SGriffin597 we’re getting between 22 to 30 miles depending on how many hills we tackle, lots of riding around town and trips to the store, we find are self charging up about every 3 or 4 days
This will be a great addition to my current ebike. And at 1/3 the price of my class 1 Haibike, it looks like it would be a lot of fun. Would have been nice if the display was removable for security though. Thanks for the overview.
At 9:30 he said you can add liners or slime. What are those? Been spending days watching and reading reviews. Looking at this and the radmini 4 right now as my first folding fat tire ebike. Any advice on anything would be welcome.
Slime is a sealant you add to your tubes, if punctures happen it will fill and seal without much pressure loss. It adds some weight but that hasn't ever been noticeable to me. There's lots of different liners out there that go just inside the tire, a new brand I've seen is called Tannus Armor and they are awesome.
MATE X vs Sondors Fold XS. Which one would you pick considering every aspect (costumer service, problems, quality of the components, riding...) Thank you.
Nice! I like Thudbuster a lot, they have the Long Travel and Short Travel (which did you get?) and they have the extra long 400mm post which works great for folding ebikes like the SONDORS Fold XS ;)

Great review! I am the same height as u63 do you think I will be comfortable on this as a daily commuter? Also a lot of people complain about the middle of the frame being too thick and they hit their knees was this a problem for you as well? Thank you so much
I didn't have any problems with bumping my knees on the frame, it is thick but I like that as it feels rock solid! If you're planning to use the motor quite a bit you'll be pretty comfy on this, due to the folding frame you can't extend your leg fully while pedaling so that can be a bit more tiring.
@@kendrickmelendez8185 I only got to spend one day with the bike so I can't speak for long-term durability, especially since this is a newer model for SONDORS. Based on the construction of the frame and components I would expect it to last a good long time. Range is a question we get a lot, and the answer is "your mileage may vary." There's so many factors here: rider size/weight, terrain, air pressure, incline vs flat, use of battery vs. pedaling... so there's no definite answer to the question. The Sinch has a high-capacity and good quality battery so I can see it easily doing 30+ miles even with medium levels of pedal assist the entire way.
Is any place where you can nicely screw in/affix a front and rear light, as I can't see it anywhere on the bike, unless the bosses are extremely small. ?? Thanks!
Beautiful design, but who is servicing it in Europe, let's say Greece? Are there standard tyres or chains available anywhere in case they are damaged. Actually, how difficult is it to replace a rear tyre?
Just received mine the other day and love it! However, the seat is not comfortable. A little too hard. Cloud 9 seat is on the way. Other than that, this bike is a beauty. I feel like a kid again

Thanks for another nice review! Between this and the Sinch, which do you prefer? The only thing that has stopped me from pulling the trigger on the Sinch is that the throttle doesn't work from a dead stop. The Sondors Fold XS seems to be everything the Sinch is plus a color display and the ability to use the throttle from a stop (also walk assist). Thoughts?
That's a tough call, they've both got their strong points! I actually prefer the greyscale LCD on the Sinch vs the color one on SONDORS - greyscale is just easier to see in all lighting conditions. That's just personal preference though, the color does look very nice! The Fold XS is definitely more powerful and the cadence sensor is aggressively tuned, plus having the throttle work from a standstill = more "fun to ride" bike especially if you use a lot of throttle. The Sinch, on the other hand, has a better derailleur and shifter, I would say the "riding like a bike" experience is a bit more refined there, so if you're a bit more active and don't use the throttle all the time, the Sinch would be a better fit. I could get the one with 80 km range and that only costs 2.000 US dollars but i don't think it would be enough as i work as a food courier so i deliver food on my bike so would need something that lasts for at least the whole day. Any suggestions? if u could recommend which one from the list u think would be good for me or come with some other ebike names / brands that would be great thanks!!
I love it, as long it’s adjustable and can get past the 20 mph threshold I’m definitely interested! I need a bike rack though, for that price one should be included don’t you think? I’ll check out their full lineup for sure.
Yes there’s a code that escapes me at the moment, you can max out at 25mph. Do a search on UA-cam, to override maximum speed limit for sondors Fold XS, it’s a simple adjustment. 👌
Sondors fold xs vs Lectric XP? Is the suspension worth the price?? I'm looking to pull the trigger on a ebike really soon and trying to narrow my search. I really like the looks of these two. Thanks for your reviews!
