Thanks so much! Thanks for being subscriber #1000!! I hope you get the motor fader issue worked out - I know that is a struggle for a good number of people - sadly I have up on my motor fader when it stopped working but it was far out of warranty and that keyboard had been through a whole lot so I didn't hold it to Nektar. At the moment and for a really almost a year and a half I have been living as a digital nomad and so my Nektar is in storage 😭😭😭 but I have been doing some Reason Videos and I will be launching something really cool soon that is secret atm but I bet you will appreciate when I go live with it! Good luck with the fader for now and thanks for watching!
I have a Nektar P4. Thanx for covering some of the basics in a logical manner, it helps to understand the machine better without doing the old "What does this button do?" routine.
Hey thanks for the tutorial, I've had a Nektar for some time but haven't really dived into it as much as I should've.. But your video has now inspired me to get up close and personal with this awesome machine.. Gratitude and blessings from a fellow Reason nut... I've subscribed 😊
Hi Rodrigo - let me start with a comment which will be quicker than a video :) but it would be a good topic for a future video :) In terms of keyboard response/action the Panorama is really excellent. While I am not classically proficient I grew up playing real pianos and I can say that the Nektar has the best response I have touched in any keyboard under $1500. I have owned 5 keyboard controllers in the past 7 years and this one is superior by far in that regard
Thank you. Your video's have influenced me to purchase the P4 with Reason. I do have a quick question. I have multiple tracks that I had to re-order in the mixer, sequencer and rack. i made sure they all correspond to each other. Problem is now the P4 faders are not in corresponding order. They are still tied to the original order they were in before i moved things around. any guidance would be helpful. Thanks again
Hey Nektar Junqee - Thanks so much for these series of video tutorials. I'm new to Reason and recently purchased a P6. How do you audition sounds in the various Reason instruments ( or effects ) when you have the p6 surfaced locked - in mixer mode? For example, I'm loading individual drum samples ( not patches ) in the Redrum channels but I cannot hear them when I play the P6 keys or the pads. I can only audition the drum sounds by scrolling over them in the Reason software. BTW, i'd like to know your feelings on the P6 user manual....I used to be a manual person but now all of the reading is hard on my eyes,,,Have you considered making a complete instructional video series for the P6 ? I certainly would be willing to purchase one !! Thanks
Hello Nektar JunQee,I have been checking out your videos and they have been very informative.I have been trying to figure out how to manipulate the sliders and the mutes on the fly when i actually record,Is there a way to manipulate such functions? And will you be making a video on it?Reasons 7 and the Nektar p6 has been a beautiful combination,But if i was able to record on the fly minus the tedious cutting, editing and slicing that would GREAT!!!!! Thanks in advance for the great videos and info.
Hi guys ! As a former sound engineer student at School of Audio Engineering @ Sae Paris, I'm looking towards the purchase of the latest vesion of Reason alongside the Nektar Panorama P4 Any feedback appreciated ! Plus, I'd like to know if it integrates well with the latest Cubase / Nuendo Version too ( lot of people are saying that Cubase 7.xx is still very bugy though ) Finally is the P4 worth the purchase if I'm planning to use Reason rewired into Cubase / Nuendo ? Thank in advance for the answers and keep up the good work !
Thanks for the Tuto! really useful. Can we separate keyboard and pads? I mean to play subtractor on the Keyboard and Kong on the pads? It could be great in live performance..
Hello Pielo - Yes - Nektar can handle an unlimited number of banks. I am working on a new tutorial with some 'nuts and bolts' and that's one that I will be covering but the simple answer is "Yes" - it handles banks in a very intelligent way and allows you to navigate through banks either by a multiplier of 8 or by using the currently selected track as a startpoint. Check back or subscribe - I am guessing the tutorial will be up be June 14
Part 2 of my issue I am thinking that may be the problem is that I have my Roland TR-8 connected to Reason to where I can record the sound from my drum Machine to Reason, however it is not installed as part of my control surface. I am wondering if this is part of the problem.
Question: Recently I purchased the Panorama P4 to use with Reason 6. I am having trouble integrating Reason to the panorama p4. For the most part it only stays in the internal mode and when I attempt to add Panorama to the control surface in reason it does not recognize it. When I attempt to do it manually, it does not allow me to add the "Panorama Mixer" mode to the control surface. I tried shutting down the Panorama and pressing the Toggle button and mixer at the top while turning on and the faders move up and down, however the LED screen is blank and Reason does not recognize the Panorama at all. What would be your recommendation?
Hi...btw, I would like to buy a P6 in the near future, but I haven't hear much about the keyboard keys performance, response, feeling, etc... I study classical piano, and of course I 'm not expecting an action-hammer key feel, but can you tell me if the keys have a reasonable weight and feel ? (Or even better if you can record a video about it :) ) Thanks !
Question: I'm sure its been asked but I'm too lazy to scroll thru.. lol. When switching to the new bank of 8, wont the level jump to wherever the fader is when you touch it?
Panorama is a little bit intelligent this way. When you switch banks (Or when you open your DAW and you have all the faders down for example), it shows both the level in the DAW and the current position of the fader on the Panorama's screen and the fader doesn't begin to adjust the volume until you line the two up first.
Thanks - the only difference is the number of keys - everything else is exactly the same. I used to like to have all of the keys of a big controller but now I use the octave keys and save a lot of space. Your choice but you don't get anything else out of the 6
can nektar handle more than 60 tracka?now in reason 7 parallel processing its the big deal that can make the console get biger how many banks did nektar have
Oh man, that is a good question! This video is super old - I just reopened the channel to make the newer vids in R12 but this was 2012 or something like that so I can't really speak to it 100%. I always get the new upgrades so whatever was the most recent at that point! (R9 maybe?)
Gotta say... I hate that it has 12 pads opposed to the 16 that Kong has! Why would you do that? Every controller now days has 16 pads! If not? 2 groups of 8... this doesn't make sense for a reason user!
Thank you JunQee for your work I am your 1000th subscriber....Currently struggling with some motorfader hiccups from my p6

I cant find where you show it being motorized. Any particular timecode?
Hey, I'm looking forward to this one banks are helpful in this case.

Can you 'automap' like you can with novation? So can you reassign each control and slider to the effect (eg lfo1) you want on reason? Thanks
Im having some serious issues with reason auto detecting the panorama p4 nektar. Have you had these issues in the Panorama P4?
