helped me get A*s in physics and chem! If anyone needs any GCSE advice I'm happy to help
its_vall hi! I was wondering how many hours u revised everyday and which science u revised the most for. Also did u use extra information and resources or just her videos? Thank you!
Yeah I was wondering that too
I literally don't understand science....
If you start revising casually part way through year eight, is a 9 guaranteed.
I know I’m late but when should I start revising in yr 10
100%=Grade 9
Will be happy if I get 7 in maths
People are thinking about the new specification in the wrong way. The ones who are really misinterpreting the reasoning behind it are those who complain, and basically they think, 'this is way too hard', 'this is unfair, the new spec is terrible'... My question is, why is it people are trying to make out in some way that it'll be straightforward to get a 9? Well, the math speaks for itself. 1-3%. So I'd even argue aiming for a 9 is implausible simply because you don't know where you stand in and amongst all the other capable students - and all the other variables. A grade nine answer shouldn't just make the examiner go 'wow', that's quite self-explanitory. A grade 9 question first and foremost should be one that encourages initiative, a high competence in thinking skills (being able to work with something very, very challenging) and perhaps most importantly, having the cability to demonstrate extreme ability in problem solving. Therefore, in all honesty, a grade 9 isn't as such something that can be worked for (of course, people will get them with copious amounts of work), but it's more about natural ability. As before I believe, too many people were achieving A*s, and of course this meant the range in ability between A*s students rendered the A* grade as unmeritted. Fundamentally, a grade 9 is far too difficult to accurately determine. So its more important to focus on the WORK in the time being, than it is the grade.
hi primrose kitten I love your videos. Please can u tell me how u can get straight A* in science new gcse. I really want to get those amazing grades in year 11. Thanks and please reply.
Fatema Yeasmin thanks I saw that I wanted to ask primrose kitten
What did you get?
i like ur vids
Won't the grade boundaries go down so it's a harder exam but easier to get the grades?
Charlotte if it's a harder exam it isn't easier to get the grades, trust me. In maths, people who used to get As are getting 5s, if you get a 6 everyone thinks that's amazing. It is so much harder so the grade boundaries don't matter all that much as you have to work so hard anyway to get the mark
Thank you! I need a 6 in Maths, but it's my weakest subject!
They won't set the grade boundaries till after we've taken the exams and they'll have to go off percentages from before so the same amount of people will pass as last year if ygm so none of the grade boundaries our schools are using at the moment are gonna be completely accurate.
only because it hasn't been tested nationally
I am predicted 9s for most of my subjects
@@shivaspatel2024 I don’t think she did lol
Im screwed :(
how can we practice on our own to think outside the box and more logically as well??
during this time leading to exams what can I do to develop the skill of thinking more logically for maths specifically??
Does this mean universities will be accepting a 4 in English (presuming your enrolling in a non-English based course.)
Technically yes but I hear universities prefer 5s.
third
Im in year 10 and im currently working at 5s&4s, how can i improve that?:/
Revise more but make it fun so you actually remember the stuff.
im still in year 2 should i start watching these now?
+kitkat not just yet!!!
Looool what?
@@Primrose_Kitten what about year eight?
this is a joke right?
U are a bit too young if you’re in primary school just concentrate on other things like sats and maybe come back to these videos in a few years time
Thanks. I'm currently getting 4 or 4- in almost all my subjects and I'm in year 9. I'm trying so hard to at least secure a 5 but everything I do just doesn't work. Any tips?
Mis Safi Don't worry about in, in year 10 I was getting 2s and 3s and now I'm getting 7s and 8s!
Just revise/learn all content/do any past papers you can find/practice.
whenever i get home from school which is around 4:30 i start my revision, i usually stop at around 9:30 most nights and revise a variety of subjects each night, if i have a test the next day, for example tomorrow i have a latin mock, i tend to just revise that subject only for the night.
Mis Safi Honestly, for someone in year 9, you're on the right track. I'm in year 11 and there are a lot of people in my year who scraped 3s and 4s in their mocks. The best method would be to practise questions, esp from specimen papers from your exam board. I had a 4 in my mock but I kept doing practise questions and asking my maths teacher to mark them, and getting 6s and 7s. For now, don't try to burn yourself out, because by the time you're in year 11 you'll feel unmotivated. Keep your revision steady and realistic. I would suggest doing a question a day or every few days. You have time but use it wisely! Focus on questions you don't know how to do and just keep practising
do exam pratices, A LOT OF IT, being proven that if you do a pratice exam with little revision, you will get higher grades than the ones who did a lot of revision only.
You don't necessarily "earn" a level 9, it's more of a reward for getting good grades all the time like if you get 100% that may not actually be a 9 if you don't get them grades consistently throughout your exams
what???
I'm in year 9 and I'm currently getting all grade 7's. I really want to get 8's and 9's. any tips? :)
Lol Haha Dead thank you!
Freya-Mae Preston revise
I'm in year 10 and I have mocks after the Easter break, I do triple science, but I have no idea where to start with anything!! Do you know everything you cover in year 10 or any tips to revise for year 10 mocks. Is there much point doing past papers as we haven even covered everything yet? We also need to know most of our equations so do you have any tips on how to revise them all??
