Wdym that is the most simple thing i’ve ever done all my friends i play with have done this but recently i got an actual handbrake and its better than makeshift console thingy.
It is extremely well made though bro, honestly if you sand it, bondo some of the creases/holes, and paint it. It’d look way better than most setups out there.
I bough my g29 last week i got the full bundle with the shifter its good so far i spent the first 2 days messing with the settings and finding what im comfortable with i tested different games like assetto, forza, carx, city car sim, but assetto is definitely the best game so far, problem i had was the wheel being too stiff i had to play around ingame settings tuning the ffb had to use a lut file, btw the wheel is loud especially in forza horizon 5 if you want a quiter one i think a belt based wheel is better. but its fun you wont regret it
I’ll give you a piece of advice that I wish I had taken back when I first got into sim racing - if you really like the G29 and want an upgrade, do it right. Set a budget and start putting aside money each month to save up for it, and then go all in. I went from a G29 to a Thrustmaster base to a used CSL elite and finally to a full Moza setup. I made some money back reselling the old products, but I would have saved so much if I had just got the Moza stuff all at once. Sim racing is an amazing hobby, and if you have a lot of fun and want to invest in a better experience, don’t just go for the cheap option, treat yourself 🤝
My friend invited me to his house once to try his sim setup. It was similar to this and he had spray painted it black. He made it from the 2x4 pieces from those crates they use to ship things. We work at a body shop and sometimes big parts come in these wooden crates. He had been saving piece to build his rig. I thought he had bought it. I’ve been wanting to build something similar and this is the best diy vid I’ve soon. Thanks for uploading and sharing. Will follow ur plans to build my rig
This is awesome. I came across this a few days ago and started making mine the same day. If anyone is interested, lumber cost $13.34. I was able to get the drivers seat from an 08 infinity G35; it cost $50 from the junk yard. Blue prints: base, 4’x19”, uprights, A side 2’ ,B side 32.5”.
Did this as well, used some heavy duty 2x6's and the thing is absolutely rock solid. Anyone on a budget debating if this is worth doing, if you can use a saw and read a tape measure. DO IT, absolutely worth it.
Diy sim rigs are like asmr for me, something about the cheap dad attitude of "I can build that for cheaper" is so satisfying...I did something similar... I hit mine with a coat of black outdoors paint to give it a nice professional look
I made mine from scrap wood from work 😊 and using a small table looks similar to what you did, but I didn’t go through all that other stuff. I just made it secure wooden box as the base which was already made for me because like I said, got it from work. Everything I got from work made sense since I work in a place where many items come in and go now if I can get the seat like you did I’ll be awesome right now I’m using a foot rest 😅😅😅 but it works lol anyways mine is what I call the ghetto Sim setUP 😆😜👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Some changes: junk yard seat, and use the slider underneath so your friends can get their seat right when they play Shifter and handbrake setup together. Or sequential and handbrake with h shifter back. And personally for me I really like to switch left and right so I would use clamps so that I can move them whenever Could get triple screens with the common not too expensive triple mount stand right behind the wheel Good stuff
I love this. I may have watched about 100 times while building my first DIY. The good old days. Where it all started and it was downhill from there lol. Now I have a lot less money in my pockets 😂😂😂

Thats peetty sweet, only thing id change is that seat, it doesnt look like it has much lumbar and you can go to any random junkyard and get a real car seat that would have been burned anyway
As far as wood rigs go, that is a very clean and nice design. Some filler and paint and it would really look professional. I would go to a scrap yard and buy a real car seat, then you get adjustments also. But very nice, good job!
