Flyin Ryan and Hemi Fever do tunes for the second gen Rams and Dakotas. I had gotten my tuner and tunes from Flyin Ryan. I'm in the process of building my engine so I'll be getting an new tune in the spring.
I just got my pacesetter's and y from Summit Racing with the copper gaskets, a thrush muffler , it's going to exit in front of the rear tire, out of a Bully black wrinkle finish exhaust tip. Ty for the insight. I have basically the same Body truck. Mine is a 2000 4x4 5.9 magnum sport. It looks to be about the same height as yours. I cut the next model year dually fenders in about 4&1/2 inches to give it a stadium Baja look.
I ended up having to take my booster off. Took the prop valve off first. Wasn’t enough. Took booster off and the header literally fell into place. Wasn’t bad overall. Just time consuming
Well I’ma get an exhaust shop to make mine go to the cat so it runs right but fitment looks good and straight pipes don’t sound good when an engine ain’t tuned for it they just sound angry and what not I have a glass back and that gets rid of high pitch sounds that u only hear in straight pipes while having best flow. I’ve seen dynos of these and they give like 20 crank torque and 30 hp to crank idk what whp would be but good for the effort I’m just building my engine for efficiency so I’m doing free hp mods as they call it
Yo brother, getting ready to buy those long tubes and the pacesetter y pipe. Is that ur set up or did u have those custom bent? And I have 2000 Laramie 1500 5.9 mag, no lift, n I think no leveler, has the tow package with 3.92s, it seems to have ass end higher. That's my fear with no lift and the shaft issue I'm reading
what company did you use. I cant find any long tubes. Nobody has anything for the ram. I have 97 with a 5.2. Are they the pacesetter lpng tibe? Chinese knock off? Summit racing? Any body knows if i can get the summit racing headers for the small block LA to fit into the truck ? Any modification?
@@bucsTILLdeath they must have quit making them for the 2nd Gen Dodge Ram Magnum Motors because it won't let me search for it for my truck and I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 V8
Lol yeah, my check engine light came back on with the code for rear o2 sensor. Got under to check it out and and the tape was melted and the wires grounded on the pipe. I got it done up now though.
I’m thinking about replacing mine cause I know they leak will they fit even tho i have a flow master and the exhaust is not stick I was wondering will they fit?
Sorry I was typing like a dumbass, so I was thinking about replacing my headers but not getting the y pipe just the manifold and the gaskets and I hear sometimes they do not fit with the stock down pipe, I think mine is a flow master 44 duals will aftermarket headers fit in that down pipe?
Well if it doesn't any exhaust shop could make you a pipe to fit. But I simplified my set up, headers come out 3", y pipe is 3", test pipe(cat look alike) is 3", and the magnaflow muffler is single 3" in and dual 3" out. 3.5" tips out back. You'll loose power if you bottleneck your exhaust. Hope this helps.
No. It's evap leak. Been hunting for the cause since I got the truck. Replaced the charcoal canister, evap solenoid, smoke tested the lines, blew all the pieces of charcoal out of the lines, new fuel cap. Still comes back. I gave up lol
I have the issue of hitting front driveshaft I called pacesetter and he said it's a defect and must have moved on the jig while they were bending the pipe so I get one new header I hope he is right
Well turns out the new header came same issue so I beat it in with a hammer till there was no more rubbing also before doing what I did make sure if you get ceramics run them for 400 miles before you make your decision because on the first set I had coating peel
My coating pealed as well. Right up by the bend at the collector. From what I read it's common. Kind of wish I just bought the painted long tubes, stripped that black paint and put my own high heat enamel on. Probably would have faired better.
Well it turns out summit sent me the silver painted headers is what I'm thinking Cuz with the new ones I have no issues other than to bash them to make driver side clear drive shaft
Also I'm pretty picky when options for long tubes are select and you spend almost 500$ the way I look at it do it right or stop making them cuz with headers full custom exhaust full motor rebuild and a new computer in the mix I'm up to 11,000$
@@MrAjk333 by feel from the top. I have a Milwaukee m12 ratchet so that definitely made it easier. Run the bolts in with the Milwaukee, take the extension off and put it on a normal ratchet and get it tight. All the other bolts and studs was tightened with a wrench. There's just not enough room back there for a wrench. Hope this helps.

Nice! Post a video brother
Curious, how have the pacesetters done in the past years?

Ceramic coating doesn't last. Hopefully you got the painted ones

They are pacesetter long tubes. Hope this helps
The LA is different than the magnum as well so no go on using parts for an LA on your magnum.
What company did you get it from
Sounds great, reminds me of my truck.
What kinda of headers did you put on it?
Where did you get that cold air intake? I cant find that kind for my 99 dodge ram 1500 5.9l

Do you have 5/16 1 inch bolts on the headers?

With the Headers did you see any better Gas Mileage?
Yes.
At first I did. Not anymore. Heavy foot syndrome
Does the passenger side header block the oil filter from coming out?
Nope.
So how does it sound with full exhaust behind the y pipe?
brandon webb I will be uploading a video this weekend
New video with exhaust clip just posted. 😉
I'm really curious if sct sent you any info on the tunner I can find anything
Nothing man. Never responded
@@bucsTILLdeath gotcha thanks anyways
Does the PCM still have the factory tune? If so, how does it run?
Yes. Runs fine. Check engine light comes on after 15 mins
Blame Mexico is that because of the lack of a read o2 sensor?
@@cosmicsealgaming yes. It's ready 1 volt on the rear o2 sensor which makes the computer think I have a faulty catalytic converter.
nice truck, did u finish it with a muffler after Y pipe?
Dallas Kaine yes I will do an update video very soon.
Update video is up
What brand did you go with for headers ??
Pacesetter

I'm not sure I understand your question. Try again.

What codes are you getting? p0420 Cat failure?
P0141 and p0138. It's unrelated but I also have a p0441

No. It's evap leak. Been hunting for the cause since I got the truck. Replaced the charcoal canister, evap solenoid, smoke tested the lines, blew all the pieces of charcoal out of the lines, new fuel cap. Still comes back. I gave up lol

Yeah the lift definitely helped with clearance. Sorry about the late response. Just uploaded a new exhaust clip 😉

Glad to help man.
How did you get to those bolts in the back on the driver side? Go through wheel well or just fit a ratchet some how?
