I’m aware of my bias and accept it. If you watch the reaction, I gave my personal opinion but said I can see why others would like it. There’s really no reason for me to eliminate my biases when it comes to critiquing art because my bias comes from my experiences. That’s what separates one person from another. Eliminating bias is how you get a million reaction channels repeating the same things. I’m here to give MY opinion so that’s what I do.

Man Not Afraid helped me a lot back in 2010. Actually all of Recovery did. I was going through a rough time when Recovery came out and I will never disrespect this song or this album.
This is literally his biggest song ever, it might be the biggest rap song ever, for him to do that while still putting shit(no pun intended) like the tooth scheme in no one was hearing , this is literally the album that made me an eminem fan and don't care people with to hate on it today, plus as someone who struggled with addiction in the past, and helped launch narcan and suboxone (I've spent my career in pharmaceutical sales) and who went through a divorce (I been through the ri gerbut they can't do anything to the middle fiinger) I freeking love this song, this is em at his best to me, and I believe is the album that won the most grammys

this s 100 percent not his biggest song or close. loose yourself is by far and away 10 million times bigger then this and his biggest song, this was mostly remembered as hs comeback song the biggest of his second phase after he went away. this song is not as iconic or as big as the real slim shady and without me are either. this song is an song with a purpose and it will be forever remembered for that purpose but loose yourself is on another level of popularity and the real slim shady and without me were just eminem at his peak when he was all over tv and radio. stan is also far more popular then not afraid, i know youtube views will have not afraid with much more views but it was released when youtube was at its peak the other songs mentioned were when mtv was at its peak before youtube took over, they were just non stop played on repeat on tv and he was the biggest star on the planet which led to him getting offered things like his own movie already at such an early point in his career and that was how popular he was back then because of hits like stan the real slim shady and without me. you could argue and say loose yourself came out before youtube took off also and that has more views then not afraid well loose yourself has been played at the oscars the superbowl major boxing events its his anthem. without me even has more views then not afraid. don't get me wrong not afraid was massive but it was like a comeback so everyone was excited to see it and happy he was back but no way not afraid was anywhere close to the popularity as the real slim shady, stan and without me. over the years and without it even being a single i would say till i collapse is right up their with not afraid, till i collapse seems to get more popular and bigger every year and he never even released it as a single. its growing and becoming the fan favourite. no single no music video yet its his most streamed song on spotify more then not afraid and has over 1 billion views on youtube just short of not afraid which actually was a single and had a music video. plus till i collapse is just growing and growing and is just better

As someone who considers himself an "objective stan" lol, I can agree the chorus is corny af and ruins the song, but the content in the verses is decent, so say songs 1-5 are not good to trash, 6-10 are on the decent to great side, im definitely putting Not Afraid on the 6-10 side. This track is super dope and very motivating, I remember when this album came out I was blown away, one of the best hip hop albums of all time imo. And this is a highlight.

The reason people love this track so much is because at the time a video dropped with that song and was everywhere and everyone knew Em was back, to Em standards the song is alright and some get motivated and teary eyed but most it's a nostalgic point in his career, you know when you hear a song and reminds you of a moment? I truly believe that's why the song is cherished the way it is, hip hop was fading from mainstream other than Lil Wayne, T I and few others, Nas dropped hip hop is dead prior to Ems return I believe, so yeah just a moment that we all remember when the song comes on. I like it but never request it if that makes sense. If it comes on radio I'll listen but I do not have it on any playlist. Stay blessed 👊🏼

It’s a pop song. Not my favorite. Great message. One of the things I thought back to in my early sobriety. Not trying to be corny, but when the time eventually came, the idea that someone like Em could get clean was a big deal for me
