NIghtwish as badass as they are, has NEVER gone harder than this song. Even Bye-Bye Beautiful wasn't as brutal as this monster! The combination of Tarja and Marco on this particular song from ONCE was just a true metal 'moment'! Now, having said this, I really do think it's WAY past time for these two to just retire and go live together somewhere and be happy. They're both getting a little too old to carry this torch for too much longer. Tarja's voice is NOWHERE near as powerful as it used to be. Marco is really starting to age rather badly, imho.
Tarja's voice is just as powerful, she only have changed her technique for singing metal and have a less classical approach, wich may not work well for older NW songs when she used to sing with a different technique, so it may not please everyone, especially not old NW fans who doesn't follow her solo career. But she sounds completely different when doing actual classical music or opera in her classical or christmas concerts and goes full on classical technique, and her classical singing is lot better than during NW times actually. @@Marcusrafaelfet Calm down junior! I've been following Tarja AND Nightwish for over 25 years now. I LOVE old Nightwish, and I also love most of Tarja's solo career stuff. Still, having been a metal fan for longer than you've been breathing oxygen, I can honestly say my opinion stands. BOTH She and Marco are NOT getting any younger and it's definitely starting to show. Even IF Marco were to even want to return to Nightwish at some point in the future, he most likely couldn't handle the touring schedule. So, go sit down, take a breath, and try again when you're a little more experienced.
@@Theodax1 I'm calm, I'm only giving my opinion and showing a few evidences to prove my point, but you sound a little triggered to be contradicted. I do follow Tarja for almost two decades and I think thats enough time to know just aswell about what I'm talking about. I know they are getting older, but to say Tarja's voice isn't powerful anymore is just not true when there are plenty of performances, like the ones I mentioned, showing otherwise; those performances shows her vocals can actually be more powerful than NW times if that was her goal. What really changed is her technique when singing metal wich is indeed lighter as she uses a more frontal, nasal, less round placement now, so I can even agree that it might sound less powerful sometimes, especially on her mid range, but it has nothing to do with her age or a vocal decline but technical adjustments she made and that she can change whenever she wants, and it shows when she is doing different types of songs, as I have shown, there are clear changes to her technique when she is doing musical, classical songs, opera, or parts when she feels like it needs. And by the way, I wish she would use a more classical approach always as that's when she sounds her best to me but I respect her artistic choices as she have always been experimental with her vocals and she have never wanted to sound too classical when singing metal. But even if a vocal decline was true for both of them, music is what they love doing and they are still able to give us great music, so I stand with my point wich is they have no reason to stop at all.
