- Celebrate 'Metamorphosis: Titian 2012', a unique collaboration with The Royal Ballet, with this re-imagining of the Diana myth. Produced by Credit Suisse, Sponsor of 'Metamorphosis: Titian 2012', featuring Ed Speelers and Anna Friel.
A multi-faceted experience celebrating British creativity across the arts, 'Metamorphosis: Titian 2012' brings together a group of specially commissioned works responding to three of Titian's paintings -- 'Diana and Actaeon', 'The Death of Actaeon' and the recently acquired 'Diana and Callisto' -- which depict stories from Ovid's epic poem 'Metamorphoses'.
Featuring new work by contemporary artists Chris Ofili, Conrad Shawcross and Mark Wallinger, including sets and costumes for three new ballets at the Royal Opera House. Leading poets including Seamus Heaney, Wendy Cope, and Patience Agbabi have also responded to Ovid's text and Titian's paintings.

I watched the advert too, instead of skipping it - it looked worth watching!
Finally a *good* adaptation of a Greek myth!
that's an evocative trailer- and I think it highlights the really sick and cruel treatment of Actaeon, which is an aspect of the story that you can forget sometimes, when looking at the colourful classical painting.
Its an allegorical myth. Diana is a Goddess of retribution. Violating someone is cruel. This is what its showing. It's very phalic the stags horns piercing his bare flesh over taking his being and identity, and his resultant face of agony.
I saw this for the first time like ten years ago and I still think about it
Masterpiece ❤️❤️
Found this thanks to one of youtube's skippable ads on the beginning of a totally unrelated video... So glad I don't use an ad-blocker that gets rid of those. If I did, I would've missed out on this.

Beautiful ❤️
This is so macabre and so great!
Amazing. ♥
i feel like this video portrays Actaeon as more of a victim than he really was. In the original myth, he does not simply see Artemis bathing. Rather, he asks to marry her, and continues to harass her with declarations of love after she repeatedly demands he leaves her alone, and so she is driven to punish him cruelly. In two other myths she is seen bathing accidentally, and in those cases she only blinds or changes the sex of the perpetrators because thy treated her with respect and regretted seeing her, but custom demanded that maiden goddesses punish men who saw them naked.
Anyone else here after watching a music video made for Clams Casino "All I Need"? =)
