William, what were the symptoms? Unsure if returns are possible(maybe restocking fee)?
@@R.Akerman-oz1tf the machine became unresponsive, I called Sears and paid for diagnosis. They informed me that the mother board failed and I looked into it. It was easier than replacing the mother board on a PC.
@@williamtaylor3687TYSM My drive motor works intermittently. New Cap=no change. Pcb has no burns or bad caps. Guess it's back to error codes & recalibration again.

I think mine went out after 8 years same washer as this one hopefully it’ll work again not willing to spend 500+ on a new one right now.
My spring clips fell out/off when I removed the panel. I didn't realize until I went to reattach the panel. Nothing under the washer....any ideas? Can I replace these?
My lid lock won't engage. I've replaced the inlet water pump, It was leaking. I replaced the lid lock switch. I have rubbed the tabs on the control panel with alcohol. Still no luck.
So I have a roper No not from three's company , I noticed that the same control board is the same as my roper iam looking on ebay so I'm wondering if I can't match the same model number can I work with one that is identical to the Old one is the program inside the chip different .
I tried really really hard with my putty knife to shift those clips. No dice.
But I could reach the underside of the clips by putting my hand over the rim of the basket. And then a quick squeeze and they came right off.
I would strongly recommend that as an alternative, simpler, maybe even more reliable method. Try it, you'll see.
The control board wasn't even the problem, but it never does harm to clean it with a little air-in-a-can (don't shake the can), and check that none of the capacitors are puffed up.
Thanks for this. A combination of the putty knife and reaching over the rim helped me get it off.

I'm at a loss. I replaced the motherboard along with locking switch and my Amana washer is still not working correctly. It fills up then won't flip into the wash cycle, but will randomly agitate for 1 second then stop every minute or so until I drain it. This all happened after a electrical surge. I replaced the motherboard because it had signs of damage, but the motor looked clean and no signs of damage although I don't have a multimeter to actually test it like he did in the video.

@@ericschoofs7941Yes. It was the shift actuator.
"Rev006" or "Rev011" may be labeled somewhere on your shift actuator. If so make sure your order the correct one as they look completely identical besides for those numbers.
I found an aftermarket part on Amazon for $35 compared to the $85-100 for the OEM part.

I did all this video said but when I plugged it up the lid lock lit up no water so I unplugged it and waited plugged it back up and it had a surge fire came from back what I do wrong

Original part would be $684 . I bought mine for $99 off eBay. Taken from a floor model. No one will even come out to where I live to do repair!,
I think these washer companies designed these washers to be unreliable on purpose.
My last washer lasted 35 years. This new one lasted 4 1/2 years. We are in a disposable society now. Nothing much is made to last. Imagine all the sky high appliance dump yards!!

I found a control board for $99 on eBay. Maytag wanted $684 and I waited months for it but they had no idea when it might be shipped. Took 10 minutes to install the new one. So grateful.
100%. This is my second Maytag washer in the last 5 years and I’ve had to replace the control board 3 times!
This is insane. We were much better off before these electronics. Machinery lasted. But it is true that machines are intentionally no longer made to last.
Apparently the first light bulb made would have lasted forever but then they realized that there would be no money made so it was then made with the wispy filament.

Replaced the board ran it, tried to reset it the damn new board burned up again.
