Hi guys ! As a former sound engineer student at School of Audio Engineering @ Sae Paris, I'm looking towards the purchase of the latest vesion of Reason alongside the Nektar Panorama P4 Any feedback appreciated ! Plus, I'd like to know if it integrates well with the latest Cubase Version too ( lot of people are saying that Cubase 7.xx is still very bugy though ) Finally is the P4 worth the purchase if I'm planning to use Reason rewired into Cubase ? Thank in advance for the answers and keep up the good work !
Hi Niels Larsen, my name is Ivan. I just purchased the nekton panorama p4 last week and I wanted to ask how do you make keyboard shortcut commands on the p4 such as browse and pick etc,....
just got mine today thx alan at sweetwater. keys kinda light compared to mpk49, NO note repeat.pads are cool the faders lag alil bit, but over all i got it for reason 6. it does everything in the vid. great job nektar
If I re-sort the order of the tracks in the sequencer or SSL view in Reason, will the Panorama re-map the mixer view screen to the new locations in order to display the new order of my tracks?
That's a really good question. I have an 49 LX+ being delivered this week (got fed up with the poor Novation Launchkey' flexibility for customisation i.e. no saveable user modes) and if the LX can do it then I'm sure the T series can. In fact if I'd have seen this video beforehand I'd have probably bought the T4 especially if they did a series of detailed videos for each DAW they support (I'm a Cubase user, and stick with them because at my level the VST instruments like Padshop and Retrologue are very easy to configure to get your own patches) then it would be a no brainer. I love what Nektar are trying to do. and wish them every success, it will, of course, motivate the other producers to up their game as well.
Wow! I like that. Only thing is I would have to move up my OS for my computer smh. It is nice though. I have Reason and this would be perfect. This would take Reason to a whole new level!
So close and yet so far (sigh) - if these guys would only include an onboard audio interface this would be a killer unit for live performance. Here's the problem - Panorama P4 (USB-1) Reason Dongle (USB-2) Wireless mouse (USB-3) and now the sound-card (USB-?) oh great! my laptop is out of USB ports. Not to mention all the extra cables going to and from an external audio interface. But, they missed the boat.
if they added 16 led light colored pads a la maschine 2, note repeat with up to 1/64th timing and thirds included, and an input for sampling and or support for recycle, it would bring more people to reason and this controller. a decent touch screen with 88 weighted keys with after touch would be killer even for a grand. until then maschine and my mouse and a generic keyboard will do :/
it's kinda funny to see people asking if this controller works for other daws... i'm pretty sure it does considering all daws are pretty much the same. they all have individual tracks, they all have a mixer, they all have parameters to modulate, they all have a sequencer track for the whole project... anyways... regardless if your DAW uses VST's or internal sounds... this controller will obviously work the same way... plus theres a website...
and if it took an ipad in the full 88 keys weighted version.. that would be crazy. i would pay 1k for it and im sure others would too. in essence make it great for production and live performance... all in one.. we need a new succesor to a real workstation, but we use reason.we already have computers, so the mike and neko are out. maybe an interchangeable screen area so macbooks can fit in?? people like gimmicky things like that even they dont neccesarily add more functionality
I was mostly kidding, and most of the part that wasn't kidding was simply motivated by the fact that I don't have Reason (and doubt I ever will)~shrug~
One thing I truly hate when someone makes a controller for a specific daw... they put 12 pads! 😠😠😠 we all know since birth the standard is 16! I can see on an mpk mini 8 pads! Able to switch to use other 8 =16 total... but why of why do they lack the other 4? It's not like there is no room! Kong has 16 pads!!! Was this made around the redrum? It's pretty a Awesome board!!! I won't buy it just for that "reason"! Haha.. Pun Intended!
Mine arrives today from Sweetwater! so freaking excited to unbox mine & hook it up. Thanks to Joe James for taking good care of me.
I have this and have had everything from ediirol, korg, maudio, akai, and this thing blows them all away.
5:46 This is the reason why I will buy this monster.
Cant wait till mine comes!

Used with Reason 10 and Arturia V Collection 9's CS-80 V4 I can play with my Nektar Panorama P4 all the sounds WITH aftertouch.
What about rack extensions ?
i thinking about to buy one of this, it can help me to have more confortable use of Reason, without the pain of using mouse ^^.
So did you buy it? How do you like it?
Is there a way to do volume automation using that motorized fader?
