Maybe because this excerpt stripped identity politics from MLK's words. The full speech is much better, in the context of MLK's time and perhaps now.

This speech is a motto I live by. If you get caught up in the past you will be trapped. Moving forward is necessary.
We remember you on today Martin, your dream and legacy will never die. The battle have yet to be won, but we are ever fighting it everyday, it its not easy, but with Gods love in our hearts through Jesus Christ we will win and we will over come. I want to say thank you Martin, because of who you are and what you did, we are where we are today, and without you, things would not have changed. We must continue to love, we must continue to fight for racial equality, racial justice, and accept the fact that we are all the same. God bless you forever Martin. #GoneButForeverMissed

This is the first time I have heard this speech.....amazing.
To all of our neighbors in America....enjoy all life has to give and take nothing for granted.
one of the most influential man , whose influence has lived up to this day and will continue even unto the end of the end of the world .
He is truly a Leader, my Father figure, who I shall always cherish, I have never seen, heard or been around him but decided it is by his Blueprint I am going to live and teach my children, very few leaders can do that. Whenever I need a reminder I return to this over and over again.

When I was a young boy during the early 60s, I hated black people. I had only 2 friends who were black in my whole Greaser gang until one day I heard this speech later on. And that was when I saw that a black man isn't on his own journey, that we both shared the exact same hopes, the exact same dreams, the exact same fears as one another. If Martin Luther King didn't deliver a single speech, I would still be the racist ass hole I once was
