I can't express how helpful this video was. Im at 3 wks into my abvd treatment, shedding more and didn't know when the "moment" is that you know it's time to shave. All of the people in this video helped me, and Im so thankful to all of you. Best of luck to all of you, incl. the people in this Comment section! ❤

Loved hearing these stories. I am right there at the place where my hair is barely there....nice to know the range of feelings are common.

I was not prepared to wake up one morning and ALL my eyebrows and eyelashes were on the pillow. I LOST IT. Called out of work - scared my boss because I was sobbing. Somehow that was worse than the shoulderblade-length hair on my head slowly drifting away...until I got ANGRY one day and went to a salon and had them chop it.

It's the most distressing experience I've ever had. I could manage all the rest of the cancer but losing the hair on my head left me feeling filthy, dirty, degraded and robbed of self-esteem. Hands down the worst experience in 60 plus years of life.

It's such a traumatic experience. I remember how robbed, I felt, as well - of my self-esteem, of my identity. Thank you for opening up about what you felt. -Stephanie

At first it was tramautizing but when it starts to fall off in clumps and hair is everywhere, its better off to just shave it off. It’s the lesser evil than the two (patches of bald versus full bald).

To have my head properly shaved I had to go to a male salon. This was really intimidating could cancer support possibly offer shaving done by women. Ihad to go to 4 salons before I could get what was needed and the whole time I was made to feel like a freek as I was a woman, they didn't know or think that I was a cancer patient.

I am about to start chemotherapy
Long blond hair was my joy. Is it best to shave it off rather than wait for it to fall out. Being a female did you use head scarfs? How long does it take to come back.
    Scared and nervous 😢
