Why not try to show a dress at the upper end of the budget? Try on several dresses beyond the two she already tried. I am entertained by the variety. And the show is for entertainment.
She's right about the dress being classy and timeless. The mom is right about the cut, taking it to the next level. The bro is right in saying it doesn't eclipse the bride.
Every woman should have a brother like this at her bridal gown shopping. He was lovely and made good points without being insulting the way we've seen so many entourages behave.
Love the first dress- less is more. Second dress has been seen before on this show- tacky disco singer costume, the brother is spot on.

I think his comment may be out of context a bit. So many women come in with more reasonable budgets but want more expensive dresses and leave so disappointed. This appointment just happened to be quite the opposite and was probably a nice change for once.
He always puts people with smaller budgets in overpriced dresses but when someone comes in with a big budget he puts them in "cheaper" dresses. It's like he saves the expensive dresses for people with smaller budgets and then makes them feel bad about it telling them that they need to raise their budget for the gown of their dreams. Somehow the less expensive dresses are never around when people need it.

The moto of this shop is sell, sell, sell. Brides and their needs come last. Compare this to Gok who advises his brides to try a third option even if they love the second dress.

Every time I watch this show I think I’d shop till I find the one that I can’t get off my mind. And I know it would take more than 3 dress with a shop full of dresses to woo me

She looks very elegant in her chosen dress. I much prefer this style with the subtle detail on the skirt. She looks everything and more and I love that a brother is paying for it. I also think it’s lovely that this brother was emotional in the right way about his sister. Ronald Price does great gowns for a pretty good price too.

As always...if the bride has a larger budget, they end up with a dress well under that. Small budget? They are always shown dresses well above their limit. Rebecca looked lovely in the gown she chose, definitely a good style on her.

Right - he's candid without being insulting. He criticized the dress, not the bride.
The first was gorgeous. It gave her a tiny waist and was strikingly beautiful and enhanced her. The second - her brother was right. It did shorten her silhouette but also made her look thicker round the middle despite having a nice figure. The first suited her perfectly.
IMO, it was one of the best bridal dresses I have seen on this show. It was perfect for her, gave her a great figure and silhouette and was classy and romantic.

The first dress was made for her and one of my favorites ever.
The 2nd dress was absolutely stunning and fit her beautifully. But, I was only looking at the dress and not the bride.
The gown she chose was so Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn. It accentuated her beauty without distraction.

I think they could have shown more A line or princess dresses with that high a budget. The first dress flatters her but it’s still the first dress she’s ever tried on. Or she should’ve gone to Lancashire. 🤭🤭 Gok would have done his best to make sure she had her bridal moment with the perfect dress.

Well, she looks stunning in the princess dress, absolutely gorgeous. And despite her loving the second, I have to agree with her family that it did nothing to her and took the eye away from her, she has a small face with soft feminine features, the bling overshadowed that somehow. Congratulations to the beautiful bride (super well-dressed brother by the way), she picked a timeless dress that she will look back on 20 years from now and still see the beauty of it.
She's a stunning bride. I hear what they were saying about the second dress, I just wished they tried another figure hugging dress that was more classy than bedazzled. I'm curious what the bride would've though. Oh well, the dress she chose made her look very pretty.

Fell in love with the first dress I tried on. It was all over at that point. Ordered it on the spot and to this day, when I look at my wedding photos, I couldn’t imagine wearing anything else. Still love it!

I chose my dress from a catalog and loved everything about it!! The shop ordered their sample in my size. I only had to add a strip of fabric to cover my bra in the back. Sometimes, it is possible to be in love at first sight. Same happened when I first met my husband. He didn't know it just yet, but it was love at first sight with him too!!

The second dress has appeared twice on this show and lost out to a princess a-line both times. The dress she chose was classy and gorgeous on her. I agree with her brother. The fish-tail dress had a show-girl feel.

With that budget, she should have tried on more dresses. But I 100% agree with her mum and brother's assessment of both dresses. That first dress was classy and glamourous, whilst the second dress made her look like a Vegas showgirl! She didn't look terrible in it, but it just didn't suit her. Every dress isn't for every body. She made the right choice.

The dress is a great cut. This is a fantastic dress for many bodies. The family is right. The over the top costume-like glamour gowns will embarrass brides in a decade.
Most will be divorced and have many other things to be embarrassed about at that point.

This episode feels like "we are closing in 1 hour and rushing it through". All the concern is avoid the budget, and they only showed her 2 dresses.. That's too little by far

I don’t get fishtail dresses, they usually are unflattering for mostly everyone and this wasn’t an exception. I also don’t care for Pnina designs bc they’re a bit tacky for my taste.
The first dress was regal and beautiful, it made her look like a queen. The price rarely reflects how flattering it is which I find amusing. I would’ve had her tried on a few more dresses but that’s just me.
But she only tried 2 dresses! With budget like that, I would try at least 10!

Having watched a lot of say yes to the dress. They usually try a lot of dresses but cut them out if it wasn't an interesting reaction and to give the viewer the impression that it's easy and fast to find a dress at their store

You are writing that drama, my dear. Just say you hate David and no matter what he does you will find fault with it. He acted the same way he always does when the bride doesn't like the second dress - he told her to go back to the dressing room and put the first one back on. I want you to detail for us all the clues that you got from his words and gestures that he was mad or upset in any way.
Sometimes I think that you people who pick David and this shop apart every single video have a problem with hate in your heart. You see what you want to see instead of reality. .
All these different versions of SYTTD have a "scripted" ambiance. Gok has to fix the emotional problems his brides come on with. Lori and Monte have to contend with terrible family members. And this one usually has budget issues - most of the time having no money but want the stars and the moon.
The fact that you have seen these so many times yet haven't picked up on these consistencies says something about you. This is a production, with brides who apply for the show, producers who mold the episodes for better drama, and personalities who need to have s schtick.
So if you don't like the schtick of this version, fine. But don't forget that it is a show, with people directing it this way.