Evie Rose use flash cards to revise equations and I would say definitely do past papers just miss out the questions that you have not covered yet, don't worry you'll do great :)
I had mine a few weeks back, I basically covered everything in basic detail and the stuff that we'd already covered and I wasn't sure on in more detail, but didn't stress over them too much, I'm doing triple and came out with roughly 5's in all 3 and my targets a 7, if you are edexcel and your school uses the same specimen paper as we used, they wasn't as bad as I thought, it was mainly the 6 mark questions that i lost out on, although in physics they were not too bad ☺️
Evie Rose Hiya, I have just finished my year 10 mocks today and I found flashcards and mindmaps the best ways to condense down your notes, and then got people to test me on them. I would say focus on everything you've learnt this year and if it's a core subject, maybe some parts from the end of year 9. But my most important tip is don't stress out about them too much as remember they're only a practice. Good luck! (:
Evie Rose me toooooooo
Same! Except, I am in Year 9, and the mocks are only for the core subjects: maths, science and English.

how long should I revise for
Can we all share the grade boundaries our schools are using for Maths please? We are using 195 for 8
Jayan Varsani my teacher said that it would be low to mid 60s on each paper (so like 185/240) for a 9 but I think that'ss a bit generous. He also said half marks on each paper would be good for a 7
Jayan Varsani- In our school in maths we did an edexcell maths mock and no one got a nine. Including someone who got 212/240!!!This grade boundary was decided by the exam board but the papers were relatively easy. We have done another mock since and we haven't had the results back yet but they were much harder, the teachers said they think the grade boundaries will be lower. So basically no one knows.
we did 3 mocks in January, i got 50,49 and 47 on my papers which came out as a 7a so a high level 7. a lot of people got higher marks at around the 60/65 mark and still only got level 8s i think the school are trying to minimalist the amount of 8s and 9s given out simply because they don't know what the grades will look like this summer and don't want to get our hopes up to be honest. Good Luck
I got 177/240 on the Edexcel Spring Mock Set which we did 2 weeks ago, and they were very difficult papers so it was only 50/240 for a grade 5 as so many people got this. This meant that I got a grade 8.7, which I was extremely happy with because I've never done that well in maths before. I have a feeling the new spec grade boundaries will be low such as these because the papers (especially for maths) are so difficult. All I can say is I'm so glad I'm only doing new spec for English and maths and I'm not in the year below because I love science and I think I would fine it difficult to get an 8/9 in new spec science, however I think it's within my capabilities of achieving an A* old spec grade. I'm doing the old spec for pretty much everything else (I'm in the transition year for Religious Studies, the only year to do this exam board ever yet still no coursework) which is so relieving as I have done well on my coursework so I can rely on them to pull me up.
Yh I guess every schools boundaries are quite different, our schools boundary for a 7 is 160 approx. I definitely think that a 9 will be over 215 but good luck guys!
Hi I'm in year 10 and I'm working at about a 7 in all my subjects is it possible for me to get a 9?
same!
Hannah Fox same x
Hannah Fox same !! I'm wondering !
Hannah Fox Yes obviously. just make sure when you're covering the topics from now on, that you focus and listen so you remember them. most of the time to get an A* or a 9, you just need to remember, so as long as you get your head down you can get a few 9's.
Yeah haha I was working at a 7 in maths at the start of year 11 and am (hopefully) on track for a 9 or at least a high 8 seeing as nobody really knows what a 9 is going to be
By the sounds of things I'm glad I did my gcses last year 😬
Interesting to see how much it's changed
How do you get a grade 5?
Pass with 60ish %
@@Ellenchattergirl almost no effort if its higher tier. However a good bit of effort if its foundation.
@@lol-nd5it other way round m8
@@bhg582 no lol u can easily get a 5 in higher tier once it’s only like 30% but in foundation u gotta get like 80% for a 5. Honestly higher tier is a joke idk how u all struggle with it. They make getting pretty much any grade easy asf when the context itself is really basic maths and grade boundaries are always low LOL
@@lol-nd5it yh its not hard to get a 5 , but higher questions are far harder than foundation.
Okay this is gonna be a rant so just keep scrolling. I'm in year eight right now and tbh no one but me actually likes homework and learning e.t.c. (and my crush- that's why I like him- but that's not important) and I'm kind of made fun of for that but IDC cos I'll be the one laughing when they get 4/5s and I get 8/9s. But if I get anything below a 6, I'm literally going to shout this:
"Seriously!? I haven't spent the last 3 and a half years revising almost every day just to get a 5/4/3/2/1!! This is not fair; I deserve better and I'm getting it remarked!!"
Also, they always talk way too much in lessons, to the point where the teachers can't even teach a full lesson. I've tried to block it out but it didn't work. And you know how some teachers ask you to 'leave your problems outside the classroom'? Well, if a teacher ever said that to me, I'd say "I think we'd have quite a small class then" or "If you insist. Class dismissed!" Like I just wish I had the courage to say to them "stop. You're disrupting my learning and everyone else's. It's not fair. You can't keep doing this!" But I can't. I don't want to be picked on even more than I already am. I need help.
The same thing occurs in my school (I'm in year 11), but you just need to block it out (I'm a straight 9 and 8 student) and I can assure you that if you continue with a strong academic mindset you will make it, just ignore everyone that gives you a hard time and you will get 9's. by the way, if anyone tells u a 5 or a 6 is good... ignore it because it is not. reach high not low
