I know from experience that the dandruff naturally doesn't show on your scalp after washing your hair,,but it's days later after your scalp dries that it resurfaces.
I have such bad dandruff, patches near my scalp are the worst... I've been using head and shoulders to mild it down. Thanks for this, I'm glad I'm not alone.
Dandruff is most of the times caused by fungus. Drugstore shampoo won't help with this. You need antifungal shampoo you get in the pharmacy :) you could also try lavender essential oil. And at all costs avoid a moist scalp (i.e. going to bed with wet hair) :)
@@birceyurtseveroglu2902same bc of like there 2in one stuff and when u use head and shoulders it puts conditioner in your scalp and shampoo at the ends of your hair which is not good for you haur
I use ketoconazole shampoo which is basically an antifungal shampoo. It’s apparently dry scalp caused by a yeast/fungus of some sort that’s just impossible to treat otherwise. I suffered for many years before discovering the ketoconazole shampoo, and now I use it once a week and it keeps my flakes at bay. However, it may be an internal issue because the topical treatment is only temporary and requires consistency. I notice that when I wash my hair at night and wake up in the AM w a damp head my head is also itchy and flakier than usual. I suspect the moist environment helps the fungus to flourish. So, I tend to air dry my hair after a wash for best results. Hopefully this comment helps others.
My dermatologist recommended As I Am dry itchy scalp line. U can find itt at Sally's. This line is for vurly hair and won't dry your hair so much that it's brittle. Leave on scalp a few minutes as u massage imto the scalp. Rimse and repeat once. There's aconditioner to use also as needed.
You have the perfect routine down because dandruff like the big 3 - moist, dark and warm environments. So it is best to make sure you don't go to bed with damp hair; get as much sunlight as you can because there's studies that show sunlight might help soothe dandruff ; only wear head wear when absolutely necessary; and don't wash your hair with hot water, only lukewarm or room temperature
All you really need is a couple of spoonfuls of arm and hammer baking soda mixed with water in a bottle while you’re shampooing your hair add that in as well you will get rid of all that use it twice a week Wala no big bucks spending. Been doing this for over 30 yrs
I used one of these scalp massagers but it ended up picking up all the oil and buildup, even when I washed it and it didn’t make a difference after a while. The thing that’s helped me is dandruff/dry scalp shampoos and double shampooing as the first shampoo just washed the surface oil/dirt. And rinsing really well and sometimes using a clarifying shampoo every so often.
I also read that washing less frequently can cause dandruff too. When I washed everyday I still had it and now that I don't wash daily it seems worse. Idk I'll try Klorane tho. I got my head scrubber already lol 😅
Sometimes clove water helps too. Hope the bullying stopped for you. I was bullied too do to my scalp & hair issues at 12 too. I have thick hair & it took me a minute to learn how to take care of it. But by my teens people sincerely would complement my locks. Hang in there. It does get better!!
@@Carameldamour uhh ..you literally said "It is normal you don't see any more dandruff... You just washed your hair!!!!!!" ... It's pretty clear that you made that connection, no need to be snarky
@@omnium_gatherum yes I did because fresh after a wash it is normal to not see much of it. It starts building back up as your hair scalp dries. So fresh off a wash you won't see much.
Omg yes I’m getting it, two questions though. One where did you get the shampoo and how much does it cost, and two do you have to blow dry and style after? Oh and also does if matter if the shower is warm or cold?
@@drprog6898 about how long one would see results with it. I used ketoconazole shampoo for a month to try and help my dry scalp and scalp sores prurigo nodularis but scalp got drier. Is that what it's supposed to do.
Guys you can use even another good clarifying shampoo that is the best for your scalp (this is good too) if you don't have it/ it isn't suitable for your type!
if you just had a little bit of vinegar to your soap while you're in the shower and do that it gets rid of dandruff too and some more natural than anything
I have a 10 y/o daughter who had the worst itchy flakes. I mixed up some essential oils in my kitchen and BOOM…no more itch, no more flakes!!! It’s not FDA approved and you will smell medicated for a few hours, but this has worked for the past few years. Better than TGel shampoo and everything I brought OTC. I would love to send you a bottle so you can see for yourself. I don’t want a dime from you btw…just to help😊❤️

Some is just caused by dry skin not yeast. Usually it is from the hard water
Warning: this shampoo is a steroid
