Organizing my trays by letters, numbers, symbols and so on is a huge time saver for me. Since I always do it and use the same system, I always know where things are going to be.
I’m about 1/3 of the way done with A Court of Silver Flame and I’m loving it.
Thank you for your kind wishes regarding my situation of transitioning my mother’s rehab care to long term. It’s so emotional and stressful and I swear I’m in negative spoons. I wish there was more that I could do for her. On a positive -ish note, she thinks she is part of a singing and dancing production and loves to tell us all about this fictional part of her world. It makes her very happy, so at least there is that.

I love my tray towers. For me, it works great. I have the trays numbered 1, 2 , 3, etc, and then I follow the legend. This works best for me and my Dyslexia.

As an adult I understand the want to collect and display legos…..but when I was a kid, my parents would get me and my sister the medieval/ Robin Hood / Pirate sets for Christmas (no idea how they could afford them, but they got them for us every Christmas). I remember we had fun building the castles, following the directions….but the absolute best part was right after, when all the pieces went together in a big bin and my sister and I would build our own giant elaborate castles and medieval towns.
It’s good for kids to use their imagination, create and learn to do their own thing.
Thank you for the WIP and chat, Katie! Congratulations on 20K, thats amazing! I'm going to be the controversial one here :). Let me start off by saying that both of my kids are in their 20's now and I have 2 dogs, no cats. Neither the dogs or kids mess with my stuff soooo, I actually do kit up into trays and think it is amazing and saves a ton of time! I put the sticker on the outside of the tray, I pour the entire bag of drills into the tray (of course 310's or similar may have extra bags that I add later but I am more of a confetti type) and I put the trays in alphabetic, numberical, symbol order. I never have to empty or refill the tray, shake a couple times and place my drills. I am a pretty quick diamond painter, not as quick as you but working from the trays seems to make it even quicker. BUT my daughter just had a baby last month so once she is mobile, I will have to rethink my trays, or put a gate around my desk :). I'm ready for Summer with the Masters! This will be my first time, can't wait! Hope you have a great rest of your week and I will 'see' you Friday!

Great chat today! I like the trays I have already. You are doing a great job with this kit. 🦋
Put the lid on the grid tray, then tap the drills out. That’s what I do and they all come out easily. I only have the multiplacing tray, and I love it! I’m not as experienced at multiplacing though. I can pick up any number of drills at a time with this tray. As for the funnel lid, I suggested to the shop owner that it may be easier to use if the funnel lid had the hole in the corner. I personally didn’t purchase the funnel lid, because I wasn’t sure if it’d work properly.

The tray tower idea stresses me out. I’m clumsy enough that it would be a disaster waiting to happen!
I use the screw top art dot pots and if I just need a couple of one colour I find it easier to pour a few into the pot’s lid, easier to control small numbers 😊

I totally agree on the tray towers/multiple trays. Idk how people can do that....I'm not so much a clutz with my feet, but I am with my hands and that would not be good for me, lol!

I would say the pink tray with the lines is meant to be used with a 5-placer and nothing much larger for the reason you discovered. A larger one will pick up extra drills, but a smaller tip will easily grab the intended amounts. 🐦🥀

Omg lately I naturally started doing that "single placing with a multiplacer" thing you mentioned, but was starting to worry it was something you're not supposed to do in dp 🤣 glad to hear im not the only one who does that!
I love the trays in your video from Creations by Elle! I make it a game to first single place any of the slots directly to the right of the the 3, 4 and 5 diamond sections…anticipating the need to place the higher multiple sections!
I also always use the flat lid and tap the bottom of the tray to get all of the diamonds in the bottom right corner on the same end as the spout. I do not use the spout at all. It is much faster, once the diamonds are all in the bottom corner (tapping the bottom of the tray with the flat lid on really helps), it’s really speedy to just pour them in to the containers from that bottom corner.
I love working with the sections because it helps me with lining up the diamonds

Hey Katie I got the larger grid tray with the funnel top and it's okay it wrks however I prefer the the regular tray for both multi/single placing. Personally I think the special grid trays creates more wrk.(personal preference). Can't wait for the Summer With The Masters 2023. Getting ready to kit up my DP today❤😊

🌷 I still love Lego myself. I highly suggest getting the up house, we just built it this weekend. It’s a super fun build. Waiting for the lego villains set to come out, which includes the little mermaid vhs tape!

