I just put this shed up and had to follow your video at times. Thank you for sharing this.

So just finished building it, using your video as reference.
I will say this: 1. You need to maybe label the screws in the packages, also separate them. Having it all in one bag for the whole section is a nightmare. 2. Your demonstration video is fast, which is fine, but you need to slow down and zoom in on some of the screws, as it can be difficult due to the aforementioned non labeled bits. I was also missing several screws, so I improvised with pre existing ones I had. 3. The instruction booklet has the screw diagrams which is nice but it’s still difficult to decipher which is which at times.
Overall it’s a great and solid small shed. I’m happy about it.

YES to the labelling and separating of the screws! Jeez o pete!

    • @guyfroml
      @guyfroml 3 роки тому +2

Absolutely! Due to the screws at times being difficult to decipher, I used the Lord's name in vain more than a few times. What I discovered is the diagram drawings of the screws and the rest of the hardware are supposed to be shown to scale (or very close to it), so that helped. But, I'm with you Issac, putting each type of screw and nut in separate bags would help. It would be perfectly fine to place ALL the same kind of screws that would be used through the entire construction in the same bag but have the instructions at each step indicate how many you will use during that step.
ALSO, another great suggestion to Lifetime is to mention the specification of the screw or nut or bolt (standard or metric and size/number). This way if something is missing, we'll know exactly what type and size we need to go pick-up at the hardware store. Fortunately for me there were no shortages.
Like you, overall, a great shed, especially for the price. Mine was $350 at Sam's Club. Another $50 if it has to be delivered.

My thoughts exactly! I can’t tell a lot of the screws apart and now I put several holes in the top cover and have to go back and caulk it. I’m so sad because it looks bad 😢

I'm finding this extremely different. There are no screw holes in places the diagram says there should be. Not all parts are labeled and I have to guess what goes where.

The paper instructions are not very clear, so this video is extremely helpful in putting the shed together.
I bought two units and on both the slots for the lid supports (EYG) were blocked. On one side I was able to push in the block with the end on EYG. On the other side I had to use a screwdriver and hammer to push the blockage in.

Excellent video. Everything was laid out properly and made assembling this complex kit a breeze. The gentleman walked through the steps in a very logical, measured pace. This is the second Lifetime shed I have assembled and am impressed with the clarity and order of the pieces in small bags. The best do it yourself kit I have ever seen.

This is my second shed from your company. The first one was Great!! It went together well, and easy. The second was a pain in the Butt!! Some of the cut outs for the support bars, were not cut out. You cut out some, but not all. The support bars were too big for the holes they were to fit in. It's like the personell got slopy, and showed lack of focus. I need another shed, but I won't get it here!

Lot’s of hardware and lots of work. Took me 5-1/2 hours to assemble. However, the video was very helpful. Could not have done this with just the manual. I paused the video in each step, but still missed 2 steps. My only problem was securing the door hinges to the doors. Very difficult to get the screw to go into the hole on the metal bracket. My only concern is that the metal plate attached to the left door where the doors meet is only secured with screws into plastic. Very flimsy connection.

First step, put the floor panels together, wouldn't happen, finally the big hammer worked. The big hammer is the most important tool in getting the walls up and together. You could label the screws a, b, c, not the multiple letter mush now used. So far seeming like a good product.

Everything on the video was alright and clear about how to assemble, but the issue on my shed was the right hinge and the left, was the the holes were not aligned with the hardware. I had to to do an adjustment not wanting to bother to bring it back to the store since I already threw the box.

ADX screws do not go into the lateral support channel (support channel holes too small). Also, if you drill them out you won't have enough ADX screws to finish the job. Also, there are no other screws that fit. What now?

The video was helpful, BUT ... the screws need to be labeled or at least divided by specific sections. I don't know if I was using the correct screws or not, but I ran out and had to run to Lowe's a few times to get the correct one.

The hardware bag you'll need will be shown at the begging of each section and the top of each page. To make sure you're using the right hardware, you can match up the hardware to the picture since the images on top of each page is the actual size of the hardware.

Just finished assembling mine! Great organisation of the bits and bobs -- it appears that you took commenters' suggestions to put screws for each of the 3 steps into separate bags, and that helped immensely.
Unfortunately I do have one issue, and that is that the locking tab is a little too low for the keeper to go completely over it without really pulling the door up. It's not a deal breaker but was a surprising shortcoming after the rest of the build quality.

Nearly two years later, I am in the middle of taking this apart to re-assemble it up the top of two flights of stairs. Further thoughts on the design (and no, the latch has never, not once, come down easily for locking): it is designed for ease of assembly. I'm not saying it's the wrong decision, but there is absolutely zero thought into how you'd break this down to move it. And it's far too heavy to move as a single unit, unless you're scooting it along a flat surface.

I like that there were separate steps. However, the hardware for each step should be labeled for each step. For example, hardware, "ADZ", was needed for different steps but in my kit they all came in one bag along with other screws. I'm not the person who has an eagle eye for screws and many look the same to me. Screw ADX and ADZ could be confused. I am not an engineer. Was this to save money or something. else? Not being factious. I really want to know why the hardware kits came like they did. thank you

I am currently in process of assembling my horizontal shed. so far so good. however, one comment I have is that when installing the hinges, I found it easier to partially install the hinges first, before the vertical bar, due to the fact that you have to try to line up the screws from the hinge and through the 2 small holes in the vertical bar. it took a bit of back and forth to get those through, after that I proceeded to secure the bar to the door. I understand that this is essential because you want those hinges to be secured to structure.

If youre thinking to assemble this DONT and return it back to Costco or where you bought it from. This is not a lifetime shed - its soft plastic with screws. Whoever though about screwing metal in soft plastic is dumb. I am using a screwdriver instead of drill since with drill at speed 1 is spinning forever. Even with the screwdriver you have to be so soft but some screws are still spinning indefinitely. Dony buy it since i am sure this junk will not lost more than a season. Go for wood - even if will not be forever will last more than this junk
