Trumpet Lesson - Help! My Mouthpiece is Stuck!

Welcome to Dr. Selfridge's UA-cam classroom! This video is for trumpet players who have a stuck mouthpiece. CAUTION: If your mouthpiece is stuck in the trumpet, do not pull with an excessive amount of force and don't EVER use tools at home to try to pull it out. I love this! This made me laugh! The mouthpiece on my old trumpet got stuck one time, and I made the mistake of trying to get it out with pliers. It scratched up the mouthpiece pretty badly, but luckily, there was no more damage than that. The next day, my band director used one of those mouthpiece remover things, and it worked. :-) i'll never repeat that mistake again with my new trumpet.

I once was at home and got my mouth piece unstuck by putting a little bit of hot water on it and then twisting

Thanks man, it was stuck but my music teacher always said to not pull on it. Once I saw this I did the little twist thing and it worked! Thanks I appreciate the help

please help, my mouthpiece is stuck and my dad said he is going to design and 3d print a mouthpiece puller .i said no, the trumpet is a very delicate instrument, and you have no prior knowledge whatsoever on a brass instrument. he told me "it's fine, i'm an engineer, i'm pretty sure building robots is more complex than a trumpet". now he is considering looking at a 2d image from amazon and plotting to build a mouthpiece puller. keep in mind, prior to this conversation he told me he could take it out with pliers, if course i would not let him do such a thing. he also told me last year when i accidentally dropped my trumpet and bent one of the valves out of place, that he could USE A HAMMER TO SMASH IT BACK IN PLACE. he thinks that he will print a mouthpiece puller out of pla plastic and it will magically work when he didn't even know what a lead pipe was and how it could get severely damaged until just today. please say something so i can show him some insight off of a pro