EW containers are my go to for kitting up into, but I will have some colors in trays all the time. I just finished Some Enchanted Evening and I picked 11 colors (some blues and greens) to keep in trays for the entire picture. I find that any more than that doesn't save me any additional time.

Tried having more than one color out at a time the other day, and screwed the wrong cap on the wrong jar. Didn't realize it until I went to refill the jar. It meant taking over a 100 diamonds off the canvas. I guess some people can handle it though.
🌻 I sort my symbols by type in case there are similar ones, so I can see them together to figure out which I want. Once I get going a bit I barely need that. I saw the 2nd of those trays before - I didn't think it would be worth it as it limits multi-placing to 5 or less, but I get your thoughts on placing 2 and 2 for example. I'm not as smooth on doing that as you. But the extra issues of emptying the trays neatly I didn't think of, but I don't think I'll switch because of that. I also don't use the multiple trays as I also think that is an accident waiting to happen, for me anyway. The part of diamond painting I don't like is fixing something after placing the wrong drills. If others can make it work for them - great.
Loved your how to diamond paint faster video. I am working on my SWTM23 kit. It is The Fitting by Viktor Schramm. This piece has lots of confetti but I am moving along pretty well. Really looking forward to this event again.🌹💐🌸🌼

Good morning Katie, congratulations on 20grand subscribers. For emjoies I used surfers and swimers. Why? Because when I was young I would head either to the public pool to swim, or the beach( Seal Beach or Huntington Beach) to Boogie Board or body surf.
I have entered in DP for Pets and Pride( for who is hosting Pride). Would love to include Summer with the Masters if the event is two months.

Ive read about half way into A Throne of Glass series, and i really should get back into it. I'll have to start from the beginning lol, and i have not read Crescent city yet either. I've been behind on reading for a while now, trying to get back into it. Also, cant wait for the live this friday!

The grid trays are fun but I am way faster with a regular tray. I find that I run out of the long lines too quickly. I rarely do 3,4,5 placing. I use my 9 placer and I can grab the right amount easier from the long lines. The bella versions is the best in my opinion because of the ease of sliding the lid shot to shake them all down to the spout. If you are going to go with a grided tray go for the Max version from Bella Art. As for tray towers…..they are a game changer but only for people who don’t have little kids or pets of any kind. The ease of Kitting up into trays (preferably with sliding lids like Bella trays) is amazing. Its a luxurious pleasure for sure since the cost of building the collection is hefty. But Kitting up and dekitting is so easy. Not to mention it cuts about 2 hours on average per canvas when I compare the times on my finishes from before I had my towers. I average 9 finishes a month so I have a lot of data in my gemsflow to back this up. I am looking forward to Junes events. I will be doing Vas Avec Marguerites by Van Gogh for my 3rd summer with the Masters canvas. I chose a small one because I am going big for the Pride events with Rainbow Flower Power. I also have a DP for pets canvas planned and a fantasy/craftibly one to double dip in 2 other events. Busy month of diamond painting ahead! Congrats on the Sub Milestone!☔️
I’ve always used my multiplacer to single place it does save time! I used to have a 70 tray tower and it did make me faster it eliminates pouring diamonds in and out so it does save time. I can’t reach for them now due to my injuries so it’s baggies and single tray for me now. Does seem to slow me down

He a placer that picks up At Most the number of the biggest grid. That would make it easier to not pick up extras.
So I saw a post in the DAC VIP group in the past few months of someone sharing a picture, they use the stacked trays for storage and apparently there was a spill overnight that the poster says was a “normal bump in the night” that they woke up to, no pets or young children. Just that they woke up to drills spilled everywhere. So reason there, trays for storage aren’t good! But also what “normal” bump in the night causes a storage thing to fall over!? I’m too clumsy on my own to use anything but close able containers 🌺

I have been practicing with 7 placers now, slowing moving up. I don't think I could do a tower, I am clumsy as it is, I drop the ones in the containers now if I am not paying attention. LOL 🦋🌹🏵🌼

i think im in the minority but i dont like the gridded trays. i have one and i never use it.
It’s painful watching you try to use these trays. 😂 I really don’t think the special trays are good unless you’re color blocking. I cringe when I see a bunch of trays with drills in them. 😬 One color at a time for me. Just too risky. I tried reading the ACOTAR series and stopped after the second one. It’s not my genre and thought it would change with that series and it just confirmed why I don’t like it. Won’t be reading The Fourth Wing but it’s crazy how popular it is. I’m not on TikTok either because I’m trying to be on my devices less, not more. Plus I would scroll too and waste a ton of time. 💐
