About this project: This knife is one of my best made. My RH Logo is the most favorite part of mine. And the logo really suits on the top of knife and this Pocket knife is very smooth in folding. This Knife even has a sharp bevel to cut items.

This is the nicest thing I’ve seen you make on this channel so far! Only comment would be consider finishing the wood with something less glossy, that gets absorbed better into the handle. Congrats on the lathe looking forward to seeing what else you make with it!
Well i had a similar comment but i think the wood itself isnt good for making handles look after he finished sanding it still not smooth enough!!!

Attractive knife? Yup. Master? Absolutely no. A master wouldnt have put that wood handle in the acid. A master wouldnt have used clear coat on the wood. A master wouldnt have rushed the build for the sake of a video. A master would have put a blade catch lock in there so it doesnt slam shut while using it and cuts off his index finger. This is far from a master. It's a pretty knife though. If he had taken his time and done it right, he'd have an amazing knife, worthy of passing down.

RH, ive messed around with blacksmithing. Started in Canada with mike great uncle.

Pretty amazing knife, your skill improves with every one.
Lathes are easy to learn (machinist here) but they can be dangerous, the first bit of advice I can offer is what I tell everyone learning, if you have long hair,put it under a hat, no jewelry,meaning rings and necklaces, no long sleeve shirts, all of these thing can and will get caught in a spinning lathe.
Never wrap sandpaper around a part while turning it and NEVER wrap your fingers around a part while sanding,I snapped my thumb and fore-finger doing this,the sand paper locks up and the part keeps turning.

So ...... Nope not done it yet , I'm still planning on making at least a chopping knife for the kitchen . I thought about looking for a kit to build one . I might go and start on it this weekend as I've got a few days off .

@@ianjewkes8318 I've got an old saw blade and I'm going to use a die grinder to cut it out . I work with wood at work and build things for different companies. I'm being lazy but I'll get to it soon . I've built a carving knife before and even carved a decoy duck with it .

All these restoration and reconstruction videos and your honestly the best youtuber that ive seen make them. I was also wondering if you take to take a class to do this stuff or you just learn to do it and your good from there. Im wondering cuz this stuff interests me

Very nicely done . My only concern is one of safety. What keeps the blade in the open position ? Are you relying on just the pressure on the blade when you are using it ?
As for learning lathe usage , there are many online sources . The main thing , as with any tool is staying aware of loose clothes , watches or other items that can get caught. Take it slow , and practice . Stay safe .