Here's a list of the differences. You can make your own conclusion. Motor: Fold XS = 750W, Lectric 500W Brakes: Fold XS = Hydraulic with 180mm disks, Lectric = Mechanical with 160mm disks (Hint: hydraulic is better, bigger disks is better) Battery: Fold XS = 14 Ah, Lectric = 10.4 Ah Front Suspension: Fold XS = Air adjustable forks, Lectric = None Cadence Sensor: Fold XS = 12 magnet, Lectric = Unknown Load Capacity: Fold XS = 300 lbs, Lectric = 275 lbs Range: Fold XS = 40-60 miles, Lectric = 25-50 miles Top Speed in Class 2 mode: Both = 20 MPH Top Speed in Class 3 mode (reprogrammed ESC): Both = 25-28 MPH (Hint: Bigger is always better, Lol) I don't have either bike nor do I work for Sondors. I am in the market for a folding electric bike myself and I know which one I'd buy. I personally think the Sondors frame looks better. Plus the Lectric seems to be available from at least half a dozen other companies selling under different names. I've ridden mountain bikes with and without suspension and with and without fat tires. I'll take suspension any day of the week, especially if your roads are as bad as the ones around here. Plus, the suspension seat post for the Lectric costs $90, the Sondors is $25. The biggest plus for the Lectric is that it comes standard with fenders and a rear rack whereas Sondors charges $200 for theirs though it does include a softcase to strap to the rack for carrying things. If you don't want to spend $1700 then look at the Sondors Fold X. Same price and specs as the Lectric but has a higher capacity battery for longer range.
The shading of the display for filming would work if the angle was such that it pointed to you. Usually we were looking at the sky, which is why we can’t see anything on the screen.
@@naturalrestingface4909 Wow! Good that you are a patient person. I gave up trying myself lol... Wish you the best over there for 2021. Enjoy your new bike !
Ozzie Rose ok ty. Ya I been hearing nothing but bad on mate. So down to sondors fold xs or the rattan. I already have the lectric and yes its a all around bike for $900 and now my wife wants to ride with me
I own a RadRunner, and its all about hauling stuff, including a passenger, and accessorizing, its an awesome bike! If you need a folder and are simply looking for fun transportation, I would go with this Sondors bike. You can't go wrong with either. If you choose Rad, get the RadRunner Plus! Have fun!
@Street Tao Ended up ordering the Fold XS, theres a large Sondors FB group and everyone suggest going with the Fold XS over the Fold X. I've been waiting almost 6 weeks now and the bike is in transit now scheduled for delivery on Monday. Can't wait.
I never understood the riding in sand thing. Great review. Thinking of this or the aventor Sinch. If Aventon Sinch has a rear rack and wheel Fenders it's a hard choice.
You gotta try riding in the sand! Super fun. I heard Aventon was including fenders for free with the Sinch awhile back, not sure if they're still doing that... but it's a great bike as well. The two are very similar, but I like the configuration of the Fold XS better... the cadence sensor is more responsive and you can use the throttle from 0mph, whereas on the Sinch you have to get moving first before the throttle is active.
@@TysonRoehrkasse I see, The back order is too long for the Fold XS. I just pulled the trigger on a Ride1up LMT'D yesterday. I Think I will love that bike as well. The tires are 27.5 x 2.4 Moto X. I'm In New York City so I think it should be a good medium ground 🤔 ,No pun intended 😉
So like, im looking at the regular x fold, or the rad mini. Need it for winter commuting (less than 5 miles) and im wondering if the sondors can handle snow. Radpower says the mini can, just to be mindful of removing the battery and keeping components dry once stored
They can handle snow, you'll want to take similar precautions as with the Rad. The Fold XS will handle riding in snow better with the fat tires, but if you're going to be riding on roads that get cleared by plows (no deep snow) then the Fold X should be good as well.
all these bikes are so similar, i wonder if there is literally one factory in china making them all. any individual brand can tweak little details here and there for a price, and they all just make a lot more profit than lectric.
Stupid thumb throttle that forces you to reach way around the other components mounted on the handle bars. This looks very uncomfortable and dangerous as your grip is compromised. That and the use of the cheapest detailer along with the premium price made this one a NO for me. I can’t believe they design/ install the thump throttle having to reach around the shifter and the brake assembly? Crazy, good luck to anyone with small hands.
Definitely over-priced. Too bad no one can get it right - always shortcomings. Lectric is closest - understandably lacks in higher caliber components but $900 - come on.
I'm wondering if folded if it would fit in the front passenger seat of a van?.. almost looks like it would! Anybody try to load these on a bus or metro? In 5 years if Sondors is gone how can you replace or upgrade the battery?
