Oh my young lady! Just turned 69 years and still have oil brushes from my 20's. If you just spent $30 on a brush. PLEASE take care of it. We artists truly have love affairs with our good brushes. they will repay your care with YEARS of quality use. Love your work. I am more oils than watercolor. But must say you make it look SO easy (when really it is not) 😃
These are so beautiful. I have been a watercolor artist for a number of years but I'm now 80 years old. As you say it is a hard medium and learning how to let it flow and fix mistakes is the most challenging but rewarding part. Unfortunately my memory is failing me and I have forgotten so much and it causes me frustration. But you have encouraged me to try again. I just love these.Maude from the Netherlands introduced me to you. I love your work so I subscribed
Thank you so very much. Try look at it as discovering a new medium all over again and having fun. I hope you enjoy watercolour again. Thank you for watching and subscribing 😊
Julie M Jacobson I am in my 60’s but have memory problems. I have found it productive to either make notes on the back, both after working on it and sometime after, or I take a photo and make comments on my iPad. I prefer the latter as I have mobility problems and very painful hands and I can dictate my notes. Also I can search for topics or phrases among my notes. When I can’t use my hands creatively I spend time going through my work and creating ‘try this or combine that’ to do lists. I use these lists when I am in a more playful mood. Lastly looking at my work after time has gone by and I can’t remember my intentions I often wonder why I put work in my Hmmm pile and I see it as it is, not what I wanted it to be. All the best.
Never stop trying Judie, I too am 80 and my daughter got me sewing again. I hadn’t sewed for years. My husband…..the greatest man in the world, bought me a new sewing machine and off I went. We may be 80, but we aren’t dead yet! May God bless you and keep you well.
These are gorgeous. I cut mine into bookmarks and write this quote on the back “That thing that makes you happy, do more of that”. I then hide them in books at the local bookstores and library. I occasionally also give them to customer service folks I encounter to make their day just a little brighter.
I love the looseness you work your art. When you say that you are not exactly knowing the currently used color, I had to laugh. Its really funny but the result shows your skill.
Absolutely stunning and will be sharing your channel on mine on Tuesday 14th June. ( don’t laugh at my attempt lol. ) Love where you’re going with your channel thank you for showing us some wonderful techniques xx
This is stunning...I have been watching Andrea from Artymaze for years and she mentioned you and your channel...so now I am hooked!!!! Love all that you share...You are a wonderful teacher and artist. Thanks for all the inspiration!!!
Who doesn’t love gold, right?!?! This is so beautiful and love your color palette choices. My favorite palette is the blues and find that you can put so many colors with it and it turns out so beautiful. I absolutely love your teaching style and love how you are always talking to us. You are so inspiring and I appreciate you sharing your talent and teaching with us. I would also love to see a flip through of your journal as well. 😊
I thought this was wonderful, especially when you removed the tape. But when you added the Micron pen it took it to another level. You are so creative. I could watch you all day... but then I wouldn't have the time to play at creating my own ephemera!
Michele, I loved it. I think your artwork and the colors are awesome. I really enjoyed it. I see the shimmer now, it was been so long about 15 yrs. that they did have the watercolors in the shimmer's when I last did watercolor.
It is a very liberating technique, that gives the freedom to express yourself without the pressure of being perfect and still creating something beautiful and spontaneous. I think it will work also for creating greeting cards. Thank you for giving us the inspiration!
Thumbnails are just beautiful. I have been in hospital for a couple of months and I sure miss my paints and crafts. I know the first thing I’m going to do when I get home. Thumbnails. Thank you for sharing!!
I absolutely love these. I have done some on bookpages but I also love artist trading cards so I think I will mark off some in that size. I love the combination of stamps and watercolor and the way that you keep going. I tend to stop when I first like it and end up with something good but not great when maybe if I just went one step further it could be great.
Oh, i really like these, what a fun idea, thanks so much for sharing, also I like the way the grain of the paper is showing thru, it looks like it's a sure part of the design.
Everything you do is beautiful. I have tried a few of your drawings and I stink...lol...I only wish. Those stamps even are amazing. I do suggest though that perhaps you do 2 pages so while you wait for it to dry you could be doing another for the next video...just a thought...I hate waiting too so that is what I do....
What a fun project. Those came out beautiful. I am also very impatient sometimes and have used a hair dryer to dry watercolors when I'm impatient. And I've definitely ruined a micron or two using them on wet paper/paint. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for another wonderful tutorial. I really like the relaxed look of this casual version of watercolour. I would frame all of them and be so proud. You’re great!!!❤️
I really like this exercise. I'm used to working fairly large and wanted to attempt to work much smaller, this is a great way to just loosen up and push myself and will be trying this!
A little thankyou 💛 Just did my version of these, without stamps (I drew flower silhouettes) and no gold paint. I'm still a bit of a coward when it comes to using really dark colours... But I'm happy with these xx
These Re beautiful. I have we Windsor & Newton travel paint set and there is a handle for the brush inside the the brush. Just pull the black end and bring it out, turn it around and attach it to the brush. Will be checking out your stamp carving videos...love your stamps. Thank you.
I enjoy thumbnails too. Certainly, is a fantastic way to see how media flows on the paper of choice. A very frugal and in the end, little masterpieces of art. Love it
Yes, the shimmering comes through beautifully. First time I've seen your videos and am really enjoying them. I love how you created each piece. Beautiful pieces.
Hello Michele. I have just discovered your channel and absolutely love your creations! I have been painting in watercolor for a while but have yet to achieve the spontaneity you have! Lovely!! You probably know this already, but just in case: a cheap hair dryer does wonders at speeding drying along, especially for a demo. It does make an annoying noise for people watching the video, but you could always warn them before you start or use a low setting. Also, using the hair dryer on the masking tape just before removing it makes it a lot easier to remove and avoids tearing the paper!. Keep up the good work!
I see your still busy with your wonderful art. I do hope the temporary living is still good. I so enjoyed your video and if I can squeeze out time from yard work, would love to give it a go. Thank you for your inspiration. *Debbie*
I’m so glad I found your channel. I love your work. I was hoping you would expand on that flower shape that had formed in the last square you did, but it was nice the way you did it anyway. Great job! 💜
New subscriber from ArtyMaze. New to journaling and watercolors. Glad to see I can use stamps. Working on my freehand drawing. On vacation at the moment, will definitely be doing this when I get home. Tyfs
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Love your style and technique. I look forward to trying this myself. Although I am not a painter at all, the beauty you've produced in your thumbnails is truly inspiring. Many, many thanks! 💐🙏🏽

I am about to be 70 but I just had to get back to it ….I just watch the tutorials to get newer techniques ❤
I also write out lots of page plans, making tags, master boards or whatever I can put on deck for my next creation 😊

You have a beautiful eye for values, and the perfect balance between the light, medium and dark values.
