After surviving her first encounter with Michael Myers in the 1978 original, Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode was changed forever. The ever-present threat of the boogeyman heavily impacted her quality of life, and also her family’s. When Michael returns in 2018, that battle does bring Laurie, her daughter, Karen (Judy Greer), and her granddaughter, Allyson (Andi Matichak) together, but not without great loss. When we reunite with Laurie in Halloween Ends, four years after the events of Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills, she’s finally done what she couldn’t do in the 40 years between the original film and the 2018 installment; she heals. She’ll never fully escape the horrific events of her past, but she’s determined to live the life she deserves and ensure the same for her granddaughter.
Unfortunately, Michael and other forms of evil have other plans. Ultimately, Laurie contributes to Corey’s (Rohan Campbell) demise and takes part in a town procession to confirm that Michael Myers is finally dead, dead, dead, but there’s one particular idea the film puts forth that Laurie flat-out writes in her book that leaves the door open for evil to return; “I’ve said goodbye to my boogeyman, but the truth is, evil doesn’t die. It changes shape.” However, rather than end the trilogy by keeping the focus on the potential for more evil, Halloween Ends leaves us with hope for Laurie, sitting on her porch with Frank (Will Patton) talking about those cherry blossoms on November 1st.
While chatting with Curtis about her experience working on the franchise and on Halloween Ends in particular, she revealed a significant contribution she personally made to the end of the film. Find out what it is in this interview!

Seeing her tear up about the ending especially after seeing it made me appreciate Ends ten times more. The trilogy was never about Michael, it was about Evil and Trauma
I am shocked that Jamie Lee Curtis openly admitted to not liking horror movies but I am also glad that she appreciates how much the Halloween franchise changed her life.

How? I really don't like any of R.Z. versions. Boobs out, getting hype on morbid aesthetics. One of the reasons is the fact that this trilogy doesn't inspire people to wear a MM mask on. No celebration of evil. I'm not a fan of serial killers so I'm not bothered with MM getting long time humiliation and degradation. People can choose which version they prefer. Many to choose from.
@@FractalKrystian I agree I’ve been rooting for Laurie Strode since the original and I’m glad she’s finally been able to get justice. Personally I do wish they focused more on that and didn’t go into left field with the whole Corey situation but I get they wanted to do something different ig.

I like this interview more than the movie. Having an explanation calm a bit the pain that ends caused in some fans. I feel sad for Laurie.
Saw the movie yesterday (in theaters because they need support). I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would after seeing the reviews. The only thing I didn’t like was that the fight between Michael and Laurie was rather short

I am still mad they cut out a lot of things from the movie that was in the trailer like when lorries hiding behind the wall Michael pops out looking for her they took that out they took out the scene where she’s walking down the dark hallways saying it’s time to put the bogeyman to bed they took that out of the movie they took a lot of scenes out of this movie I mean I love the whole entire movie but put all the good scene in the movie I mean come on we really want to see these good scenes and lines that were in the trailer but we’re not in the movie

She said she had seen Scream or maybe just some of it before doing H20 and that's why she wanted Kevin Williamson to work on it, she was amused Laurie was on the TV that kills Stu.

I just got back from the cinemas and watched this Halloween movie, it was awesome!
It´s a movie that i'll watch over and over and overe and there will always be something new to talk about. Im sure it's a polarizing movie but im on the side of "LOVE IT".

Jamie doesn't like horror, yet that is where she cashes in from, the horror genre. I mean come on, Freaky Friday and Trading Places? I mean sure True Lies and Knives Out was a good spot for Jamie Lee Curtis, but her career will always be big in the horror genre, Terror Train, Halloween, Prom Night, Scream Queens and The Fog. She seems to have this big ego since the new Halloween franchise.

Dude, Halloween 6 had Micheal have an incest baby with his niece Jamie, while he was being mind controlled. Resurrection had Micheal and Laurie kiss even tho they’re siblings. Nothing is “ruining” the Halloween franchise at this point

The reality is it’s hard to be upset about Halloween 5, 6, Resurrection, or the Rob Zombie movies anymore because even tho they were awful, they were decades ago. When a new movie is disappointing it hits harder.
I’m not a fan at all of how they used Micheal in Ends, but I will take Micheal being a weak 70 year old in a cave any day over zombie-Micheal having sex with his niece.
Ends wasn’t making a point that Corey and Laurie can just beat Micheal easily, but rather that they can only go toe to toe with him because in the 4 years Micheal has gotten really really weak. Does that make it a good choice? No, but him being weak was a deliberate choice for his presence in the movie instead of him being badass and then getting beaten easily. The problem is that they explain none of this, like why did he stop killing, why is he in a cave? All of that is extremely undercooked, underexplained, and bad.
Resurrection though, it completely disrespects Micheal by acting like Micheal at full strength can be beaten by a roundhouse kick. And Halloween 6 makes Micheal really hard to take seriously, since not only has he been controlled this entire time, making no choices for himself, but also he has an incest baby. It’s just dumb.
I’m a horror hater she says! A lot of people just have fuct up morbid curiosity and to me it’s not scary I’m rooting for Michael I was so pissed when Corey took his mask and he wasn’t the one who killed him and it should have been the most brutal in the franchise!!