It would be a tight fit but probably? Depends on the van. If you check the full written review (link in description) I included measurements of the folded dimensions. There are various companies out there that can repack batteries to renew them, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Some people just buy a second battery now and store it for years until the first one dies... but that seems like a hassle to me, you have to store it at around 50% charge, away from cold and heat, and cycle it every few months or so to make sure it doesn't degrade in storage.
For what it's worth, the Fold XS is a big bike LOL. I bought it b/c I thought it'd fold and tuck into a trunk of a car. Annnnd, that wasn't the case. It's a big, bulky, and strong, aluminum frame.
Good job on the review , that being said Sondors in the past go away with a high price tag , so the orice on this bike to me is over priced because the competition has tighten, many bikes at 15 to 16 hundred have better specs and are faster with quality parts as well..Sondors take note
@@TheDarknightkiller Interesting. Maybe they licensed the Fold X model to Aventon. I ordered the Fold XS model for end of February delivery. 750 watts vs. 500 watts and on demand throttle so I can keep up with my son on his electric Oset MX 10.

I don't have the air shocks, but if the trail is rough, the handlebars don't move. It's actually pretty tough to unlock them. Without the air shock, it vibrates every inch of fat on your body offroad lol.
I have a Fold XS on order and almost cancelled it for a Super73 but I'll hold off until they offer them with more power, 5000 watts or something. Love the look of them
Unfortunately, I don't have that helmet anymore... gave it away to a friend when I upgraded. I forget the brand, but I got it at the Electric Bicycle Center in Fullerton CA.

@@Waltkat also checkout the rattan xl it's curmudgeon on Indiegogo now
Is this better or the Aventon sinch?
color display, hydraulic brakes and slightly faster..... so yes.
How is this in rain conditions?
The shading of the display for filming would work if the angle was such that it pointed to you. Usually we were looking at the sky, which is why we can’t see anything on the screen.
Can it operate manually using the pedals without turning it on like a normal bike? Or does it only function by turning it ON?
Kelvin Mulebya all of them function without turning it on, it’s just heavier.
Ozzie Rose Okay I understand, thank you
Is it available for the European market ? Thanks for this torough review!
I just bought one but shipping to UK is end of May 2021!
@@naturalrestingface4909 Wow! Good that you are a patient person. I gave up trying myself lol...
Wish you the best over there for 2021. Enjoy your new bike !
Can you help me where do I buy the bike?
Has anybody compared the Fold XS with the Rad Mini and the Sinch? Trying to see which one is the best.
eahora x7 plus 28-32 mph full suspension hyd brakes, $1500
How do I reset or bypass my passcode if I activated by accident in settings C9? I didn’t know I did and I don’t know the passcode . Frustrated
Hi can someone tell me which out of these brands are the better choice. 1 SONDORS 2 MATE 3 RATTAN 4 LECTRIC XP 5 SINCH. THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVISE
Craig Pack mate is garbage. Rattan lies about distance and lectric is an all-around bike, haven’t heard of the sinch
Ozzie Rose ok ty. Ya I been hearing nothing but bad on mate. So down to sondors fold xs or the rattan. I already have the lectric and yes its a all around bike for $900
and now my wife wants to ride with me
eahora x7 plus $1500 full suspension, hyd brakes, 28- 32 mph NO SINCH - you have to pedal before throttle!
Trying to decide on this bike or the RadRunner.....what do you think guys..?
I own a RadRunner, and its all about hauling stuff, including a passenger, and accessorizing, its an awesome bike! If you need a folder and are simply looking for fun transportation, I would go with this Sondors bike. You can't go wrong with either. If you choose Rad, get the RadRunner Plus! Have fun!
the premium runner with full display and gears is tough to beat imo
Run, don’t walk away from Sondors! Check out their costumer service.
How about the Lectric XP? Just $899.
neither
can the bike fit in the trunk of car?
Contemplating between the fold x and fold xs. Theres a $700 price difference and is the fold xs really worth the premium price tag?
@Street Tao Ended up ordering the Fold XS, theres a large Sondors FB group and everyone suggest going with the Fold XS over the Fold X. I've been waiting almost 6 weeks now and the bike is in transit now scheduled for delivery on Monday. Can't wait.
XS for sure!
Beach riding?
So like, im looking at the regular x fold, or the rad mini. Need it for winter commuting (less than 5 miles) and im wondering if the sondors can handle snow. Radpower says the mini can, just to be mindful of removing the battery and keeping components dry once stored
They can handle snow, you'll want to take similar precautions as with the Rad. The Fold XS will handle riding in snow better with the fat tires, but if you're going to be riding on roads that get cleared by plows (no deep snow) then the Fold X should be good as well.
