Great video. this is exactly what was wrong with my washing machine. I ordered the part. Then, the step-by-step, easy to see video helped me change my water pump. My washer works great now,.... and my wife thinks I'm a genius!
Looks like you've gained some serious bragging rights with your wife now! Just make sure she doesn't start expecting you to fix everything around the house. But hey, I'm thrilled that the video helped you out and that your washer is working great. Keep up the handy work!
Most of the time, if the door doesn't unlock, it's because the water hasn't been pumped out of the tub. Once you remove the water, the door should unlock. If you have a wet vac, you can disconnect the drain hose from the wall and use the vac to pump water out of the drain line, which can help prevent a mess. However, it sounds like there may be an issue with your drain pump assembly.
@onlineappliancetech after sitting overnight it was able to pump the water out and the door unlocked. Filter is completely full of small plastic beads, hair elastics and plastic. I got the set secondhand from a family who had 7 kids. She said they didn't even use the dryer anymore as it made a bad sound. Turned out it was a pen and a C battery in the blower fan. The lint trap had been sitting over an inch above its correct position due to an accumulation of lint and garbage at the base, allowing large debris through into the blower fan. I think the impeller on the washer may be having the same trouble as these plastic beads are just small enough to get through the filter holes. About to remove and clean the pump as well since its apart already. I did do about 10 loads of laundry before it malfunctioned.

Just got this error, machine went stop pumping and door won't unlock. I'll pull it apart tomorrow, see if this assembly looks damaged.