Just bought mine this morning ..... 4 weeks out for that nice torch color
What did you pay for it at the time? How’s it held up? And it’s the fold xs, correct?
Can i only do pedal assisst solely at a time ?
I didn't know Barry Gibb's was into e-bikes. Now isn't that a trip.
I'd love to check this bike out. How can I see and try one out? I live in the 94930 area.
Wltk exactly how available parts and battery replacement down the line?
I'm wondering can you buy spare battery and how much money?
Yes you can, check Sondor’s web site for price.
Your review is superb! I definitely buying one! I can't decide on the color I want yet. What's your suggestion? Thank you,
Thanks! I'm partial to the Torch color myself :)
all these bikes are so similar, i wonder if there is literally one factory in china making them all. any individual brand can tweak little details here and there for a price, and they all just make a lot more profit than lectric.
Any chance of a Sondors MXS or XS review?
Yes! Both are coming soon :)
have u tested the range only throttle?
any idea of the minimum seat height?
How do you make it go 28mph?
Administrative mode. You can make the adjustment inside that mode.
sir which is better? aventon sinch or sondors fold xs. thanks
@@tsubbebikers They are pretty equal
Sondors has an extremely active Facebook group, any question you post will get about 50 or more responses, that’s extremely helpful
@@godlovesyou7981 thanks
Really would like to see you guys show YOU on the bikes--From a point where we can see you on the bike and the size /fit etc
Everything is nice, but deilure of 3 Euros price on 1.7 k bike, dont understand this..
Aventon Synch VS Sondors XS
Who wins and why?
They look identical, I wonder if they are from the same OEM. Actually I take that back, it looks different around the seat post.
@@BWT599 Sondors is the company that originally designed this frame. At least that’s what Storm Sondors claimed in one of the videos.
@@TheDarknightkiller Interesting. Maybe they licensed the Fold X model to Aventon. I ordered the Fold XS model for end of February delivery. 750 watts vs. 500 watts and on demand throttle so I can keep up with my son on his electric Oset MX 10.
Can it fit in the trunk of a Honda Accord ?
Sondors vs sinch diffrence and preferred?
I just pulled the trigger on a Sinch for best value against XS.
Sinch is only 500W motor, they lie and call it a 750 but its a 500 (peak is 750W). Fold XS is a real 750 that peaks at 1000 watts.
Have you done a review on the eahora x7plus yet??
Tern ebike warranty on the frame is 10 years and 1 year on the ebike specific components.
33:40 It's famous as those rocks you're riding towards ,is where the final scene of the original Planet of the Apes was filmed , where the Statue of Liberty was in the ocean
how far it can reach out ?
I would wonder about the handle bar wobble during off road rides.
I don't have the air shocks, but if the trail is rough, the handlebars don't move. It's actually pretty tough to unlock them.
Without the air shock, it vibrates every inch of fat on your body offroad lol.
How can we buy it?
They really raised the price 500 since last year?
Yeah bullshit
😎👍❤️love my fold, but i just got a Super 73 S2 love it😎👍👍👍👍👍
I have a Fold XS on order and almost cancelled it for a Super73 but I'll hold off until they offer them with more power, 5000 watts or something. Love the look of them
what about lites??
Nice review 👍 1.7k is with shipping charges or without shipping?
Without
Without is correct, it looks like their shipping is $97 for most places in the US but may be a bit more for some locations.

Hey ElectricBikeReview.com - what kind of helmet is this / where can you purchase? Thanks
Unfortunately, I don't have that helmet anymore... gave it away to a friend when I upgraded. I forget the brand, but I got it at the Electric Bicycle Center in Fullerton CA.
Found the helmet its The Serfas® Kilowatt
Any coupon codes for this fold xs thank you?
any luck? I'm in the same boat as a coupon code would let me pull the trigger the fold x has a code "SONDORS2020" but cant be used with the xs
When was this video recorded because they're not letting people on the beach
Very early March, before quarantine :)
I notice these days that the channel is as much a promoter of Fat tyres as they formerly were promoters of e-bikes period. Oh, and the Folding bikes. Knowing which side of the bread is buttered. (so to speak)
We just try to review whatever comes up and looks interesting. I'll be publishing the $9k Riese & Müller Delite full suspension urban ebike shortly... not fat tire or folding, but very cool ;) electricbikereview.com/riese-muller/delite-gt-rohloff/
hi there, Great review (love your helmet) What name or colours they do? OK UK fan.
Found the helmet The Serfas® Kilowatt
When are you going to do a review on the rockstar
My worry with these in the frame batteries is getting a replacement down the road when they don't make this model anymore.
Would be nice to see how you fit the bike! Damn
